Custom Built Personal Training Reviews

I signed up with a gym that contracts with these scammersand immediately Custom Built personal training contacted me - don't sign up for that "service" unless you want to become a victim !!!!. They are experts at the bait and switch game! I was promised a specific trainer, BMI testing, meal plans, progress reports, workout schedules with what exercise to do when not training, to name just a few of the fabulous perks with these "people" and I use that term a little loosely, but once I signed the contract all of those promises evaporated.

They are a rip - off - they lock you into a contract for 12 months and they charge you 15% of the overall contract regardless of how much you paid on the contract so they charged me almost 800.00 dollars to stop the contract even though I paid 1,169.00 so basically this contract cost me about 2000. Their customer service is rude as well - I think Kimberly is the only person in customer serivice and she will do nothing for you - she's super hateful and seems to enjoy making the world a little more crappy.

They're trainers are paid minimum wage even though the company is ripping people off for inordinate amounts of money. They're so greedy they can't pay their people well. Also your training is relegated to one small room with free weights and yoga mats. This is the single worst personal training experience I have ever had. And had I been a bit more savvy I would have explored the reviews of this company before I sgined up. There are scores and scores horrible reviews and complaints about this company. Why doesn't the AG investigate them. I bet if they scratched a little harder or looked at the underbelly they would be shocked at what they find. Buyer Besare -these "people" are dirty and they will rip you off!!!! They should be ashamed at what they do.

I was defrauded $280.00 plus. I requested 768.52 total between 10 Fitness total $138.52 (they gave me a credit of $54.50. Custom built personal training, I used card for $349.00, which was explained to us that covered 6 months 1 hour (we were to both use 30 minutes, my daughter and I) per week. The gym we could use anytime. My two daughters went in to work out two days for about an hour soon after joining. I never went we never used a trainer, and I did not sign that contract, or even see it until Evelyn faxed it to me, after I saw the $280.00 debit, I had no clue. That was never discussed, if so, I would not have joined. They are corrupt and this should fall under RICO statutes - Fraud and Finance. So I had to go and close the account. They sent me an email, they tried two or threes times to debit my account. I responded I am coming after you!!! I will not stop. Federal laws will stop them, and I have punitive damges coming, with everything plus the stress of it all. I spent ten years in the Navy and never had to fight dishonest people from other countries. That is what foreigners say about Americans, they lie and cheat. Now, unless things have chnged recently, the American dollar cannot be used in other countries, they have to trade it for their currency. Because of people like Custom Built and 10 Fitness! We have not been back and I am out $768.52, but I'm not finished!!!!!!

10GYM WAS FAIR BUT THESE PEOPLE OFFICE IN 10GYM DO NOT USE THEM!!!!!Custom Built Personal "Trainers" were ok the first week. After that there seemed to be no oversight and you were lucky to get your sessions. I was charged for one I missed and went to make up but never got to. The trainers seemed indifferent in the beginning and I finally got one I liked and she left. I joined in the second week of January and sustained an injury to my meniscus and groin in February after being given 2 steps to jump on and off of. I told the trainer at the time. I also recorded my sessions so I would know how to do the exercises. The trainer left about the time I went to my doctor and he told me to NOT do personal training and to only swim for exercise AFTER my groin is healed. He wrote me a note on March 26th and I took it to their office in the Midwest City 10 gym. The "manager" made a copy of my note and said he will send it to the corporate office. I stopped their payment and assumed that would be the end of it. 10 gym was fine with my written doctors order . I explained to them my horrific injuries and they still call me for payment. I may have to have surgery because of THEIR TRAINER because the excercises I was given were NOT for someone that had 3 back surgeries. Their trainers were talking about getting certified through a weekend course! As I reserched them more, I found that I should have done my homework! Not only are their "trainers" not qualified, but they had no business giving someone with 3 back surgeries the weight amount and the strenuous exercises they gave me! Now I have a torn meniscus and a pulled groin that tore my muscles! I did what they asked and gave them 2 doctors notes. I blew off the sessions I paid for and never got. I will now picket them and have made contact with the many other furious clients. I have a sign made for my car now as well. They are expert scam artists. They call me multiple times a day for payment, even though they injured me to where I can't work out! I will send my doctor bills to them and will probably have to sue them! I am going to the media and will pickett all their sites to let the public know how unscrupulous these scammers are. Their customer service and upper management are VERY unprofessional.

I want to make known a terrible experience that myself and my wife have encountered with Custom Built Personal Training. Our experience has fallen on deaf ears within their customer service and management team; However, I bet their potential customers are willing to listen.

Our Story:

My wife wanted to get a personal trainer and with Custom Built Personal Training inside our gym, what better place to go... She signed up for 48 sessions, which she would use, one per week until they were gone. During this time we were fortunate to get pregnant, as previously we had complications and this pregnancy was considered high risk. At that time she it was suggested that she not go to the personal trainer anymore as she would have to keep her heart-rate below 140 BPM. I discussed this with the personal trainer and said that I would complete the sessions that were originally agreed upon. At that time we had six sessions remaining. I fulfilled the sessions and the trainer said just to let them know when my wife wanted to start back up again. Fast forward, two months later we realize that they didn't stop charging us. We had paid three months of sessions that we weren't planning on using nor did we want to pay for with the thought of a baby on the way. I called and spoke to customer service, explained the situation and was told that there was nothing that could be done with the money that has been paid but they would stop me from being charged going forward. I was told that I had to sign a document a month prior to canceling; However, they just verbally took my cancellation over the phone. And if you remember, I discussed with my trainer that I wanted to cancel at the end of the required sessions. After all is said and done, Custom Built Personal Training still has our money and will not give it back. Oh, and to add to the lack of professionalism, I was told on April 4, 2014 that Kimberly would call me back within 48 hours. I am sure that it doesn't come as a surprise that I am still waiting for my return call.

I want to warn anyone that uses this company for personal training to seek out other possibilities as I wasn't fortunate enough to be warned.
