I purchased a pair of tennis shoes on 4/26/14 from Famous Footware using my debit card. On 4/28/14, I noticed my bank account was charged twice for the purchase. I contacted the Customer Service Department to notify them of the dulplicate charge. The representative apologized, saying ""several customers have called in with the same complaint"". She then transfered my complaint to their Dispute Department who informed me that they only see one charge being posted. I escalated my comlaint to management, faxed them a copy of my bank statement cleary showing the duplicate transaction. They claimed they only see one transaction, and cannot fix what their system isn't showing.

I disputed the charege with my bank, however it may take up to 10 business days to credit back the duplicate charge. Brown Shoe offered up a $20 gift card for my time and trouble. This of course, only means I need to make another purchase to honor it. Their effort to compensate me for my time and trouble to correct their error, is a sham.

Curious if anyone else has experienced a similar problem. Fraud? Should the Attorney General be notified?
