I hired Attorney Robert Burch, Attorney Courtney Shepard (The Law Offices of Burch, Coulston & Shepard, L.L.P.8001 Irvine Center Drive Irvine, CA 92618 Phone: 949-502-4400 ) and Courtney met with me and my mother ONCE in person for any type of in-depth consultation.
Attorney Shepard stated on multiple occasions that she was going to file a motion for my divorce and custody and NEVER did. They then neglected to contact me when they decided not to file the default altogether! When you are fighting for your child- and you are told things are almost over while you are missing months of his life- this is UNACCEPTABLE.
I am know having to fight to recover any remaining part of the retainer and obtain a billing statement.
I work hard, often in excess of 10 hours a day and make nothing near the $300 something an hour Ms. Shepard is making.
It's pretty sorry that someone who claims to be an advocate for families would provide this kind of service.
I would NOT recommend this firm for anyone who seriously wants to take care of their family.

Reported to the California State Bar Association. Discovered there are many complaints against Attorney Robert Burch and the Law Offices of Burch, Coulston & Shepard.

Attorney Todd Coulston has poor communication skills and was more interested in settling than protecting our rights.
We never got the impression that Todd had control of his staff.
The only thing Todd, Chris Bruce and the rest of the staff were able to do timely was send a bill.
Chris Bruce repeatedly misrepresented information we had given to her numerous times. She filed documents "quickly", which turned out to be months later and never informed us whether they were filed or not when questioned.
My wife tried calling their office to confirm a court date for three consecutive weeks, which we never received a return call or email addressing her question. Subsequently, we were forced to find a new attorney to represent us in court on short notice and we could not have made a better decision.
We are not sure how Todd and his staff are still in business.
The Law Office of Burch, Coulston & Shepard is one of the worst law firms out there. Buyer beware.
