Citigroup Inc Reviews

Jan 2015 Citibank charged over $5000 to my card from a local merchant. The merchant didn't use my name, number, security code or zip code. I called Citibank as soon as I saw the statement and was told they were closing my card, filing a fraud investigation and issuing a new card. I contacted the merchant, who was extremely confused, for the reasons stated above. Fast forward to April 2015 when Citibank STILL won't remove the charges, and won't tell me why. Every time I talk to them, it's "2 to 3 business days"... the merchant has attempted several times to run it thru as a credit to be posted, but Citibank doesn't accept it. I am at my wits' end.

I kept getting offer letters from Citi bank for their Preferred Thank You Card. Each letter offer came with more bonus points than the last. I caved at 30,000 and applied online using their SPECIAL INVITATION NUMBER. I was instantly approved with a $5000 Limit. After about a month and a half I still didn't see my 30,000 bonus points show up even though I spent the required amount before the first 3 months. So I chatted online with one of their online agents. The agent told me that I had to wait two billing cycles for the points to show up.

I thought that was fair enough so I waited. After two billing cycles I again chat online with one of their reps. This time I am told I do not have any bonus points coming to me. I WAS SHOCKED! I asked for a phone number to speak to someone. They gave me the number and I called. After speaking with one of their associates I demanded to speak with a manager. They then transferred me. The gentleman I spoke with again told me that I did not apply for the card through their invitation and had no bonus points coming to me.

He then said he would have someone investigate my claim and if they found an error I would be given the points. Two days later I get an email saying I will receive NO BONUS POINTS. WHAT A SCAM THIS IS! They get you to sign up promising bonus points and then you get the card and they WEASEL out of giving you WHAT THEY PROMISED! How shady is that?!?!?! I thought this was Citi Bank, the highly regarded CITI BANK! Feels more like one of those fly by night shady credit card companies, DESPERATE to get customers by lying if necessary!

Joe Morcerf is a racist. He wants to live as far away from black people as possible. That's why he lives in Rocky Point Long Island. If you look a little white and he's not sure how white you are, he goes crazy. Citigroup should be proud of him. He's worked there his entire life, good for nothin, this man is pure evil.

I went into citibank to open a checking account to have my checks set up for direct deposit. As the bank rep ran a check on me. She stated that there was a fraud alert placed on my record with check systems. She confered with the bank manager if I provided proof of an identiy theft I had filed a year before if that would be ok to open the account. He stated that it would be ok to open the account with the proof of the idenity theft infromation affidavit. I brought the information back to that bracnh as requested and the account was opend. Three days later. I called the automated system to check my account balance only to find out that the same branch that opended my account had place a block on my account. When I called the branch manager to ask why my account had been blocked. The same manager who ok the account had placed a block on the account. But he stated that the other department that reviews acccounts like mines did not accept the idenity theft paper work that was included with openining the account. So I was told to withdraw the remaining balance and the other review department was closing the account. Well. That was a LIE!!!!! After withdrawing my money. I recieved an email from citibank stating that my account was not overdrawn by 3.64 and that that was the reason for the block being on my account. I asked if the account was about to be closed. I was told NO!!! There where no notes of any kind indicating that the account had been block because it was in the process of being closed. So after paying the negative balance and ordering a new debit card. That same branch placed a new block on my account.
