Charlotte Pediatric Clinic Reviews

  • Jul 18, 2015

5 star clinical staff (its a shame the physicians and clincial staff is so wonderful) but sadly 1 star to the front office/ no stars to the manager or whomever Johanna is, she does not identify herself as to what her role in this office is. Nor is she professional at that matter. Working in this industry myself what I encountered here today by Johanna V. Was absolutely the most absurd, unprofessional behavior I have ever seen. It is no wonder the healthcare system is messed up. It starts in the offices.

I am a proactive patient being that I run a office myself. I also have issues with my insurance but I always pay my bills or communicate with the billing department of CPC. I am not a deadbeat patient or trying to not pay. I actually was trying to give them money today but Johanna was obviously more concerned with scamming me and working the insurance game at my.daughters expense.. See, I dont have medical coverage its termed I have the certificate of coverage with the termintion date..

I wanted to be a self pay, had already spoken to the billing department via email everything squared away. And you having an email and a name of who you spoke to in the billing department does not matter. She kept saying i dont know Phyllis as if i was making something up. No Phyllis is legit here is the email and she goes off of what ypur self pay plan states...on the public website. BUT because someone on Johanna V's team (she kept calling them the registar) said i have active coverage then who cares that I know I dont. She (johanna v) came and got me away from my child, who, mind you was having her 15 month visit, never introduced herself she never listened to me she treated me as a deadbeat patient and humilated me so much that it upset me that I have no clue what was even said in my daughters well visit.

She basically said im filing your insurance regardless of what i said. And she never closed the conversation gave a solution or resolution. Apologized on behalf of the situation or anything that a true professional.would do. She took the nurse Connie who had already started my daughters appointment (whom is wonderful) and spoke privately with out my permission on a matter of my childs care. That in Johanna V's words would be "different" due to me being self.pay. So my child would get treated differently because im not using insurance??? And let me tell you the exact reason she turned something so simple into the absolute most humilating and disgusting debacle I have ever seen. Because well visits thru again my terminated insurance are covered at 100% she can file to the max from the actual immunization to the administration of it.

So your looking at a 1200$ roughly bill vs a self pay cant charge to the gills with a 25% discount. She would then lock me in at that what she called "active" insurance and when they denied the 1200$ bill who has to pay it? Myself. So then if I dont I go to collections why? All because she wants the higher cost and lock that in. She (johanna v) is the true epitome of a non professional, and her front team follows her lead. Very scary considering that the doctors and their clinical staff work so hard to give the best most knowledgeable care. Sad when your child is treated by the front staff as a dollar sign rather than a patient.

Again, I am not a deadbeat patient, proactive with my bills, and upfront and honest with them. She (Johanna V.) treated me today as if i was the complete opposite. In my management position i would never speak to the mother of patient let alone any one the way she did. I apparently had really good insurance because even though its termed and her team didnt do there job to check that term date, she sure wants to file it. The craziness to all this is there billing department who I spoke to a day prior made it seem like it was so simple. So much for trying to be a good patient, with this group your treated badly either way.

Oh, unless you have insurance. So I sit here now very disheartened because the trust I had with the office I chose for my little one because I went there as a little girl, I see has fallen into the insurance game severely and it makes me wonder did she recieve the upmost care she deserved, or was it a lower grade care because I was self pay. Ive never been treated badly for WANTING to pay my bill. My recommendation is if you have to deal with front desk or Johanna V who ever she is in this office, ask to deal with her supervisor. Everyone has a boss.
