Well as anyone will tell you if you want your butt kicked. Refer a friend to dish. They install ""free"" Ha. Just wait. After you discover how poor thier service is and try to leave .They will charge as much as 480. also your high speed internet maybe twice as much as you expect. they call it out of service areas. In reality your in the middle of town. Hey guess what for 20 dollars more each month you can have close to what you bargained for. The bill seems to get higher and higher each month. my mother had comcast and I noticed she had twice the channels for almostthe same price and a free phone and unlimited long distance. Me i got to go pay extra from somelandline company. Well to make a long story short. They are unable to compete. So they try to force some contract down your throat. Lets face it people don't read those long dry contracts. But they are great for dish. Tie up there customers with plenty of costs. Like mailing the boxs back. Refuse to cancel your service unless you are completely caught up . Whats the difference a cancel should be a cancel. Stay away. Stay far away.

I signed a contract with dish for tv and satellite internet. I just want everyone to be aware how they get you to sign and the games they play.

When you first inquire about the service, the pitch is $39.95 for 5 gigs of download and an additional off peak of 5 gigs. According to the sales pitch, when you have updates, have them download at the off peak hours to save your anytime usage. We had Verizion and paid for 5 gigs and only a few times did we ever go over. With 10 gigs we should never go over.

Well that is not the case. We were maintaining 5 gigs pretty much the first few months. I did question why we never used off peak usage because we use the computer mostly before we go to work and off peak is 2am to 8am. The pitch I got was ""We don't monitor off peak usage yet so it never registers."" Found that hard to believe but ok.

Then one time we ran out of anytime usage. The cost for 1 gig was almoast as much as upgrading to 10 gigs anytime and 10 gigs off peak. So we upgraded so it wouldn't happen again. Dish claims you can download movies with this amount such as netflixs and play games. We don't do either but now this month once again we are out of anytime with the 20 gig package. Earlier I wrote that you download on the off peak and dish really doesn't monitor it. WRONG!

Here is the truth. When you buy a package, there is a anytime usage and an off peak usage. It doesn't matter that you download updates on off peak hours because it comes off your anytime usage: hence the term anytime. When you use that up they want you to upgrade to the next package. Otherwise you get slowed down to a snails pace and full speed on off peak. They don't monitor off peak is BS. Once you use up anytime watch how close they monitor off peak. Trust me there isn't any freebies here.

I am really surprised that there isn't a class action lawsuit against dish yet for these tactics. The thing that gets me is their false advertizing of their service. I know they can't say how much internet a particular user may use but at the same time they mislead you into believeing that you get more sevice than what they give. The other thing that bothers me is how do I know how much usage I am really using? I started to monitor it and even on days when I didn't use the service I had .5 of gig usage everyday. Like a slow leak shall I say. They have a usage scale but to say I used x this day is impossible. It's just a graph that tells you how much you have left.

In my opinion, I had far better service and felt more comfortable with Verizion 4g than with dish. I could take verizion with us camping while with dish it's at home and that's it. I am going to investigate the 4G service and get away from dish. The satellite internet always seems to be disappointing and the only reason to get it is if you don't have a choice. Fortunately we do now.

Let the buyer beware!

I signed up with Dish, they were to charge $62.65 per month, I paid $87.00 for first month, 5 days later they charge me $82.57, then $62.65, $122.26, $129.94, $124.52, $129.86, $110.35, $129.05, different amounts each month, I only had standard stations, no HBO, no special sports, no MAX, no STAR, no ENC, never order a movie, we had the same standard stations every month.

Customer nightmare said they would issue me credits, never received full credits, just a few dollars, Customer nightmare were rude, and no help, presidents office was worse, I called to terminate service and they were nasty and Steven hung up on me, I have his full name, I purchased another TV service but Dish keeps billing me, I called again presidents office to disconnect , Amana hung up on me, I called again and told them I had gone with a new company, I don't know if they have cancelled me or not, but I was told by Denise in president office they would cancel. I never got my money back from them overcharging me.

Save yourself trouble, time wasted and money, don't hook up with DISH. Class Action anyone?
