I bought the Cisco DCP3939 and tried to provision it. Comcast told me to take it to their service center because it had been stolen. I contacted Comcast again today and they confirmed the gateway had been stolen.
Had I retuned it they would have charged me 20% to 30% (they surely would not have) to check the modem.
Also they charged me $10.00 for 2 day delivery - which they do anyway.
Received a modem, it was broken. Receive the second and it was broken. Returned it and they did not credit back my money. Another friend of mine received a stolen xfinity modem from them. He had to send it back to comcast. He did not receive his money back from this company
I purchased an Xfinity Gateway Modem 9/1/14 and it arrived in what appeared to be new packaging with instructions. Got it up and running fine.
In March 2015, Comcast started billing for a rented gateway modem. After speaking to Comcast, they advised they do not sell their modem and only lease it. They advised that the modem I purchased was stolen and that I should return it to Dontleaseyourmodem.com. I don't know if this is true or not, but Comcast is going to continue charging for the rental, unless I purchase another compatible modem to use.
I purchase a EMT Cable Modem from this company after talking to someone there. I found the discussion helpful. I immediately ordered the equipment. UBEE DVM3203B. It was refurbished. I got it a few days later in a padded envelop. When I opened the envelop I saw that it was scratched up more that I expected plus it had not be cleaned well.. (not filthy with a few dirt marks that easy wipe off with a paper towel.)
I receive the instructions for setting it up. These worked flawlessly and the modem does work with my telephone. But 2 of the LED lights do not work. (Power and Telephone1). I contacted support by email and received very wrapid responce from support. I told him I was not happy about the LEDs not working and the general appearance of the device.
After multiple exchanges via email (all of which were very civil) I was told that the since the modem was functional with comcast then it is not considered defective. At this point in time, I will use it as is, but I am concerned that the defective LED may be the first indicator of things to come.
This device was not that expensive and it will not be the end of the world if it fails but I am greatly disappointed in the company. They do not seem to take pride in their products and want to do the best for their customs and keep them happy.
I would not buy from them again and suggest you carefully look at other reviews of the compy prior to working with them.
