Direct Buy Auto Warranty Reviews

These people are legal thieves. They will not pay for any warranty covered items, because they would says it' wear. For example, Front lower control arms, rear Bushing, Strutts, they were worm out and making noise. They won't pay for any thing. This is a bad warranty company. I paid $1500.00 for warranty for 3 years, I have filed claims for Hose coolant leaks, Timing Belts, Fuel injectors, and many other repairs. They paid $150.0 one time for a $450.00 repair by a dealer.

These people are really BAD.

Watch out for this company! I purchased the top of the line warranty Direct Buy Warranty offers. My car is a 2006 Audi S4. I have had my car at the shop for 3 weeks waiting for them to inspect the vehicle.

After repeated calls daily from the service shop and myself, they finally resolved today to contact me to say that they cannot cover the transmission because they cannot visually inspect it. Well, of course you cannot see inside a transmission until it is removed and apart. Oh, and they do not cover the cost of removing the transmission even if anything is covered. They call that diaognostics. Seriously. They did not dispatch a technician to try and drive the vehicle which would have solved the diagnosis that the transmission is slipping.

Stay away from this company. I had a prior issue before when I needed to replace some bushings on the car. After weeks of arguing they finally covered a cost for bushings for an A4. I had to pay the difference for the labor cost and the correct S4 parts. When I submitted a complaint on this same site, they contacted me asking me erase the comments and they would pay the balance for the S4 bushings. Did they, of course not.

Their whole business model is to deny the claims and mae it impossable for you to get any real service.

In March of 2014 we decided we would keep our 2006 Cadillac SRX because the car has serviced our family well. With this decision made in the best interest of our needs we decided to put another warranty on the vehicle and choose to purchse the plan from Direct Buy. After carefully speaking to Ryan the sales rep and explaining to him we were hesitant due to the reports we had been reading, he assured us the negatives were coming from his competitors and if we went with his company we would not have to worry about that. Direct Buy have rates that fit our financial budget, so we accepted. In May it was time to take my car in for servicing, oil change, etc..... the dealership found some repairs which needed to be taken care of and after having the car for 3 days Direct Buy called to say the problem was pre-existing and would not be covering the repairs. They also stated if we chose to get out of the contract there would be a $200.00 cancellation fee. The scary thing about the situation is, I am having to cover the repairs, still pay them, and if there is a breakdown in the future, they may not pay for it as well. There are to many people complaining about this company, Can we all get some help.

I had a problem with my power steering pump on my 2005 Mercedes SL500.

I took the car to the dealer and it was diagnosed on their computer that gave 2 codes:

Code 1: C1525-064 indicating system pressure too low.

Code 2: C1526-016 indicating malfunction in pressure supply.

continue driving my car in that condition will result in more damage according to my service adviser and his manager at Mercedes dealeship.

The warranty company (Direct buy auto warranty) sent an inspector to look at the car and he came with a conclusion that the problem is due to wear and tear and denied the claim.

I disputed that denial but still no result. I end up cancelling my warranty with them.

The service manager at the Mercedes dealership was very much surprised by that denial.

I do not advise anybody to purchase a warranty from that company.

2007 r320 cdi benz developed an oil leak 2 years after buying a 5 year warranty from direct buy (auto) warranty. dealer investigated and found an intercooler leak. also, the srs (supplement restraint system) was worn and needed replacing. confirmed that if one component of the srs is out of order, then the whole system is shut down (no airbags, etc) for this model. all necessary repairs per dealer. direct buy auto warranty people sent out their adjuster. their adjuster's written report noted that since there isn't any mechanical failure, none of the $2000 repair would be covered. dealership was totally speechless. absolutely ridiculous that i should have my whole engine and turbo to be completely failed before dbw will consider covering a repair. i know now that even if i had a covered repair, their adjuster will weasel out of it somehow. i canceled my policy but have yet to receive my refund (2+ weeks) of undisclosed amount (dbw hasn't told me how much they'll refund).

on the other hand, i have the ford esp platinum care + for a different vehicle and that has worked BEAUTIFULLY. when shopping for an extended service plan for a car, the list of exclusions speaks alot of the policy. dbw's list of exclusions is longer than their inclusions. dbw is a bunch of thieves. i hope justice comes to their heads sooner than later.
