CNA National Warranty Corporation Reviews

  • Apr 29, 2014

I am currently in a battle with CNA national warranty corporation because they are not honoring what is covered in my contract with them. first i would like to state that around the end of December of 2013 i brought my car to carmax where i purchased my car and also issued the warranty. i needed my ac blower motor replaced and my transmission fixed because i was having a really hard time getting into 2nd gear. i had no issue getting the ac fixed and moved onto the transmission problem, greg Vassion from carmax sent me to freeman Toyota because he said they didn't do transmissions there. so i went there and was introduced to Scott Burchfield and he took my car and they diagnosed it to be the synchronizer for 2nd gear, he called the warranty company and told them the problem and and they approved the claim and i got the car fixed no issues. well fast forward to 4-14-14 and im having the same problem in 4th gear. so i go to carmax again and Greg sends me back to freeman Toyota and they take it and i get a call from Scott a couple days later asking me to okay the tear down of the transmission for $910.00 cause the warranty company wants to make sure that it is a covered part and if it inst that im liable for the $910.00, well sense its the same problem as last time and a little reassurance from Scott saying that i have nothing to worry about i go ahead and okay the tear down. so they do the tear down and and tell the warranty company that not only is 4th gear bad but all the gears are pretty much going bad and highly recommend a brand new transmission cause rebuilding it would cost more, then the warranty company replies to me and Scott saying that they want to send an inspector out to look at it and they will get back with me, this was Friday the 18th of April 2014 the weekend goes by and i get a call from Scott on Monday telling me that they have denied my claim. so i call and talk to one of the claim agents, and ask why it was denied. he tells me a few different "assumptions" 1. is that the clutch caused the internal damage and that sense the clutch inst a covered part the claim wouldn't be covered because of the result of an uncovered part leading to the damage. 2. is that the slave cylinder was loose and caused the rough shifting therefore caused the internal damage. 3. being that the wrong fluid was in the transmission causing the gears to grind and 4. telling me that im the one that caused the gears to grind and that i intentionally did the damage. in a result of they're "reasons" why it was denied i asked for a supervisor and he told me the same thing and i explained to him that the clutch couldn't have caused the damage cause the clutch was still bolted up to the bell housing and the inspector couldn't even see the clutch, and also the fluid that was put in was what was recommended by the Toyota factory, and i also never had problems engaging the clutch cause all other gears have not been giving me any problems. so i asked him to send out another inspector and get another opinion, so he said will do. yesterday "4-23-14" the inspector comes out and i get a call today "4-24-14" with the warranty company telling me that the claim has been denied. they stated the same "reasons" as before. in the contract it states that everything mechanical is covered underneath the warranty and yet they refuse to honor it and give me vague reasons why they are denying my claim. i am going on 3 weeks without a car and i am now obligated to pay $910.00 that i shouldn't have to pay, and that's without getting my transmission fixed. i am very upset that i paid for a warranty and cant even use it. i hope that this company not only does whats right but what they are obligated to do by contract.
