I found PDQ appliance repair on the washing machine manufacturer's website. Thinking they would be reputable I gave them a call. Like so many other reports on the internet, Crystal Spears ripped me off!
Crystal arrived to my home not in a service truck or any vehicle with company markings on the side; that should have been my first clue. After 2 ½ hours she diagnosed my LG clothes washer with two bad sensors. She removed some parts from the washer and went out to her car and proceeded to make a phone call. Several minutes later she came in with what she said was new parts in a box that had no markings; clue number 2.
After installing the “new” parts she plugged the washing machine back in, but the washing machine still didn’t work. She told me it would take about 30 minutes to “reset” and that it should be fine. Clue number 3
The next day the washing machine still did not work. At this point I was getting a little nervous. Several calls to Crystal and no return calls. I knew I had been scammed. That same day I tried to stop payment on the $250 check I had written the night before; it had already been cashed.
After several days of no contact from PDQ or Crystal, I contacted another repair company to fix my washing machine. When they came to inspect my washing machine I was told that the previous technician, Cryrstal, did not even put the washing machine back together all the way. To top it all off he said there is only one sensor that could have been replaced, not the two that I was charged by Crystal. I suspect she didn’t replace anything at all and simply reinstalled the old parts. All of this was done in about an hour, why did it take Crystal almost 3 hours to rip me off? She must pay herself by the hour!
I am not sure how they are allowed to still do this. With over 40 company names I can only assume they change company names when one becomes too infamous.
