I recently bought a car from them a 2004 Ford Expediton and the car was a lemon. It had a blown head, fumes coming through the vents and rear bearings were bad. Called today because i dont want the car anymore and Tonya told me that i could not return the car. Told her that she knowingly sold me a lemon knowing that my credit was not good. She told me that i offered you other options which was more old no good cars. What ever u do don't get a car from them they lie and make the deal look so good. Out of almost $900 dollars and have not drove the car but almost 2 weeks before it started having issues. I hope they give me my money back but don't think they will. Do not go to them.

I am fresh out of high school and moved to Iowa for college, so I really don't know to much about car. Come on what girl do, especially being only 19 years old. Well I went to Carhop because I needed a car, and needed one fast. So I goes to car hope show them my information and told them I had $350 to put down but when I kept getting phone calls before evening moving here they told me it would be $100 for a down payment. But anyways so I get my car and my payment are $93 a week starting April 6th when I bought my car March 23. And so I get my tags in the mail and they are EXPIRED because my birthday is April 15. Which is dumb.? But I go get my tags done. Then I call them to schedule my payments every 2weeks which they said it would be 187 Bi weekly. And told me this would help my credit which it was doing good at first until I call them and told them I had to work until 6pm and wouldn't be able to bring my payment until the next morning. They told me NO, they would need my payment by 6pm in order to keep me driving because there is a device and my car that will turn my car off if i didn't turn in my payment. Sooo then I goes to a dealer ship who told me they can't get me into a NEWER car because the amount Carhop is charging me TRIPLE THE AMOUNT the car is actually worth and no Dealership or Carlot will pay that much for a car that old for the amount they are charging especially with the car facts scores. I am paying almost 12,000-13,000 for a 2003 300M Chrysler Speical that has 150,000 something miles on it. I swear if there is anyone out their that think they can help me out of this situation. I really appreciate it. I am only 19 years old and don't wanna be stuck in this car forever. The guy at the dealer said I should fight this using the "Fair & Truth Lending Act"

I put $500 down on a car. A 2001 pontiac Grand am. About 2 weeks went by and the car broke down. The car overheated while my girlfriend was driving on the interstate and the wheel locked up and the car wouldnt move. I had to get the car towed bc car hop would not do anything as far as getting it to the shop. I had the car sent to their shop and was told I needed a brand new engine which is pretty inconvenient for anyone. I work a distance away and it is hard to find a ride. This lame company definitely did not care. Instead of saying im so sorry that this happened he asks me how was I getting to work before. He did ask that I give him a chance to have the car fixed since it was covered under warranty. I was told that the motor would be sent from Minnesota and it would be refurbished. I had to go a week without my car. The day I got the car back it had more issues including the same issues that made me have to take the car to the shop in the first place. The only difference is that my temperature meter was broken so I couldnt tell if it was over heating. It still smoked and smelled like it was over heating. I also had a big dent in my driver door which made it hard to open. I decided to pop the hood to take a look at this "refurbished" engine. It was definitely not refurbished. It looked like it was taken from the junk yard and put right in my car. It was not a new engine and they didnt even put coolant in the car. How do you put a new engine in a car without putting in any fluids. I took the car back to car hop the next morning and was told I could get out of the contract but could not get any of my money back such as car payments made and the down payment. This company got $680 for absolutely nothing. And with all the documents you sign its impossible to get a lawyer. I figured I would post my story to prevent tgis from happening to other people. Its the worst feeling to lose out on money you really didn't have to give away. It still bothers me that this business is really staying afloat because they are willing to work with individuals with bad credit. People with bad credit still deserves to have a reliable car if it is being paid for. Do not get a car from this company. They are full liars and crooks. $680 to drive a car for 2 weeks is not right. Here is a message for anybody down on their luck and thinks that car hop may make their situation a bit less stressful. Don't fool yourself. You are better just paying some things off your credit or saving a couple thousand to put with a company that truly cares.

This was a bad deal for certain. I signed an agreement that was far less than friendly. UAC/CarHop has been very difficult to work with until now. They do not report their activitiy to credit bureau agencies. Nor will they give an accurate payoff to a legitimate dealership. It has been a painstaking effort to keep the vehicle after $1700.00 worth of repairs. After being laid-off they took the SUV back until I could bring the payments current. This was all done in the same day when my Unemployment Insurance was denied. I found work in three weeks but I was that much further behind. I have only had the vehicle for 14 months. I am very concerned about needing a vehicle to get back and forth to work.

My son starts college next fall not sure if the SUV will last that long!

The business practices during sales are intended to rob the consumer of as much as possible, especially since the people who go to this sort of dealer are desparate for a vehicle to conduct their lives, particularly in places with poor public transportation. The sales person also lied about what their warranty covers. I understand that they arrange loans for consumers with bad credit with the promise of helping the consumer improve their credit score; however, they take no care or responsibility in the product they're selling you. I don't think there is a chance of ultimately even improving your credit score if they sell you garbage. They are predators. I expected at least a reasonable car.

