I had a storage for two years with these people no problems then they changed management it's the one on fairgrounds rd in riverside. My first problem one hot day my car was over heating I got out of my car lifted my hood and they pulled up and told me I couldn't work on my car there when I was simply putting water in it. Second time I was at my storage and was starting to clean out my storage and got hungry so I called my wife and asked her to bring me lunch and she wasn't there more than two min and her come management telling us we couldn't hang out there. Third time they came I was still cleaning out storage the called me a thief when I am an honest person said that because I was at my storage for such s long time that I had to be stealing I offered for them to check my storage t they refused next thing I know they are terminating our lease saying I hung out to much at my storage and I was suspicious. And threatened to call the police I told them to go do it cause they would look really stupid I will never rent from them again and I strongly suggest you don't either
I noticed my tool box was missing one day in my storage and asked if there was any video, they said yes but it was too hard to go back and look for. before moving out I gave them 4weeks notice and than the requires two weeks notice and they still billed me for an entire month and would not give me a partial re fund of over three weeks rent.
turnes out a lot more was stolen out of my storage. when I moved out about 1/3 of my stuff was gone. I had a lot of golf clubs way back in the far corner and other wedding china and other tools. so some would of had to take a lot out of the storage in order to gat all that.
about 3 weeks ago I e mailed them this same complaint, I received a e mail back saying I would hear back from them with in 7 days. I have not received or heard a thing back from them. before when I noticed the tool chest gone the locks were all locked and I was the only one with the keys
What started off as something illogical and confusing has today escalated into a ripoff.
We have had our storage unit at CubeSmart (which changed from U-Store) for the last 3 years. The initial agreement was $100 per month and we are now paying almost $150 a month due to annual rate increases. Being accustomed to longevity rewards we found this rather strange so we went along to the CubeSmart office located on the property to enquire.
The staff have always appeared moody and disinterested but today was a special case. Aside from arguing directly with us and laughing in our faces they just were not at all bothered to help. We were told our rates would continue to increase each year because we were on a month to month contract - we asked to change our contract to something more permanent and were told that no such service existed.
We were also told to 'count ourselves lucky' because we did get our first month free. Nice.
I feel like getting real nitpicky and cancelling and renewing my contract each month to avoid an annual increase.
