I was called 6 months after so- called charge. I remeber specifically canceling card and paying dfebt. Cause theres a sears mastercard and sears store card both owned by citibank. citi owns sear, stores owned by Kmart. both cards owned by Citibank. I specifically remember closing account and paying balance. Original call was returned voicemail got info that I owed 100$ for 404 charge. Tried to dispute- needed date of transaction. Called dispute line they wanted Date of Birth and Social Security. I'm concerned about giving that information to people I believe are running a scam. I couldn't get date of transaction to check my bank records even though I got info earlierwith phone numberThey've had my wrong adress ( they said ) for three years cause I moved but I know I've been through this with them before.
My Payroll card was compromised as I went to pay a bill and saw that there were numerous PENDING transactions originating out of New York City, I live in Alaska. I immediately called Citi Prepaid Payroll Card Service to report the FRAUD. I was told my card would be cancelled, a new card would be issued and the money returned by the followoing Tuesday, 1 week.
The FRAUD transactions happened in one day, took all the money, the entire pay check.
I called the followoing Monday to check on the status of the new card and return of funds only to be told that a Fraud Investigation must take place and that I need to file a Fraus Form and the process will take approximately 2 weeks. I HIT THE SKIDS! Total BULLSHIT! Citi Bank was responsible for securing my money yet handed it out in a State across the country and I have to wait 3 weeks for their fraud investigation. I notified Citi Bank prior to the transactions clearing the bank. Yet was told the transactions must clear before Fraud can be filed. What a CROCK! They could have stopped the transfer of money, which they say they can not do.
I belive Citi Bank to be another large RIP OFF institution. I requested refund of late fees on my bills, they said there is such service.
Cit BAnk is a FRAUDULENT Banking Institution not to be trusted with your hard earned money. Yet, the bank will penalize you for late payments on youir credit report, yet do nothing to ensure the consumer payments are on time when paid through Citi Bank. It's all a Lie! Dig a hole in your back yard, and bury what you earn, you can't even withdraw your money without a penalty. I am consulting an attorney about the behavior of this Bank.

It promised 18 months of zero interest and 20,000 bonus points if $3500 dollars was charged to the card during the first three months of the account opening date. I purchased a new riding lawn mower and several accessories during the first week the account was opened that met that criteria. After waiting more than three months Citi has failed to apply the promised 20,000 bonus points. They did apply the 18 months of zero interest. Frequent calls, emails and chat sessions all ended up with customer service telling me I needed to fax in proof of my pre-approved offer or they would not apply the points. Since I had shredded that offer letter shortly after the application was approved I no longer had it in my possession. But who creates and mails out these offers with no records. The offer had a confirmation number associated with it. I opened up a complaint with the BBB and again Citi declined to apply the promised points. Beware if you are accepting a pre-approved offer from Citi and hang on to all of the documentation. They are deceptive with their marketing strategies. Better yet stay far away from this company that is undergoing financial difficulties.
