Credit One Bank Reviews

I need help. I applied for a credt card. I activated credit card July 16. 2015. July 18th got a pill to pay $81.96. I have never used card. This was for CreditCard and one year menbership. That is not the problem. I set a payment plan from my own Citibank account. SO I made the full payment. Citibank paid Credit One Bank on July 21st. But $84.96 was taken from my checking account. On July 21th, Credit One Bank asked for some data, I did it. Was asked for a $25 payment. So I paid . Wen I talked to customer service about the bill I was given the run around and told it was my problem My Bank paid both bills to credit one. They claimed only the $25 payment not the $84.96. This upset me because they do want to solve the Problem. But thay want another payment on 8/7/15. That is over payment on the real Bll of $84.96. I have call some 7 times ad get no answer. They say it is all my fault. They take the money but wish not to credit my account. Is that legal????I need your help and advise. I just want Credit One Bank to fix it. I pay what I owe but do want toget credit for the payment. I am working with Citibank also. Can you help me? Tank you. Rene, Van Nuys, Calif.

I had this card for about a yr , When I 1st received the card offer I thought it was Capital One bank logo and name look and sound very similar I think, I thought it was a Cap. One upgrade I have been using Cap one card for 15 yrs. and my own personal bank card for 30 yrs. and a Chase Bank card never ever any unfounded charges with either. I used this card just once last summer paid the bill in full upon date due. I had a zero balance on it I tried to cut the account off sent letters and tried to call never could reach a human.

I found the Las Vegas local number on line called them today I had a trip out of town for a week came home yesterday got a rude person with a bad manner to call me stating my account was past due . I asked how could that be I never used this card then he went of to tell or try to tell me in very bad English I could not understand that there is a 8.89ct monthly charge to have this card if I don't charge on it and I owed them 25.00 for the 8.99 and the late charges. I think that's what he said hard to understand .

I today found a number to call and speak with a person and man talk about high pressure and all but denying my wish to cancel the card ,They was waving the fees and will give me the 25.00 back and I kept saying I just want to cancel the account was falling on deaf ears.. After I said it a few times then I get well there will be more fees maybe later on ? I said fine I'll have my attorney to pay them.. I want this card closed out and I we you nothing I have a zero balance now and that's all I plan on paying in the future is zero.. Lady got snippy and said fine and hung up.. I would never deal with this so called bank ever again and I will check my credit scores monthly too see if they try too pull anything ..Just stay away from this bank is the best I could suggest to anyone

I have been with credit one bank for over six months. Always made my payments before the payment was due and always paid to bring my balance to a zero balance each month. I was getting this card to help with my credit since I couldnt get help anywhere else. I always paid with a credit card and the one month that I decided to pay with my checking account the payment didn't go through. I didn't know with the type of checking account I had that it could only be used for direct deposit or purchases throght the debit card. I explained to credit one bank about the suituation and they told me that I had to get a validation letter from my bank. I go to the bank and they said they have never heard of a letter of validation. Needless to say credit one bank cancelled my card and suspended my account. And no one has been of any assistance to me.

I have had this credit card for several years. I have become unemployed and simi retired trying to get a job. I thought I would use the Credit Protect that I had been paying for some time. They said I qualified and were going to help me. They paid only for one month and I wasn't notified that they stoped the second month. So after recieving their phone call I immediately paid for two months. Telling them that I thought the credit protect was going to help me. they said I never sent a paper to them that I had not received. I ask them to email it to me as I live in a remote area. They said that they would and never did. I tried making a payment on the phone and they switch me to some music and let me just sit there. So I hung up and called again to make a payment as the on line wasn't working. I fell I am being sabatoged. I called back and tried to make a payment than they said I had to pay an extra nine dollars. Than they said he would help me and after hung up on me again. The web site will not take my id and password, and is closed till next week. I keep calling the phone number that says on the statement that it is 24/7 which is not true and they will not help me. They want to make me late and derrogatory. Do not do business with them as they are scammers.

