Long story short: I ordered a book online, canceled it half hour later, called the co next day etc. They already ran my card. So they issued a cancelation so they wouldn't collect on the money. I was told by Citi that if I had them write a letter, provide all this info, the receipts for both the purchase and the cancel etc they would refund it.

Needless to say three days later, tons of talk time, multiple people, sending the letter 5 different times b/c they needed NEW information everytime I did what they told me the time before. Now I'm being LIED to b/c their "specialist" stated they did not get the receipts although I was already previously told they did! They're basically finding new reasons to NOT issue a damn refund! First time: Do this and we'll get it to you in 2 hours. Then: "Oh it could take up to 3 days." "Oh its going to take 8 days." "Oh it could take up to 30days for this." SERIOUSLY!?!

Total fraud bullshit company when it comes to the student refund money. I like getting the card instead of a check but not only do they charge you $.50 per transaction when you use it as a debit but trying to get refunds etc is "up to 30 days." NONE of the customer service reps are American and/or speak clear English, NONE of them ever tell you the same thing twice. Ridiculous. I'm making it a personal mission to get the entire Maricopa Community Colleges to a new program.

I was a tenant where I paid a deposit of $3,800 to my landlord who refunded this deposit when I moved out. The landlord knew me as Kathy as this is the name I use most of the time for friendly relationship and others know me as Kathleen for more professional relationships.

My landlord banked at CitiBank where I do not have an account. I do have accounts at Chase, Wells Fargo and Bank of America. Once I received the check I took it to the Oakland/Federal - Fort Lauderdal location (3101 N Federal Hwyl, Suite 100, Fort Lauderdal, FL 33305) to simply cash it. I was prepared to pay a fee but I was absolutely not prepared for what happened. They refused to cash their customers check!

This is how it went down... I presented the check to the teller (Angela) and simply said I would like to cash this. She asked for my debt card and I said I don't have an account, your customer does. She said "in this case I will need the following:

1. Social Security Number

2. My Occupation

3. My ID

Now I thought this was very unusual... And somewhat of an invasion of privacy. I don't give my social security out to anyone and I report any money that I make, however I was willing to do it as I had nothing to hide. Now for the discrimination and aboslutely failed customer service (does CitiBank want more customers?).

My landlord knows me by Kathy, my driver's license knows me by Kathleen. The teller said she needed to get her supervisors approval. I waited and waited and finally walked into the supervisors office (how difficult could this really be?). I walked in and simply said "I can make this easy, here are two credit cards with Kathy and two credit cards with Kathleen, I also had a drivers license and my passport with me. I was told to leave the office immediately, "Anglea needed to speak to the VP confidentially..." I was waived out of the office to wait outside. Discrimination: What took 3 minutes to discuss and why was it so confidential?

The teller walked out with a smirk on her face and said, "Like I said, we can't cash it". I immediately went into Marlelena Diaz's office only to have her say the same thing. I layed two credit cards down with Kathy, two with Kathleen and my drivers license. She told me my only recourse was to have my landlord issue a new check in the right name. I told her "to forget that, I was not going to inconvience their customer; I would simply deposit the check with Chase and they could get my money for me "and they did!

I immediately went to Chase Bank and deposited the check and asked what they would do in the same situation. I was told that part of their training was to verify nicknames and that certainly they would have cashed the check and charged me $6, it seems that Kathy/Kathleen is not difficut. I have receved checks drawn on Wells Fargo made out to Kathy and they cash them and do not charge me. After Chase, I went to Band of America and asked them what they would do, and they told me "Kathy is short for Kathleen, everyone knows this, they just wanted to keep the money longer or they just didn't want to cash it for you".

When a bank fails to value their customers (I was told to have their client reissue the check) and uses their power to make a non-client NEVER WANT TO OPEN AN ACCOUNT they have gone too far. But when a tellar smirks at me and a Vice President fails to fill the gap between rules and reason, both are not longer necessary. I personally suggest that both are terminated.

PEOPLE, IF YOU WANT THE CHECKS YOU WRITE TO BE HONORED, DON'T BANK WITH CitiBank!

I thought government had put in place legislation that prevented banksyers from putting expiration dates on gift cards, but apparently Citibank is exploiting some lophole. i just found out that my visa rebate card had expired after only six months! It's ridiculous that government allows the banksters to cheat people in this way. Citibank has been using my rebate money to make money for all this time and then they just confiscated my money on Feb. 1st.

