This is just some basic information about the worst company I have ever worked for from home. If you are reading this in order to check up on this company before deciding to work for them, this is where you will find out that you definitely DO NOT want to work for them. Convergys is the worst place I have ever been unfortunate to come across on my path to working from home. In the beginning, everything seems ok, and just like your run of the mill customer service job. Anyone who has done customer service in the past understands exactly what I mean. Simply help the customer, offer assistance, try to sell them something, and keep them happy enough not to want to cancel their services. Training was simple enough, although the pay is low, it was still acceptable when you think about all the other financial factors that you do not have to worry about: travelling to and from work daily, no gas to spend money on, no special attire or uniform to wear daily, ability to stay home with your family, and list goes on and on. Those financial factors mean nothing once you start working in the virtual office and trying to do your job with their computer programs. That is when you find out, all that you thought was so simple is not quite so easy to contend with.

You have to be really patient and decide it is okay for the system to be messed up everyday and to grit and bare it. I can't speak for anyone else, but I can say that this is a horrible place to work for. When you start to run into these problems, there is no real solution ever offered to truly fix the problems that you experience. So your Avaya program starts to cut in and out, drop calls, lose sound, go to the trauma center or helpdesk and they always say the same thing: reboot Citrix, do netgauge testing, if testing fails, call your ISP. That's a bunch of bull. Let me tell you, its never the problem of your ISP, it is Convergys. There programs suck so badly and they are so worthless. They never want to accept responsibily for their equipment being the main issue. I have spoken to their helpdesk at least 3 out of 5 days every week, and they always either do something to make things worse, or they do not do anything at all and the problem never gets resolved. Then even though it is their fault, if you are away from the work too long, they also want to stop paying you. They will tell you to logout and contact your ISP everytime they can't figure out what the problem is. They never admit that it is their problem!! I have wasted months of my time trying to work through their problems, it is a constant issue that never gets fixed. They do not care, and when the system is not disconnecting or dropping calls, those chats they insist you use never really helps either. All of their programs will malfunction at one time or another, and you will just be drained by the frustration you feel at trying to make it work.

Trust me, you do not want to make this job work. You want to run for the hills, when you hear Convergys knocking. Just don't waste your time. If you have been out of work for a while and still not finding work, my advice is to hang in there, you will find something else that is better than this place and you will be grateful you just kept trying to get another job. Good luck in finding a good place to work for. Otherwise, you may want to go into business for yourself, its a lot more rewarding.