My name is thomas of orange county california and i recently applied for a credit one visa for myself and my wife and we got approved with a $300 limit i was happy but then the walls came crashing down on us, we get our first bill and it stated:

$19 for additional card which is mentioned on website

$75 annual membership fee which apparently is mentioned and i overlooked somehow but know better now

when i made my first online payment my balance was $94, $19 for additional card and $75 annual fee, well after making a $50 payment and showed it being posted next day on 05.04.2015, i was happy then on 05.08.2015 is see on account my $50 payment rejected due to they claimed i didn't enter bank routing # and account # correctly and i had a huge brawl with them on phone and told them i'm paying balance off for their accusing me and they told me they would close account at my request and i wouldn't be responsible for any charges, that was music to my ears.

bottom line: DON'T DEAL WITH CREDIT ONE BANK FOR THEIR LOGO IS SIMILAR TO CAPITAL ONE AND THAT'S CONFUSING AND THAT'S THE WAY THEY INTENDED.

this bank to me is a big scam and possible fraud and i'm so releaved i closed my account after reading other complaints agains this bank. to my wife and myself their real poachers. they will do what it takes to make all siturations to their advantage, well i'm not stupid and their very rude.

bye credit one bank and may you go out of business soon.

First of all great job on the logo design. Credit One designed their logo to look just like Capital One.

Secondly, this company is outsourced.

I was in the process of trying to rebuild my credit and the "Pre-qualified" letter from Credit One came at the perfect time. I knew I had bad credit and I thought that by being "Pre-qualified" that I was going to be getting a low limit credit card from them. 2 weeks later I get a letter saying that I was denied for various reasons. Not only that, there is a HARD INQUIRY on my credit report which totally backfired on me because I'm trying to rebuild my credit.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS FAKE CAPTIAL ONE COMPANY!!! CROOKS!

I was put on hold for 17mins to talk to a supervisor and told him to explain to me what "Pre-qualified" meant. Basically all you have to do to be"Pre-qualified" is you have to be human.

I make all payments on time by the due date, yet if the amount is not exact of minimum payment due they add $35 late fee to your account without you even knowing of this. Credit One harassed us for wo weeks for $35 even thoug we make our payments on ti me every month. They had people callign from Dubai center to collect $35 are you kidding me. They called my phone in one day 25 times. Never will i deal with Credit one again. Paying this card of and good riddens. I have heard it is against the law to charge someone a late fee even when they are making payments on time.

I got a credit card offer in the mail from Credit One Bank. This offer stated that the annual fee was $ 35.00. I went to their website to apply and was immediately approved. When the card arrived, I activated the card. The terms that came with the card advised that the annual fee was $ 75.00 first year and $ 99/year thereafter.

That was not the original terms that was approved for. When I contated the customer service team, I reached a call center that was outsourced in the Phillipines. I advised the agent what I was calling about and was offered to credit half of the annual fee that was billed onto my account. I waited a few days later and registerd the account online and noticed that only $ 25.00 of the annual fee was credited onto my account. I called back. Another rep in the Phillipines and asked for a manager. I then proceeded to explain and she said me that if I wanted a rep in the US, to call back during business hours.

After contacting the US based representative, which her name was Nancy, she advised me that her managers name was Eileen, but that they only amount that would be credited back to the account would be $ 25.00. I explained that the previous original rep stated half would be credit back, she still continuted to advise that only $ 25.00 would be credit back. I am calling them back and cancelling the card. This is totally unacceptable for them to do this and state one thing and do something else.

I was a victim of Identity theft and for 6 months I have been fighting with them to close the account and remove it from my credit report. They keep saying they've "mailed" me information that I need to fill out and return. But not only have they not mailed me anything, each time I call they tell me a different time that they actually "mailed" it to me. Not once repeating the same day (or even the same week). I've even disputed it with all 3 credit bureau's and they even "lied" to them saying the account is mine, so it keeps getting updated on my credit report. NOW! their latest scam is they say that they can't access my account anymore because there was a hold put on it because they were informed I was DECEASED! So, now they want me to mail my pay-stub and/or W-2 so the block can be unlocked! I honestly can not believe there is a company like this in business in the USA!!!

