Devry University Reviews

I graduated from Devry in 2009. During my time there, there was a lot of pressure from financial aid office and admissions and everything about how they handled financial aid was sneaky. Can they really charge the amount they did? It was really extreme. And now, I'm sitting at a job that there is no way I will be able to pay this amount back. I would appreciate any information that may help with the charges.

I recently graduated from this establishment and quickly realized that I hadn't honestly learned anything. I owe them an extremely large amount of money for an absolute waste of my time. They told me that 95% of thier students found jobs in thier field after graduating but this has to be a botched number. I took tons of classes that had no real relevance to anything I went to school for. All the course material can be found online. I really regret falling for this scam.

I just read all the negative reports about DeVry University on this website and I must make a general rebuttal on behalf of DeVry. I have been attending this school for one year and I love everything about it. The professors are great and very knowledgeable, the classes are very challenging, the financial aid and student services people are always available and always helpful. I am truly shocked by the negative reports I am reading. I am not sure what DeVry campuses the previous authors are going to, but it certainly cannot be my particular campus!

I am also not sure why the previous reports on this website state that there is fraudulent activity in the financial aid offices of DeVry. I have not experienced this NOR has any employee at DeVry ever promised me ""free money"" or a quick and easy degree. They make sure I know that I have to pay my student loans back, I had to sign a master promissory note (required by FAFSA), and DeVry actually just did an audit of my FAFSA and my 2010 taxes to make sure that I was not lying on my FAFSA in order to get more grant or student loan money.

The classes here are very difficult and I take offense at the people who said the classes are super easy and are a joke. This takes away from all the hours and hours of studying that I have done in order to get As in my classes at DeVry. An example of some of my classes and my respective grades: Statistics 220 (got a B), Business Law 420 (got an A), Financial Accounting 212 (got an A), Advanced Composition (got an A), College Algebra 092 (got an A). These classes were some of the most difficult courses I have every taken and I already have a college degree from another brick and mortar school!

Wow everyone. Please do your own research on this school before you believe what disgruntled people are posting here. DeVry is an awesome school, it is not a ""diploma mill"", the professors are unbelievably intelligent, and the courses are very very challenging. My algebra professor alone is brilliant! He received his PhD in Chemical Engineering from Rice University.

DeVry is a great school. I am so thankful I picked it over a state school where you cannot even get the classes you need because state schools are so cheap.

Well I can agree with most people on here, that the school of devry university is a rip-off and a lie and a scam. If you are an online student, then don't bother going to their career services center because it's no good. They basically only got me in touch with a guy from career builder, and he screwed my resume up. And their classes are not so great. Some professors are not that interactive with students online. They don't even have their own campus. They have to use another university's campus for their graduation. And they started screwing up my finances toward the end. this is my third go around with them, and now they decide to start messing up with my money and refunds. I am a veteran and I honestly needed the money but they like to hold it over til the next session and as before, saying I'd need some kind of proof to get the funds released. And I keep hearing different stories as to where the money went. Oh and they never call you back. I remember trying to register for classes once and the guy never got back in touch with me. And the other lady on the phone was so rude to me. this school is a let-down and a sham. don't waste your time with them.

Honestly whenever I was about to graduate some years ago, they got me in touch with their career services online, and the rep I was so rude and mean to me. I was like no way. She was a total meanie the whole time. And then the best they could do is get me in touch with Career builder reps and he did my resume and jacked it all up. No thanks. Then when I started a second degree program, i told them I been through their career services before, they acted like they didnt hear and the girl finally realized it and hung the phone up and cut me off, never called me back. Oh and get this, after I signed up for my second degree program, the female rep wanted to get all personal with me, asking me too many personal questions. I was about to just say forget it, because I don't appreciate anyone getting all in my privacy like that. That's bad. Oh and they lie about your refunds and tuition. If you have a zero balance, and then get your remaining payments from the VA, They will hold it until the next session. So if you're broke, then as a vetearn you're just broke.

Beware of this school. Please don't waste your money on them. I will never in my life recommend this school again. And I sure hope no devry reps try to get me to email them again about issues. Not my fault this school is for profit and has so many complaints. they don't even have their own campus. The campus in my state is not a real campus. it's just a big building where they only have classes and their offices on the first floor, and their classrooms looks shabby looking. This school is a joke. I should have followed everyone's advice a long time ago.

Do Not attend this college by any means it is a big joke and you will regret transfering and losing your college credits. I did everything what was required while attending this college via online. I know for me math was my hard subject and i did outstanding in everything else. While on Acdemic probation they tell you that long as you do everything that your academic advising team suppose to do everything would work out. In the process of doing everything they wanted and even making a 90plus percent in the current class i was in the decided to dismiss me without a heads up. This is very wrong and all they do is get people caught up in debt for the rest of your life. Schools like this make people not want to go to college and now im stuck in garnishment because i cant afford payements. I regret ever attending this college and it hasnt done anything but cause set backs in my life. If i knew a way to sue the hell out of this university for a good 200k i would. They could at least send a final transcript and know its as if i just have highschool education at this point in life I hope this evil coporation of a college closes one day because they are messing over a lot if people and ruining lives.
