In Oct 2013 I signed up for Coventry one and then cancelled it in November 2013, after BCBS decided not to raise their rates on their customers. I never received any cards from this company which is how I know someone there knew it was cancelled. However, they withdrew $500 every month from our bank account- even though I was not using them and had cancelled over the phone. In Dec 2014, they sent me "renewal cards" (after never sending them the first time)- I realized they had been charging me and called. I was told to send proof of BCBS coverage for the year and I would get a refund. However, after about 10 hours on the phone and lots of run around, and supervisors NEVER able to talk, I was told they would only refund $1500 and keep $4500- even though I never used them, they never sent me cards for that year, I had proof of other insurance, and I had cancelled on the phone. They lied and are inappropriately greedy. Do not use this insurance company!

I received a letter from ConventyOne August 27, 2014. It clearly states my policy with them will end December 31, 2014, and it cannot be renewed. It also states before my policy ends, I will get information about plan options available to me.

I contacted my insurance agent. We found a new policy with a different company that began on January 1, 2015. Today I was checking my bank account and saw CoventryOne has drafted my account double what my "unrenewable policy" premium was.

I contacted CoventryOne. Their explanation is that they sent another letter to me on September 26, 2014 and the letter contained the plan they chose for me and the amount of my new premium. If I did not want the policy, I am to contact them to decline coverage. I asked if they sent it certified? Do they have proof I received the letter? The answer to both questions is no.

They say they will refund my money, but I have to provide proof that I am insured. My argument is they terminated our policy with the letter they sent in August. They have no right to issue a new policy or draft my account without permission or agreement from me.

I have bought insurance form Coventry One over the phone. During the conversation the representative told me and my husband that the company will cover everything for normal pregnancy. We looked at the contract, it says "Prenatal and postnatal care" for "In-network Provider" -- NO CHARGE. No deductible, no co-payments.

However, after I visited in-network OBGYN doctor, did normal tests and ultrasound using in-network facility they refused to cover bills, currently about $1,500. Now they claim that they cover only some bills but not other bills. They paid $0 (they did, however, adjustments) in my behalf. They claim, that I have to satisfy the deductible, $6,500, and only after that they will pay their share. So, basically, they are not apying anything.

I recommend you to avoid this insurance company, Coventry Health or Coventry One, as it lies in order to lure you into the contract and they will not pay what they have to.