For the past four months I have not received my statement on a regualar basis and thus I have been incurring late charges. I was told by the bank to go online if i do not receieve my statement, however, the reason why I elect to have a printed version is to keep track of the statements in a file. I believe this is an intension ploy by the bank to charge late fees to increase their revenue. Because it has happened more than once, i am filing this report.

Allan Shutt is a financial services attorney for Credit One Bank and perhaps some debt collection companies which own Credit One Bank.

Allan Shutt has purposely removed negative data from my credit report and reinserted under the guise of CREDIT ONE BANK, not Capital One Bank.

Whatever you do, do not open an account with Credit One Bank. If you are sued in Nevada, you should personally sue Allan Shutt for any violations of the FCRA or any other law that protects consumers. You may also file arbitration against Allan Shutt individually and against their CEO Robert Dejong for their deceptive practices and defamation.

Credit One Bank sent an unsolicited credit card application to my home which offered a credit line of "up to" $1,000. After reviewing the forms, I was confused if Credit One and Capital One were one and the same. Now I know, they are not.

Shortly after receiving the card which had a credit line of $300, I was immediately charged (out of the credit line) $75. This immediately dropped my FICO score.

After the first year, the annual fee increased to $99 which was billed in monthly installments. I paid the entire balance off, which actually had to be determined by their Chief Lawyer, but before that I went ahead and paid more than the balance due.

To this date, Credit One and Allan Shutt are reporting incorrectly on my credit file willfully and with malice. This bank will not improve your FICO score, nor will you receive a $1,000 credit line. Instead, you will be taken advantage of to the tunes of perhaps $1,000s on a credit line of $300.

CEO Robert Dejong has turned Credit One into a money maker with these tactics which should be investigated by the FTC as deceptive trade practices. Allan Shutt should be disbarred.

Credit One Bank recieved and processed a cashiers check from me on 9/8/2014 for $1000.00. This was given to me to cover some dental expense. Once processed by Credit One my balance was +543.00 anything I owed Credit One. Instead they froze my account. They requested and I delivered a Registered Letter to them from my bank. Credit One has recieved the money and the letter from my bank and will still not give me access to my funds, nor will they close the account and send me my $543.00.

I made my payment on the date due, they had it say that it was a pending. So i knew that I had the money in my account so I never went back to check until I got a call on 8/5/2014 saying i did not make a payment. So I try to call and talk to a representative, of course like a legitimate company if you press 0 you will be transfered to someone, but not in this case. You have to hold on the line until you reach someone.

So finally Kelly answered the first time and I told her that I made my payment on time and that the late fee needs to be waived because I was not paying a late fee for not being late on my account. She said she was not the correct department and transfered me again. So i did the same thing put my credit card number in and then waited. I then talked to a Lisa and she told me she would have to get her supervisor to waive it. Scott then answred and said if i provide my bank information to him that he would process the payment and then would waive the fee. I told him that I already made the $25 payment online before i talked to anyone because I couldn't figure out how to get anyone on the phone. I asked if he see's the pending transaction and he said yes, so i said ok well you can waive the fee because i just made a payment. He said he would not be able to i would have to make arrangements ahead of time with them so he could waive it. I said no because i am looking at my bank statement and i had money in my account the days before, the day of, and after for the credit card to withdrawl the funds for my payment and i am not paying a late fee. He said he can not do anything unless i make a payment over the phone with him, i said i am not providing my bank information to him its on-line that is protected and safe and i want to cancel my credit card and I will pay the balance off when i get a chance. So after going back and forth for 20 mintures he transfers me and i have to do the same thing of holding on the line. When i finally talk to someone i get Kelly again. I'm sorry i should not talk to Kelly everytime i go back and forth there is no way i am only talking to three people.

