DIRECTV, LLC Reviews

After Brighthouse became too expensive for services rendered, I debated for several weeks of what to do.

Even after coming here and reading complaints, in May of this year I chose to go with DIRECTV.

The instillation time itself changed twice, the billing has never been correct....tied to ATT Uverse for internet and the exact same issues with them.

No one at Directv nor Att can seem to correct the billings. They become extremely combative on each and every call. Att is just dumb as hell.

Run, run and then run some more! DO NOT go with either of these companies for anything! The heart ache and idiotic attitudes are too much to deal with.

BTW, Directv has twice in four months failed to send me a bill! The customer dis-service personnel cannot email me one nor can I sign into my account on line and print anything but a total due!

Never in my 62 years have I been treated so badly, nor have had to deal with such incompetence,

and indifference that I have had to deal with Directv. Nine months after closing my account, and after at least 6 very lengthly attempts on the phone to get the "return kit", which I never received, they charged me for the equipment, and sent that to a collection agency, without even telling me. When they admitted that they had sent to a completely wrong address, they then refused to send me another.

I am still fighting them, trying to return this old and now worthless equipment.

I have been at battle with DirecTV for months now over an unauthorized charge to my debit card which put me in severe financial jeopardy.

I was out of contract and had cancelled my service. About six months prior I had stupidly given them my debit card number so I could be on the convenience of autopay. I started getting nervous about that so a few months later I cancelled autopay which according to my attorney negates their authorization to charge the card.

Much to my surprise, when I cancelled my service they used this card for my final bill. They maintain because in their boiler plate fine print they say they can charge any card they have on file for any reason in so many words. Basically if this were legal they are proclaim that they in so many words have a license to steal from their customers.

They may have this in their fine print but it doesn't mean its legal according to my attorney. His response was that this falls in the realm of common law and for them to charge my card there must be a 2 party consent. Obviously I in no way gave them my consent. I am a very careful consumer and I resent their attitude of omnipotence when it comes to charging their customers credit or debit cards.

There are thousands of cases like this and this bullying has got to stop. I have "cut the satellite cable and all cable" and I would urge more to do so. They are all ripping use off and they are losing customers rapidly. This gives me great satisfaction.

My attorney urges me to take this to small claims court where I will surely win plus get reimbursed for my attorney and court costs.

Mostly I posted this complaint here because I wanted to spread the word about these bullying companies who think they are above the law. You watch - soon they will be extinct just like Blockbust Video and others.

As a homeowner and landlord I thought I was doing my new tenant a favor when she asked if she could transfer her Direct TV to our residence. As I was going to be out of town (yeah, OK, I should have known better) I reviewed with the tenent where on the house the dish could be placed. When I returned home the installer had butchered the back of my house and installed the thing in about the most obtrusive location possible. He drilled over 17 holes in the side of my house and then proceeded to not pre drill the achoring bolts he did use so that the cedar clapboard siding was split behind every bolt he used. My wife came home while he was installing it and the installer quickly told her he would fill in the hole riddled siding which he then promptly didn't do as he left.

Not happy with either the location or the hack job the installer did I then sought to have it relocated to get it out of my line of sight while sitting on my back porch and have it placed where it should have been. Customer Service at Direct TV? Ouch!! First I was told I would have to file damage reports, get estimates for repairs etc., and basically spend a couple of hours of my life officially asking them to fix the problem...when I told the customer service rep. I shouldn't have to spend my time working on their mistake and that I just wanted it moved I was informed that I would be charged 60 dollars. They claimed they had my wife's signature allowing placement; my wife claims otherwise.

Let's face it Direct TV, just like Comncast or other corporate megacompanies, is a nightmare to deal with when it comes to customer service, they butcher my house and the best they can do is offer to have me pay for it.
