I attended a sales presentation at Diamante in Cabo San Lucas about a month ago and was very impressed with their Golf Resort and plannings for the future. At the end of the presentation I met with the Sales person and Sales Manager who presented me with options to purchase vacation ownership. I agreed to purchase and was told I could play their one and only golf course for the next as much as i wanted without any additional charges. Yes, free of charge, anytime and as much as I wanted to play. After completing the paperwork and giving them a credit card deposit, I played a round with the sales person. Of course he was telling me how fortunate I was to become an exclusive member of Diamante and about all of the benefits and how much I will enjoy being a member. I was excited and I thought it was great to be a new member. After we finished the round I went into the pro shop t set up tee times for the next 2 days. My intentions were to tee off early so that i could enjoy the rest of my days in Cabo San Lucas. When I asked the pro shop attendant about an early morning tee time, he responded by saying "the morning tee times are reserved for members and the earliest tee time for me would be 1:30. I told him that I am a member, I had just signed a contract earlier that day. What does that make me? Well, anyway, I was told earlier that I could play anytime a tee time was available. I ask the pro shop guy if there were any early tee times available and he said yes, a couple openings in the 8 to 8:30 range, which would have worked out perfectly for me. He told me that I had to speak with the Sales department. So I went upstairs to the Sales department and of course everyone had left for the day. I went into the office and Wendy who had drafted the contract was sitting at her desk. I asked to speak with her because I was a little upset about the situation that had just happened in the pro shop. I told her that I did not want to be a part of Diamante if we are starting off with such deceptive practices. She listened and then called the Sales Manager who said he would resolve the issue and either he or someone would contact me. I never heard anything from anyone. I sked Wendy if she would refund my credit card deposit because I didn't want to be a part of Diamante. She told me that the office was closed and someone would contact me tomorrow and that she could not refund my deposit. The credit card machine was in her office so I didn't understand why she couldn't.

The sales person lied to get me to join.

It is very hard to get the dates you want.

I gave Diamante 5 different weeks I could travel but they did not have anything open even 7 months in advance.

A decent T-time is impossible to get.

When I have joined other memberships like this the dues/maintenance fees for the 1st year are paid with your membership, not pay $25,000+ now and $800 for maintenance fees too. The contract does not specify either way, so I asked the sales person and he confirmed with the general manager who both lied to me.

I am very unhappy with my purchase but cannot get a refund unless I eat over $8000.

Diamonte Cabo San Lucas

We attended a presentation in January, 2015. Promises of free golf and day passes for the remainder of our stay in Cabo ensured. We bought in. However, we never heard one word back from the organization. We never received our free fishing excursion incentive for listening to the presentation. And the most interesting of all....our monthly payments were to begin in April, 2015; however, we haven't even received a billing statement from the company. Shame on you Diamonte Time Share Resort for not following through with your business obligations to your clients and shame on you Tiger Woods for associating your face and name with this organization.

My entry to this website is intended as an observation as well as a complaint. Out of a group of eight, four of us were denied the freebies promised in return for hearing the sales pitch. We went to the Diamante, but my wife and I did not have a credit card, only a debit card. This demonstrates that you don’t have enough purchasing power if you choose to sign up for a time share from Diamante on the spur of the moment.

Oh well, we endured the presentation anyway, but I decided that buying a required golf shirt plus hiring the required caddy turned the free golf experience into $125/ person and was not worth it. I know, I know…this is a classy place that requires a collared shirt and I wasn’t wearing one. The tour was impressive, and in the sales pitch we were reminded that Davis Love III and Tiger Woods each designed a course. The place oozed class and wealth. It just didn’t look like there were any guests at the Diamante to view my collared shirt anyway. I learned later that there were about 70 guests and members staying at the time we were there.

After the presentation we were told that the four of us who didn’t golf would not be receiving the promised dinner cruise after all. Justification for this came in Spanish so I never figured it out totally. It didn’t matter that we were denied any gift because we didn’t care about that anyway. It was a group decision to go on this presentation and I wanted to be supportive of the rest. At that point I just wanted to get on with my vacation and get out of there.

Why would a place so grand act so meticulously stingy? Maybe they are not doing as well as they would like you to think. Tiger Woods name alone will not guarantee success.

I am not lumping all timeshare ventures into the same bucket as the Diamante, but I do know that this is the last timeshare presentation I will waste my time with.