They don't say that I owe them any money.

However, they keep calling my phone and asking to talk to someone else (who probably does owe money, but that's not the point). I am the only person who has had my phone number for over eight years. They should have stopped calling my phone number after the first or second time that I told them that the phone number was not the phone number for the person whom they are trying to call. But they kept calling.

The irony is that my parents are big fans of this company and I might have used them someday. But now I probably won't.

I have NRI/NRO rupee account with Citi NRI bank. I have been requesting to close the account since Jan 2014 with several phone and e-mail contacts and provided all requested documents to verify my identity. The bamnk manager's name is Ashis Ananda. I also provided information with where to send the balance amount after closing the account.

After several requests, the bank failed to take any action. I wouldn't have any business with Citi bank in any form.

This is a warning about Citicard Visa/Master Card. I happen to pay off my Visa card feb let’s just say a few thousand, or so I thought I left $9 still unpaid. One month and a half later I decide to take a vacation so I purchased a few things with this card it all went well until the 23 of the month rolled around apparently the $9 dollars was now $69 with two late fees and a strike on my credit I immediately called and try to fix the problem at which they said they could do nothing so I paid it. Angry but vacation coming the following month I decide to let it go. I left on the 22nd all is well get. I bring only one ID , passport, and one credit card can you guess which one. Once in the foreign country I try using it only to get restricted as suspected bad activity I called and let them know all is fine, but all is not fine as I ran out of cash luckly I had enough to pay for meals, gift ect.., because the Visa would not work I was down to the last day to pay the Hotel. Well because of the $9 dollars they lowered my credit so I could not pay my hotel. I called them and asked why and then help to which their favorite response was sorry. Literally they left me stranded in a foreign country, how is that for customer service lowering your credit in mid-vacation. Thank god I was in a country with family and not somewhere else where I could have been arrested. NEVER will I ever use Citicard and I would heed you guys to change to a better more customer friendly card. I hope this never happens to you, CITICARD is the absolute worst card I have ever had. Please pass this on to everybody to raise awareness.

They contacted me and left a message on my cell. I called them back and left a message. but the person on the other end said that they were Adam with Citibank and that he was away from his desk and to leave a message. So I did. They returned the call and verified my email address and my address. They informed me that i qualified for a loan from $1000-$10,000. Then I put my husband on the phone as I could not understand them. They informed my husband to buy a "green dot money voucher for $4.95, and put the first months installment of $155 on it" then call them back. We we're going to get $5000.00. We went to Wahlgreens to get it and noticed that on the card that the limit that could be loaded was $20-$500.00. And my husband and I decided against it, because how were they going to put the money on it if it had a limit of $500. they at first asked if we had a bank account, I was leary about that so i told them that we didn't. One of the clerks at Wahlgreens told us that they have sold a lot of the cards because someone told them the same thing we were told. I googled the phone number and was shown it was in Texas and that it was not a spam number. but after we found about the limit of the card, we decided against it.

Citibank is hitting us with a $12,000.00 pre-penalty payment after 7 years of perfect payments. They would not refinance our loan when we made multiple attempts to do so. We were forced to go elsewhere. We feel lied to and scammed. Upper management was just about impossible to reach, took us calling everyday for three weeks just to get a return call. We want our pre-penalty payment dismissed.

A home Lending specialist named Ariel Szanto at Citibank NA at 1400 research Blvd in ROckville MD, 20850

without my knowledge or authorizatio nand in fact against my instructions used personal information--ss number and bank loan information to open a high cost 30 year fixed loan application in my name when I simply

asked him for information on the affordable OBAMA programs-- HARP and HAMP programs, Reset information onmy second deed of trust as well as cash out rates for a 7 year arm. I gather he did this to meet quotas for writing applications, but it harmed me by preventing me rom applying elsewhere and giving false information to credit bureaus which affects your credit rating.

I reported this to his supervisor who supposedly closed the false account that i never applied for but he claimed he could not write the credit bureaus on my behalf which costs me my time and aggravation to do so to remove this false application from my history.

BEWARE OF LOAN OFFICERS At this bank. When I asked the supevisor bout HAMP he indicated I would have to call customer service and didn't think I qualified unless I didn't pay my mortgage one month. This is wholly incorrect.

THe banks are still trying to scam people and not abide by OBAMAS new regulations on giving proper information on affordable loan programs.

