Channel Advisor Reviews

As a client of ChannelAdvisor, I am telling you from experience what we went through extremely difficult hardships with the company.

We started in good faith and wanted to end in good faith. However, we were trying and trying to work with them, but all they want is your money and they are not willing to help you in any way. They promise you everything but they don't deliver. They promised that they will help us setup the process for eBay and Amazon, we paid extra set up fee for setting up each platform. However, they gave us inexperienced workers which misguided us causing us to lose thousands of dollars. Initially they told us the losses they caused us will be reimbursed. But when it came to pay, the company formed against us in a very unprofessional way, not to help out the customer.

We very much wanted to grow with ChannelAdvisor on all platforms however their behavior was ruthlessly unkind, unprofessional in this matter. After our mess up we found out that many other clients where going through the same hardships and even worse experiences with ChannelAdvisor.

Be extremely cautious with them as they promise you many things initially but the people employed there are very not well trained and very unkind and cause huge mess ups. So watch where you spend your money!! We highly recommend you not sign up with ChannelAdvisor!!

Channel Advisor will not give back fees for cancelled orders,. They are also way over priced. We started with this company 7 years ago, now that competition has increased our margins are much lower, we explained this to channel advisor they would not come off the high fees they charge. So we looked elsewhere and found much better option. When we explained this to Channdel Advisor they would not cancel us. This said we had contract. Now they are wanting us to pay 1000 per month for nothing. The owner of the company Scott Wingo will not call me at all and he has not called., he hides behind his new hires. We have went thru many new account manager in the last 7 years. Please beware of this company. I will also let Amazon and Ebay now how they are handling there good customers.

Around 2 months after signing our contract with ChannelAdvisor (CA), we started to experience issues with their service that made their software unusable for our intended purposes.

We received monthly "updates" for the following 7 months stating that our issues have yet to be resolved. We made contact with CA regarding termination of our account at this time. CA was fully aware of our intentions to discontinue their service.

In an honest mistake, we did not submit a formal termination request until after we were notified of our outstanding balance on 10/22/13. We received no prior notifications or warnings in regards to our auto-renewal which was scheduled to take place on 9/28/13. The only notification we received was the following day stating they were unable to charge our credit card on file for the renewal fee of $19,750.

We feel CA acted in bad faith by not reaching out to us regarding our impending auto-renewal.

We were locked into an auto-renewal with no option to opt-out. The auto-renewal would also add 4% to our renewal cost.

Contract’s estimated target dates of “Weeks 4 and 5” for “Full Product Launch” of the eBay and Amazon marketplaces were extremely unreasonable and misleading.

For 203 days out of 365, we were unable to use their service for our intended purposes which essentially resulted in a loss of $10,286 in the first contract year.

During those 203 days we were left in the dark as to when the issues would be fixed.

We believe ChannelAdvisor sold us an unfinished product and acted in bad faith by auto-renewing our contract knowing our intent to discontinue their service. During this process we have had major difficulties communicating with their staff to resolve this issue amicably.

On top of using an "evergreen clause" in their contract, we feel they also used rush tactics by giving us a "special discount" only valid for a week.

The total amount we are disputing is $29,786 for our loss during the first contract year and the entire renewal amount.

ChannelAdvisor has poor customer service, uses deceptive sales tactics, promises a lot, and delivers very little.

ChannelAdvisor a waste of time and money. AU$11,440+ wasted.

After being so very careful when dealing with cold call companies for many years I unfortunately succumbed to the expert sales techniques used by Channel Advisor.

The staff I believe are professional and highly inteligent. However, here is where this company falls very short of the mark. After requesting to use the marketing service that was on offer, I was coerced into accepting the ""paid search"" option of the service Channel Advisor platform with the belief that it would be managed by Channel Advisor. One week into discussing the service with our account manager we understood that our technologies where incompatible. I reviewed the Australian contract law to request a stay on our arrangement until our technology would be compatible.

Channel Advisor's response, you may guess the result, the introduction of the global legal team. Yes, within less than a week and with what i thought was goodwill from the local branch, our request to place a stay or termination of our account was DENIED. My belief is to work with the cards that you are dealt, so we incorporated an additioinal premium service to aid our service to be of some use. An additional $880 was inccurred for premium account assistance which led to nothing more than once again a waste of time and money.

We found ourselves locked into a contract for $880 a month for 12 months for a service that was not being provided. Despite a great ammount of work being performed from our end to make this venture work. As this company was American based, a great number of the features within the paid search actually worked against our company. Another blind side was that after working with the company, I received an email from Google mentioning/threatening that the ads created by ChannelAdvisor were in breach of trademark usage. Something I have never come across myself until the introduction of their service.

With the number of brands that we carry entering into the hundreds we carry we now found that our completely functional and terrific Adwords account was now in jeopardy of being banned. Channel Advisor response was to go back to the lay use of uncategorised, unbranded creation of paid search terms! Thank you but this i could have managed from our end. We had also been advised to cancel our existing account and pass all of our budget towards the channel advisor campaign. lol. The whole encounter has been a waste of time, a waste of investment and the unfortunate creation of a great deal of frustration.