I have no idea how to cancel my credit card because everyone is not being helpful. I am going to send a certified letter with a request to cancel and talk with my lawyer because I am not in the wrong and the company is doing fradulant activities hoping to get a uneducated individual to fall for the crap. And I am definitely not that, just trying to rebuild my credit after going through some economic hardships and now I have to deal with this crap, its ok, I will have my lawyer look into everything and i suggest if there is enough of complaints there will be something done very soon.

So please please stay away, and avoid the headache.

Thank you.

Hello ladies and gentlemen, I am going to talk about the fraud, credit one is putting on its customers and the fraud that they're saying that they are capital one. They are not affiliated with capital one. but they say they are capital one is not a good company and credit one is not a good company, credit one will charge you for stuff you don't use, and disputing the charge was credit one is ridiculous, credit one does not know anything about customer service or how to treat Americans . They use foreign call-center reps sound like there from the Philippines or Nigeria. I think this company is a Nigerian scam collecting Social Security numbers on innocent Americans . Here's a websites that will help you learn more about credit one and there scams http://www.millerreport.us/2014/07/rip-off-credit-one-is-not-capital-one.html for more information, click on the link and you'll see videos and comments left by victims of credit one.

Credit One Bank passes itself off as Cap One Bank, including all of the same type of logos and website set up. But it is nothing like Cap One.

Credit One Bank gives you a credit card with a limit of $300, then immediately takes away $75 of that in "annual fees." Then it charges 23.9 percent interest on a daily basis. Sure, this may be in the fine print, but do they disclose they charge it on a daily basis? So if you wanted to close your account, you are out of luck.

They will keep charging interest since you will never know the payoff amount.

This bank alleges to improve your credit, but what Credit Reporting Agency will improve your credit with a $300 limit which is immediately reduced to $225 by charging an annual fee? This bank has more negative reports than any other bank I have ever seen.

I cannot close my account because the people answering the phones read scripted answers and have no knowledge whatsoever. This bank is once to stay away from. You are better off applying for a Store card like Target, Macys, Nordstrom, or Capital One Bank, not Credit One Bank!

  • Jul 15, 2014

I receved an offer from Credit One Bank for a credit card. I actually thought it wws Capital One, because Credit One's logo is very similar to Capital One. The letter stated that I was being offered a credit limit between $3000 and $5000 with no fees, so I applied online. I prefer low limit creidt cards. Credit One is the first to send me an offer below $10,000,

When I received the notice that I had been approved, it was for $300 with a $75 annual fee! The notice then went on to say my new account would help to rebuild my credit. I don't need to rebuild my credit. My credit score just four months ago was 793. Concerned, I immeditately pulled my credit report to find that my score was over 800!

I called Credit One and canceled (closed) the account and the girl insisted that it would help me to rebuild my credit. Really?!!! Amazing! I had to insist the account be closed. I asked for some type of confirmation code that the account had been closed and she told me they do not provide one, but I would get a letter in the mail.

I get the letter and it's telling me I have a $75 balance! I called them again and was told I had no balance since I did not activate the card. Be very careful. Some credit card companies are a complete scam.

In Las Vegas,NV ..Keeps charging me $ 8.25 fee .every month.....for. a annual .fee...plus.charge. me monthly interest. charge.$4.44 ..on purchases ..even thou i never purchase anything....I only purchase 1 small thing..many years ago..plus ..they kept charging me past due fees..when i was on time.payments..over minium payments .so....I .Called Credit One ..and talked to them about charge past due fees...and i told them if they keep doing that..I will turn them into..my Attorney....then they stopped..charging me late..fees....

  • Jul 5, 2014

Credit One tries to pass itself off as Capital One. The logos are nearly identical. Secondly, no one gets a credit line over $300, then they take away something like $80 for an annual fee. Then if you are late they send the bill to collections, mine went to LVNV, a debt collector. LVNV is owned by Credit One Bank. The more you dig, the more s*** you uncover. This bank should be shut down, along with its greedy CEO and worthless customer service team members who appear to be located in Atlantis, because they speak a foreign language. Stay clear of this S*** bank.