Citibank Student Loan Corporation as it was known when I consolidated a Federal Student Loan with Citibank

committed fraud against myself and the US Department of Education and the taxpayers.

It all started in September 2000 when Citibank and other Lending Institutions were competing to get student loans into their coffers. They were being paid a fee to handle those loans and also they would receive interest when the loans were repaid. This was all with a 100% percent guarantee from the Federal Government through the US Department of Education and Loan Guarantee Agencies. They discovered that it was far more profitable to default loans so they joined up with Edfund which was supposed to be a nonprofit agency owned by California Student Aid Commission. Citibank paid kickbacks to UCLA to be their premier lender. The financial aid couselor told me, Citibank will be on your credit report and that will be better than having William D. Ford student loan on your report. So consolidate your federal loan with Citibank and you will be in great shape. Within two weeks of consolidating my loan, my $150k credit line was destroyed. The worst credit on your report is to be delinquent on a federal student loan. While you are attending school, your loan is supposed to be in deferrment automatically and the US Government pays interest on that loan to the lender, Citibank. Citibank used a third world country to handle the loan documents unknown to me. Of course they screwed up the whole loan consolidation. I was reported delinquent on my student loan even though I was in school. I send letters to Citibank only to get letters back from their paralegal who reversed the whole loan into a unsubsidized loan.

Unsubsidized meant that Citibank was not entitled to interest payments from the US Government. They collected the payments, reported me delinquent and refused to correct their mistake. Living in California with bad credit is impossible. I tried to contact the US Department of Education and they refused to do anything and kept telling me to call the lender. So I called the loan guarantee people who were in on a scam to default loans and they would not help me either. This went on for four years and then I had to leave California, give up my career in the motion picture industry, and move to the east coast. I tried unsuccessfully to get help there.

In 2005, they illegally defaulted the loan and collected a refund on the loan through Edfund. Meanwhile I had

Edfund auditited by the California Department of Audits and they were embezzling large amounts of money.

I tried to contact the Attorney General and the Inspector General about my case, I got ignored completely.

After about 30 phone calls, I finally got the Inspector General to answer the phone and he stated that I should file a keytam lawsuit. He also hinted that Edfund was in trouble. I told him that Edfund and Citibank were

stealing money by illegally defaulting student loans. Eventually California Student Aid Commission looses their

contract with the US Goverment to handle student loans. They transfer all the loans to some other state and the same scamming employees are now handling those loans. As for my loan, Edfund finally handed it back to the

US Government Default Resolutions Group in July2009. They lied and stated that I was not sending them letters even though they were certified letters. I asked them to investigate the illegal default, and they refused and continued to lie even though I sent certified letters to the Counsel General which is the lawyer for the Department of Education. They made incriminating statements and so I asked for documents from the

Freedom of Information section of the US Department of Education who also lied and refused to give me documents on the refund Citibank received. I finally convinced the Department of Education direct student loan to send me copies of the check they refunded to Citibank for the consolidation. Then Citibank transferred their customer service to India. I was able to shanghai an Indian woman to send me a complete printout of my whole loan record from Citibank. Citibank caught on and tried to delete most of the record but some idiot left a crucial page in the document which clearly shows how they lied and defrauded the government on the interest. They added money to the original loan balance instead of subtracting it and then

charged the US Government interest on a higher amount. They never corrected the loan as they stated in numerous letters to me. I took them into federal court and I am sure they paid their lawyer more than

the entire amount of the loan and the interest. I made sure they lost every cent. The Judge asked me to take my lawsuit to the Civil Court. I decided not to do that. Instead I had the entire loan wiped out because I am

now legally disabled. I am writing this rip off report to warn all parents and students. do not take out student loans. The US Government has refused to protect your rights, and until they do that you will not be

safe. The following is a link to numerous horror stories about Citibank Student Loan

wallstreetonparade/why isnt the US Department of Justice investigating Citibank Student Loan?

They keep changing their name so that people cannot sue them. A federal court in Brooklyn New York

ignored their request to throw out my lawsuit because I used this name that was printed on my loan

documents. They tried to lie and say all loans were given to Chase and another bank.

Even though I did not win a judgement I won something more important and its public information.

The judge stated there was clear and convincing evidence of fraud on Citibanks part. I also sued California

Student Aid Commission who never responded to the lawsuit.
