My family and I decided to have Thanksgiving Day dinner at the Colony South Hotel and Conference Center.
I decided to do a site inspection prior to making a reservation. After about two visits, I was swindled into paying for my party in advance. I received a confirmation, and a receipt. The following day I received a call from a very rude, unprofessional Food and Beverage Manager, Karl Taylor. Please note, As I was trying to make my deposit with a credit card, I noticed that they were exercising poor credit card procedures. (writing your credit card information down on a piece of paper waiting to be processed the following day. So I opted to pay cash.
The following day, Mr. Karl Taylor called me at my place of business, to tell me that I needed to come and pay the tip! I explained to him that I was told that I could bring the tip on the day that I received services. He became to accusing me of not wanting to tip his staff, and expressing hisself in a manner that was overally offensive. I was appalled. So After I got off work, I went to the Colony South to report the poor behavior of Karl Taylor to the General Manager, Fernando Mayo.
As I was explaining my accounts of events to the General Manager, Fernando Mayo, he accuses me of lying and that he didn't want my business. In addition, he called the Police and told them that he wanted me off HIS premises. I never in my life, felt so humiliated. I was professional, calm and respectful. I did not deserve this type of treatment. After Fernando Mayo, refused to honor my reservation, he strongly refused to give me back my cash Deposit......In fact, he is trying to bribe me to remove my reviews in order to get my money back, which I refuse.
It is important to me that I give notice to the community of Fernando Mayo and Karl Taylor's behavior. and how their customer service techniques are sub par.
Since the passing of the Colony South Hotel and Conference Center, the property is pretty much unmaintained and poorly managed. In the absence of the new proprietors, Fernando Mayo acts in a deserving manner that is detrimental to the community.