The purchase of the car was unlike any deal I have ever been involved with. There are no sticker prices on any of the vehicles. You go in and wait in line for them to bring up your bank statements on a computer. after reviewing your finances, they come up with a magic number of the vehicle they think you can afford. I believe my magic number was 21. They then told me that 21 meant they could sell me a 10000 dollar car and showed me two old vehicles that they claimed were rated for number 21. The cars were over a dozen years old. It did not occur to me to ask to see a cheaper car. I was told that I could pick from one of the two cars.

It was a 2001 Buick LeSabre with 123000 miles on it. Then the confusing paperwork started. They want to know why you had bad credit, but then they write in "too much debt" no matter what you say. I think two years of two bread winners (with children) being unemployed during a depression is a good reason but that is not what they wrote. The goal is to make you feel like a screwup when, in fact, 2 years of unemployment would hose almost anybody and has nothing to do with "personal responsibility" but since they brought it up, where is thiers??

I had to get a ride to this dealer and so have a witness of the many times the salesman lied about the warranty on the car. Repeatedly he told us everything under the hood was covered. Of course, this is not true. Almost nothing has ever been covered by their warranty.

Then the confusing paperwork started. This old beater with a 123000 miles on it, bad brakes, chips in the windshield, would cost me $440 a month. during this process, I watched their video on arbitration, not knowing that it is a way for them to get out of liability when you are injured in their broken down vehicles. The salesperson also was running up and back and changing the number of months on the loan.

In less than 24 hours the car was not drivable. Then I found out that the warranty covers almost nothing. Additionally, I must take the car to one of the auto repair shops on their list, all of which are a $100 tow away. The first repair shop didn't do a proper job and left an old part in the car while charging for a new one.

This car has been in the shop about 6 times already and has cost hundreds and hundreds of dollars with me replacing most of what is under the hood. Each time is a hefty tow, a drain on my finances, enough stress to shorten my life, and it recently spends more time broken down than on the road. The loan, which I thought was for 26 months, is 32 or more months. With 8 months remaining, it is broken down again and not usable. I purchased a car, not a credit score, so first and foremost I expect a car, not garbage. Is there no limit to how much our corrupt law makers allow corporations to rob us? 3 times the value of the car wasn't enough, and it won't even keep running now?

No one in their right mind would continue paying for this car. I have done my part in being "responsible", what about carhop? Corporations are people, my friend, why is no one at Carhop responsible for selling me trash instead of a working vehicle I can afford? High interest isn't enough, they pad it 5 grand, AND charge high interest AND sell garbage????? Doesn't the fact that they sold me garbage invalidate their contract? Or did they put in fine print that says they're selling me a car that won't be usable? I did not write the contract, they did.

I believe with all the repairs, I have been paying 500-600 per month for an unsafe vehicle that causes grief and they aren't responsible. Why not?!! They are thieves and liars preying on people they bleed for every last drop. Is there a legal solution here or do I pretend there is actually a hell for them to fry in? And this BS with the credit report is another thing. The banks invented the credit reports, so where is a provision for when they crash the economy? I am sick and tired of being screwed from every direction. How can this be legal?

How many deaths has carhop been responsible for? Include suicides please.

Finally, i was told to that the information is being processed that it'll take them another 24 hours to gather the details about my warranty and hopefully should get the vehicle by Tuesday or Wednesday!!! Since both my wife and i only depend on that single vehicle as a means of transportation she had to call off for that day. Because of that i was forced to pay extra $266 for car rental till Monday August 4 2014 (My son's birthday)!!! So, monday morning I called Bumper to Buper from work for an update, i was told that they sent a report to Carhop the Friday, August 1st of 2014, did'nt hear from both so I called Carhop. After over 20 minutes waiting to be transfered (as usual) they finally answerd, the answer was that they haven't gotten any report about the vehicle!! What??? The the person asked me Bumper to Bumper's phone number to get in touch with them and they he'll call me back for details(obviousy there hasn't been any communication at all between Bumper to Bumper and Carhop until i called in). Just 12 minutes later, i recieved a call back from the same Carhop guy stating that Bumper to Bumper have have could'nt process the report of time because they were having ''issues'' with their computer (SiNCE THURSDAY?? WHAT HAPPEND TO THEIR PHONE)?? Also that they should get things sorted out by noon of the day. Later, at around 12:47 I called Bumper to Bumper for update, finally I was told that IT"S A BAD WATER LEAK!!! (What i already knew since thursday)!! HOWEVER..........I must to pay $95 out of pocket for them to be able to locate what happened because Carhop refused to cover for the damage!!! I was distraught!! Terribly stressed out. I left work immediately at 3:35, got home at 4:22. I got on the phone at 4:45 Now it's 16:15 and counting!!! Carhop wont answer my call, it's my son's birthday and i'm bitterly angry and frustrated. I had to extend the car rental till friday that's another $90 !!PLEASE HELP HELP HELP!
