DirecTV offers new customers a feature called NFL ticket. I found that offer attractive and I signed up for DirecTV, expecting that I would be able to view Minnesota Vikings Football games throughout the season. I travelled to Mississippi and found that every time I tried to view a Minnesota Vikings Football game it was blacked out!

I called DirecTV and they put the blame on the NFL! Not my problem. I still expected to see the game!

Beware of DirecTV offers. They are not what they seem to be.

I was a customer with Directv for a very long time and was happy with them up until they started getting more and more expensive. I was going to keep the service when I moved, but was waiting until I had the money to actually start them back up again. Well I was never able to come up with the money and I was working all the time and never had any time to call them. So instead of going through the right channels to reach me, they decided that they were just going to charge the card that they had on file for me. The first time they did it, I just let it go, told my bank about it and they were just like whatever so I figured I owed them the money I wasn't going to make a big stink about it. But then just tonight they debited my account again. I did not authorize this transaction. I really needed this money for other things, not for paying on a service that I don't even have any more. So if anyone out there plans on being a Directv customer do not give them your credit card information to store on their website. They will just do automatic withdrawals even if you never authorized them to do so. They seem to think that if you gave them your information they can do whatever they want with it and charge whenever and however much they want. Now I have to go through the trouble of disputing these charges. I am definitely one pissed off consumer. Especially since now I'm probably going to end up racking up NSF fees and the like for my other items.

I have dealt with DirecTV for quite a few years and have nothing, but nightmares from them. When they first installed their dish on my home, the first major rain that happened after the installation, caused my basement to flood, ruining thousands of dollars’ worth of belongings. It had not flooded previous to the installation and upon inspection, I found that the installer ran the coaxial cable over the gutter, causing it to sag and become damaged from the weight of the cable and the collected water, directly over a window for the basement. Of course this meant that all of the rain that the roof caught was funneled right into this window. DirecTV said that are not liable for damage caused by their installer.

Next on the list is their lack of service and ridiculous billing practices. Everyone knows that their service is useless if it sprinkles or if it snows ever so slightly, but they offer to correct this for an additional $140.00, even though it was an installer's fault that the dish is not aligned correctly. Well, they even add services without your knowledge and bill you for them if you do not cancel. (Like NFL Sunday Ticket) They remove channels that you agreed to pay for, including local channels and continue to charge you the same rate, even if you do not receive the channels you agreed to. If you downgrade, they charge a fee, then continue to charge you the old rate, until you complain, then you have to pay the previous rate, until the next billing cycle regardless of when that starts or ends.

If you cancel, you better be prepared. They charge you $200.00 disconnect fee regardless of how long you have been a customer. This is because your contract renews any time you have any change, albeit a move, package change, or what have you. And do not believe for a second that what the representatives tell you, either in person or on the phone, will be honored. I asked for a package change, before I cancelled and was charged for the previous package rate, even though I had asked for the smaller package and the representative told me that I was eligible for $20 off per month for six months. I never saw any of that.

When I moved, in spite of the "mover's deal" as advertised all over the place, they charged me $140.00, until I spent 2-hours on the phone complaining to people who barely knows what English is, much less speak it and they have no clue about the previous call you made. None. They will claim to be reading notes on the account, but I personally think it is a stall tactic, so that you hang up frustrated with dealing with these poor excuses for customer service. I honestly believe that, because you have to explain yourself all over, in detail, with every call and every time they transfer you, or hang up on you because they do not understand what you are saying.

I paid them, because I was tired of it. I paid and paid and they still referred my account to collections, even though I had not missed a single payment cycle! I have notes on every call and transaction made with this horrible company. I have recorded calls too, which they also claim to have, but lose whenever asked about them. They suddenly have no record of you even calling if you make reference to a promise you receive, even if you provide a name, date and/or call reference number. And the number they give you about said call, if you ask, is useless when you call giving them the reference number. They have no idea what you are even talking about.

I sent them way too much money when I closed my account, because one representative told me one thing, and another told me something completely different. They are now claiming that they haven’t received payment and I know that they are just wanting a new debit or credit card number from me, since I closed my last account that they had access to, because they took unauthorized money at an amount much higher than the bill that was due. I wonder if I will ever see the refund. I bet it will take 6 to 8 weeks, even though they demand everything right now, whether you dispute it or not. And if they have your credit, or debit card number, they will take whatever they want, in spite of what is agreed to. Good luck dealing with them. I sorely hope they go the way of Betamax real soon.

