DIRECTV, LLC. Reviews

In December of 2014, I cancelled my DirecTV service because it was to expensive. In January of 2015, I called DirecTV because they double charged me for the cancelation fee. While on that call, the Rep told me that if I came back to DirecTV that they would waive my cancelation fee and send me a $200 Visa Gift Card. I took them up on this offer. The Rep told me that I should receive the card within 2 weeks. I confirmed this offer with her twice and she verified it both times. After 3 weeks went by and I did not receive the card, I called them again. I was told that the card would not be mailed out until 2 months after I renewed, to make sure that I did not cancel. I waited the 2 months and still did not receive the card. After three on-line chats with reps and at least 8 telephone calls, (and never being able to speak to the same person), I was told several different stories, from the card was only meant for people that transferred from another provider... or that I had to fill out a form, or the old stand by, "the card is in the mail". As of today, May 5th, another supervisor told me that I should have never been offered the Visa card in the first place and that I wouild not get it. But, she would go ahead and give me a $100 credit on my account... for all the trouble and being missled. I told her that this was wrong, that the reason that I renewed was because of the offer that a Rep from the company made be, and that it should be honored. Nothing was in writing, all was verbal. I asked her to listen to the tape, since supposedly the conversation was recorded, but she said that she could not do that. So, what it boils down to is that I was ripped off for $200. Them applying a $100 credit to my DirecTV account is pretty much useless. I was counting on the $200 to buy food/gas.

I called DirecTV to ask them how much it would cost me to cancel their contract 22mo after it was signed. They told me it would be $60 extra. I canceled shortley after that and went to a local cable company. During the 22mo period with DirecTV my main recording unit went bad and DirecTV exchanged it no charge. What I didn't know, because they exchanged my recording unit they call the "jeanie" they also added two more years to my contract.

Recently I received my final bill and they charged me $400 extra for that cancelation...this truly a Rip
