DFW Move Masters Reviews

  • May 5, 2014

I would like to clarify some issues about these movers from my experience. Mr. Booth communicated in a timely manner, and was flexible in my move as I had to re-set the dates several times. His guys showed up PROMPTLY and had T-shirts stating the business. The actual movers were young kids, but very polite. I had already packed up all of the small and easy items, and had already moved them to the new location, so it was basically furniture.

That said, MOST of my furniture was my GREAT-GRAND PARENTS and MOST items date to the MID 1800's. I SPECIFIED to the ""kids"" what was extremely old, etc. I ATTEMPTED to WATCH them wrap and MOVE the delicate/old furniture. I am NOT SURE how the items were stacked INSIDE the truck. All I can say is that almost ALL pieces had some significant damage. I DID NOT contact the owner, because the move was CHEAP and it was QUICK...but you do get ""what you pay for...."" It is hard to look at an old bookcase from 1865, and see big chunks of trim/veneer missing. I THINK the items were bounced off of the front steps of my house, and must have bounced on the dolly, as I found HUGE CHUNKS of wood trim on the front stone landing.

All in all, it was cheap and quick...just not neccasarily painless (it will cost money to repair the damage and it HURTS to look at it!) I don't care what his military record is, or that he had alleged DUI charges. Good grief, a lot of us have had some bad experiences that we would LOVE to forget. The move was PROMPT, the movers COURTEOUS...just maybe a little TOO ROUGH on cherished ANTIQUES.

Would I use them again? Yes...but would give more attention to the moving of the large, delicate furniture.
