This company sends out offical looking notices to new Corporations claiming that they need to send $65.00 by check or money order to them so that the new business has a "CERTIFICATE OF STATUS" or 'CETIFICATE OF EXISTENCE" or "CERTIFICATE OF GOOD STANDING" or "CERTIFICATE OF AUTHORIZATION".

They imply that this is needed to "prove you are incorporated ans authorized to transact business in a certain state." They also state that this certificate "signifies an entity is current with the filing requirements of that jurisdiction's secretary of state's office, as well as being current with any corporate franchise taxes in that jurisdiction."

They state that banks will REQUIRE this certificate to open a business account.

This company is preying on new business owners who are trying to get started. They count on the confussion of the incorporation process to trick people into paying the $65 and never knowing they have been scammed. They should be put out of business!

This company is sending out SCAM letters claiming to be coming from "California Compliance Center" at 777 Campus Commons Center #200, Sacramento CA 95825.

After I opened up several agencies for several clients, every single one of my agencies received a letter for a "Certificate of Status Request Form". Notice how they only focus on NEW BUSINESS OWNERS. How they recieved information for new business owners is completely beyond me.

This scam focuses on new business owners who do not know much asking them to pay $49.50 for a document that is NOT ENDORSED OR RECOGNIZED by a government agency.

Basically, they are selling you fake scam documents.

Inlcluded are links providing pictures of the letters that they are sending.

Tries to get a fee out of company owners by making them believe the State of California is demanding it.

This company sends out mailers to (at least for mine) newly formed entities. The mailer appears to be very similar to something that would be sent by an official California agency. For example, the company logo is highly similar to the seal one would see on a California agency. The mailer implies that the targeted company has failed to "file for your companies (sic) Certificate of Status." It goes on to list the types of certificates and state these are to "prove they are incorporated and authorized to transact business in a certain state . . ."

At the very bottom, there is a disclaimer saying they are not endorsed by any governmental agency.

It's unclear who the owner is, but there is a recently filed "california compliance center LL" showing on the CA Secratary of State website. In Sacramento County, the owner of the "California Compliance Center" DBA is U.S. TAXPROS. Who knows, but if you get one of these, do not send them any money if you are sending it only because you think the State of California makes you. I have no idea whatsoever if they would ever procure any certificate for you either, so I can't speak as to that.