Worst company I have ever dealt with. They constantly try to charge me for services I fidn't request. Each customer service rep had a different story. They offered me a price for a year, then the rep said that they always had a promotion going and will offer another similar price if I call them at the end of the year. Not true. When I changed packages to lower the price the r

ep lied about what was included. The next rep refused to do what the first rep promised. Every rep I talked to (four today) offered me a different price. When I wsnted to csncel because they won't give me what tbey promise they told me I would have to pay a big cancellation fee. I hate this company. It will be worth the fee not to deal with them again.

It is truly bad when one has to dispute the billing on their direct tv account when they get nothing but double talk, contradicting theirselves and sadly when the person has to pay for the misrepresentation made by their representative but yet they remain agrumentative insisting that the customer pay for the mistakes of what was instructed of them when the orginal dispute was made. old school says the customer is always right but more so when the representative misrepresented them, mislead the customer andnow refuses to resolve it...every month is a fight with them over the billing and yet they want to throw their contract agreement in ones face all the time and then attempt to process a payment with your consent all because they have that info on file..talk about poor business practices and nothing but ripping the customer off for their own representatives mistake..

I have an account with direct tv I called them today and asked them to remove my personal banking account information from their website they said I have an account with them and they have to have a credit card on file I asked why they said if I cancel then they can charge my account I told them under no circumstances are they authorized to change any of my bank accounts this would be illegal. My contract was up 2 years ago and I do not have an account. I called my bank and said my card was stolen and emailed my banks and direct tv and. Said no charges are ever authorized from direct tv I made this clear will it be illegal for them to take money and how can I sue.

I just want to let everbody kmow directv is a rip off. i started my service april 2 2014 they had run my credit which is not so good, they said they require a 300,deposit so i paid it and i had also told the representative i was moving in a month or two and they said just to call there movers drpartment. i checked online and it says certain people can qualify for the movers package. etc when i called on 5/27/14 there saying o have to pay 235,in order to move my service. iam aware directv is giving me 5 dollars a month off for the deposit. i believe directv should have just worked me out a deal being iam still a new.customer or at least put it on my bill. i will cancel my service iam very disgusted with directv

I terminated my service well over a week ago, and I asked for boxes so I can send the equipment back to them. I know I have a balance of 161 dollars, I was planning to pay it on June 6 but I believe they are holding back the boxes so they can charge me extra money for the equipment. Besides, their programming package is garbage!

I CALLED DIRECT TV AND ORDERED SERVICE, I WAS TOLD A CERTAIN AMOUNT FOR A YEAR AGREEMENT AND AFTER

A YEAR I COULD CANCEL. A YEAR WENT BY, I CALLED TO CANCEL AND WAS TOLD; I, WOULD BE CHARGED FOR THE EQUIPMENT.

I WAS TOTALY CONFUSED. I TOLD THEM THE AGREEMENT WAS FOR ONLY A YEAR. THE REP THEN STATED, YES YOUR PROGRAM AGREEMENT WAS FOR A YEAR BUT THE EQUIPMENT WAS 2 YEAR. MY RESPONSE WAS TURN THE SERVICE OFF AND I WILL PAY FOR JUST THE EQUIPMENT FOR ANOTHER YEAR.THE RESPONSE FROM THE REP WAS IF IVE GOT THEIR EQUIPMENT I WILL HAVE TO RECIEVE A PROGRAM PACKAGE. I COULD TELL THIS WAS A NO WHEN SITUATION. I THEN TOLD THE REP TO GIVE ME THE SMALLEST PACKAGE THEY HAD, HER RESPONSE WAS, THE EQUIPMENT WOULD HAVE TO BE SWAPPED OUT BECAUSE THE EQUIPMENT THAT I HAD NOW WAS FOR THE PROGRAM PACKAGE I HAD FOR A YEAR. I SAID, FINE, SWITCH IT. THE REP THEN INFORMED ME THERE WAS A CHARGE OF 35 DOLLARS TO DOWN GRADE THE EQUIPMENT. I WAS FURIOUS, NO MATTER WHAT THEY HAD A WAY TO GET EXTRA CHARGES FROM ME. I FINALLY GAVE IN AND SAID, FINE DUE TO LIMITED OPTIONS. I CANT WAIT TILL OCTIBER 2014 AND DIRECT TV PICKS UP THEIR EQUIPMENT. I WOULDNT BE SURPRISED IF THEY CAME UP WITH ANOTHER TYPE OF CHARGE. I WILL KEEP EVERYONE POSTED IF THAT HAPPENS. I ALMOST FORGOT TO MENTION, I REQUESTED THREE DIFFERENT TIMES FOR THE CONTRACT AND ALL THEY SENT WAS A AGREEMENT FLYER THREE DIFFERENT TIMES, NOTHING WITH MY NAME, ADDRESS OR SIGNATURE. MY OPION NO CONTRACT, NO AGREEMENT.
