Credit Karma Reviews

Credit Karma is bogus. The supposed CEO comes in here, yet has no name or address? Your no CEO, who ever you are. Just like CarFax has a faceless, nameless CEO. Folks, Credit Karma might give you free information, but it's not going to be very accurate. I know far to many people that have gone to CK for a score report, the to a car dealership or their bank to get a , and the scores are way off, 70-150 points, usually lower, than actual.

So, #1, the information is free, but it's not accurate. #2: To get accurate info, use your once a year all three credit reports or get a credit card that usually will show you your current scores as a side service. Also, the BBB cannot be trusted because they are paid by the very companies they rate, so BBB is, in itself, a scam too. That's right, the BBB is run by the businesses it rates, controlled by those business. FTC, FBI, And Consumer Affairs needs to do something about these ruthless companies.

An folks, remember: if you see something on the Internet or on TV and it says free, beat your head into a wall 3x and realize nothing is free. Never has been, never will be. CreditKarma does charge a fee for your real credit score. I would not, however, trust or use a business that has little form of contact, no names of company officers from CEO down the ladder, etc. Do yourselves a big favor, do not use these services with CK. they are selling your info, that's how they are making $$, big money infact. Just get your once a year 3 free reports or get a credit card that hastbe option for monitoring your credit, many of them do these days. Avoid credit karma at all costs.

PS: It's a shame there's nobody out there to get rid of these bogus companies! Or to afraid to.

Credit Karma states that they give you credit scores that are close to the actual Credit scores reported by Equifax, Experian and Transunion but in fact they are 20-800 points lower than my actual scores..

They also provided me a list of "Recommended Lenders" to refinance my auto loan to lower my rate and payments based on the information provided to these lenders by Credit Karma. The fact is that the lender I chose from their "recommended list" denied my loan immediately.

This caused my scores to drop even further with an uncessary credit inquiry based on Karma's "recommendations".

In all, as they say" if it sounds too good to be true, it probably isn't".. I will not ever again apply for any loans recommended by Credit Karma nor rely on their Credit Scores..

Credit Karma is a chutzpah vendor and fraud. The stated numbers posted are not even close to reality or up-to-date; all of which leads to false or misleading perceptions. To make matters worse, there is no direct CONTACT with staff, and to cancel membership, one must make a request in writing using snail mail at the member's expense!

In other words, easy to join, difficult to quit, and without any way to dispute claims directly and in real time, the entire site is a self-serving yet shameless con-job.

Consumers beware!!

The TransUnion score that Credit Karma displays can be as many as 30 points less than what TransUnion states, and even after a whopping four months, an 80 percent improvement in credit utilization ratio, doesn't improve the member's FICO score in the positive by a single point.

After much research and some deductive reasoning, I see the flaw with the sneaky way credit Karma disguises itself trying to offer something for free, as if helping you for nothing ( highly highly suspect) I tried to give it a chance, but of course , anybody should be uneasy when a page reloads several times, acting like you have no credit history, and asking you to confirm again things like your SS number, which you might conclude was just entered previously, what is really going on is, it trys to be a free website, but how do they make their money?

Not just by the ads on the current page, but once they got your SS they become a outsourse for collection agencys. They work together acting as if its Free? No, its free information to collection agencys they pay them for to share.

How do you have enough money to have constant commericals on tv? $$$

How can you be on their website (and if you didnt have a speacial plugin to add to your browser, ie. firefox)know that up to 16 companies are tracking you?

It's selling of personal information , period!

Please, give this your attention, there is noway I'm the only one that sees this, but as a consumer, you dont feel you have that much of a voice. Why would anybody go through the effort of filing a report without reason?, as one you hope to be heard, I hope i join others on this . One cant win, its the support of others.

I now have to call all 3 credit angencys to place a alert.

Not Safe, behind the seens buisness practice

My 12 year old daughter checked my credit score on creditkarma.com and they have used the information to steal money from my account since Febuary 9. They make it very, very clear that it's totally free. "We don't even get your credit card information." They don't get your credit card number. They use your personal info (SSN, birthdate, etc.) to bill your account monthly. They steal money from people, they are a total scam, and no one does anything about it. I am amazed that they are able to do this in the United States. Every word I'm saying is true. If someone comes on here and tries to say otherwise, they have a hidden agenda. THIS REALLY HAPPENED TO ME!

If it were a person that scammed my 12 year old kid for my personal information and used it to steal money directly from my bank account, it wouldn't matter if they made her sign 4 encyclopedias of fine print, there is a 100% that they would be arrested and convicted. The only difference here is that this is much, much worse. I have $1000 put in my account a month to live on with 3 kids and this company with million dollars of commercials and advertising, has been stealing from me. I'm shocked and I can't get a lawyer to respond to my emails. They will get away with this and continue to make millions by stealing from people.

Okay I signed up for Credit Karma about 2 years ago and I did not catch this until now. I decided I needed to check my score from all bureaus on freecreditreport.com So I did. Now Credit Karma allows you to link your bank accounts so you can monitor them however this is what I found. I have always been current with my car payment and my 2 credit cards. Which is what those banks are reporting on Equifax and Experian. I noticed though that all 3 accounts were reported late on my transunion report. Not by the banks, but by Credit Karma!! See Credit Karma is with Transunion and when you link your accounts to Credit Karma. Apparently if you are a day late Transunion sees it and reports you late on your credit report.

These actions are illegal!! Only the banks should be reporting whether you are late or not. Not Credit Karma!! Please I urge nobody to use this service I mean for $20 for you to check your credit report on those other sites I would say that is worth totally getting screwed over by Credit Karma. Not only that, but under the Credit Reporting Act all bureaus have to share the same information. So where does this fall? It falls into not just Credit Karma performing illegal acts, but Transunion as well.

I have a Grace Period on my car Credit Karma did you know that? Banks do not report you delinquent until you are 30 days late on your bill. Not 2 days late and see that is what happened here. Credit Karma sent me an alert that I was 2 days late on a Credit Card payment. Guess what Credit Karma did? They reported me late on my Transunion credit report. This company is terrible news. Not only that, but I learned they are free by selling your private information. This is not cool!!

Okay, here's the deal. We signed up for Credit Karma about a month ago.

You get a free credit score through Trans Union and you can keep checking back as often as you like, no charge.

There is additional information regarding how you can improve your credit score including hiring people to help.

There is also additional information presented to you regarding interest rate lowering credit cards.

Now, you must read the fine print, because they have to make money of course. This is how we think they do it.

Your name, number and address are sold off to a lot of high pressure creditors.

They will start calling you soon after your account is initiated. You will also receive things in the mail.

Just because you are on the federal do not call list doesn't matter. Expect your phone to ring off the hook 24/7.

In your agreement, you said it is okay to be contacted by their advertising partners.

It's a trade off. Your personal information for a free credit score.

Good luck...

BTW,

don't trust the review sites. They are bogus.
