Bunstine, Watson, McElroy, and Becker Reviews

  • Nov 13, 2014

Jerry Becker, esquire, a prominent attorney and professor with connections throughout the state of Tennessee used his position to call a client, stating his daughter had multiple sclerosis, like the client. He then insisted on a $10,000 retainer being paid by credit card. Upon meeting with Becker, discovery was made he was associates with the defendants in house Council. Becker then called the client, appeared two hours late before a judge in Bristol, TN and quit. He charged the client $7000 and never even prepared a single document. Further, his paralegal had sent the client an email in response to a ? from a supposed conversation with defendants council about filing IRS income taxes. In writing, Becker's office states that claimants husband had filed an extension with IRS. In fact, no such documents were ever produced. Claimant also asked for order of protection. As it turns out, the local judge recused himself as judge's wife was working in defense councils office. Becker's claims of being to busy to file motions to protect a woman who had been beaten by her husband went unheard.

Then the man kept $7000 of the retainer fee. He did not even work on the case for a month. His use of his daughter's illness, calling people at home on Sundays, then dropping cases when he knew their to be clear and real issues, represents ethical misconduct and real suffering on someone who has multiple sclerosis, has been assaulted and is trying to seek divorce from her husband, who works as a CFO for the large firm where his former student and colleague, per his own description, "Beka and Tom" ate my dear friends. He visited, of course, which was why he was late for his trial. There are eyes about small towns.
