Dressale.com Reviews

The dress I received was not as described and obviously put together in terrible sweatshop conditions. The size that they claim was within the sizing tollerancies: The dress ordered was a size 4 with a 32" bust item received was a size 9 on top (38" bust). The shoulder straps are 2" too long, the there is a bunching across the front near side slit - not a dress design, the right side of the dress is tapered in but not on the left.

The company continues to argue that the dress in within the size requirements, and will not reference the other issues of the dress. I have followed there requirements for a refund but they refuse to comply.

I have sent them at least 22 emails and they always respond with random responses about how they cannot afford to give a full refund because they pay too much for the dress to be made. They are refusing to give me a full refund but will give me a 10% discount on my next order.

Please do not order from this company! I wish I would've read the reviews on this site before ordering my dress.

I came across this lovely dress for my upcoming wedding on dressale.com. I was so excited... especially about the price! I guess you get what you pay for. I even paid an extra $20 for a custom tailored fit. Needless to say the dress looked nothing like the advertised picture. It was a complete mess! AND, it didn't fit.

After about 10 emails I finally gave in and accepted their 10% refund. Now I'm stuck with this horrible dress. Please someone shut this site down!

The dress I received was a total mess and obviously put together in terrible sweatshop conditions. It barely looked like the dress advertised. There were tears, threads, and a pin sticking out!

The company continues to argue that the dress looks 90% like the picture, which is totally false.

I have sent them at least 7 emails and they always respond with random responses that make no sense or strange metaphors. They are refusing to give me a full refund and all I have gotten from them is a 15% discount. It seems to be a total scam.

I purchased three bridesmaid dresses from Dress Sale on 19 Feb 2014 for AUD $361.52. Words cannot really explain how shockingly dodgy and unprofessional this company is. The hem of the dress was accidentally sewn, lifting the it up to see your butt, the sizes were all incorrect despite them calling me at 2am to confirm measurements, the dress quality and design is of very poor standards (from the material to the hem to the ribbon to the zipper -EVERYTHING) and lastly, it is straight up deceptive advertising as the dresses we received looked NOTHING like the photos.

They are indeed Chinese make, designed and sewn by inexperienced 10 year olds. See attached photos. The 1st photo is what I ordered but in pink, the other photos is what they made me!

PLEASE note that the dresses advertised on their website is NOT their dresses, it it another company's, which they steal and intend to imitate. They claim they have refund and exchange policy and a "Customer Guarantee"-BS! It is only there to ease the buyers into thinking the Company is legitimate and honest. They are not. Do yourself a favour, spend an extra $500 to buy from quality and reliable dress companies. I gave these dresses to the Smith Family. When I asked for a refund, it went back and fourth (ten emails), they said (to all three defected dresses and that looked nothing like what I ordered):

"Since the dress is custom made,it is inevitable to have some deviation...the whole design of the dress is still very well, right?we are willing to give you a jacket or shawl for free for the next order as compensation,OK?". Hahaha DODGY! I hope this company gets investigated by consumer affairs (if there is any in China!)

STAY AWAY FROM THIS DODGY HONG KONG ONLINE COMPANY.

I wish I would've read all these reviews before I gave these uneducated people my hard earned money! This company is full of thieves! I really believe that they believe we are all as stupid and incompetent as they are. I ordered a formal dress to wear to my husband's Marine Ball. When I received it Friday, I was shocked they even shipped it out! There was stitching unfinished resulting in a huge 2.5 inch hole under my left arm, a pleat on one side and not the other (very noticeable), a big missing patch of sequins on front of dress and the arms were like boxes, no tapering whatsoever, a 5 year old could've done a better job! Not to mention the shoulders were uneven and the top of the dress didn't sit on my chest, but left a gap of 2-3 inches! When I emailed the customer support to let them know I wasn't happy with the dress they replied with the same as everyone else has stated in their reviews, to send pictures as evidence of my complaint. I did as they asked and then received the following email:

Dear customer,

Really sorry that you are not satisfied with the dress we made.We made the dress by hand instead of machine, which sometimes may result in the imperfect stitching. But this won't affect the whole dress.Would you mind fixing the dress locally? This is the best way for both of us .About the compensation, since we are custom made and the cost which included the materials, workers salary ,all kinds of handling fees, etc. is a bit high, the profit is quite low.Besides,it takes more than 10 days to make a dress and the workers' wages is not as high as that in your country, they live an uneasy life, hope you will understand. Of course ,since you are not satisfied with the dress ,we will offer you some compensation as well.If you want to order something else from us in the future,we can offer you 10% discount. For example,if you buy a $17 skirt or pants, with the discount, you just need to pay $15.3,if you order $25 items, then you just need to pay $22.5.Anyway,that means the more you purchase ,the more discounts you will get.Hope you will like it.

The dresses on the web site are beautiful, but that is not what you will receive. The dress I received was not the color shown on the website, even though I asked the representative who called me to confirm my measurements, if the color of my finished dress would be soft pink. She said similar to the website. The dress I received was BRIGHT PINK.

The tailoring of the dress is unlike any dress sold anywhere. The material is very bulky and it is lined in another bulky material. The pleates across the waist and bodice are uneven and bulky. The dress could add 40 pounds to any figure. The bust area is not located at the bustline. It's about two inches to high.

I wish I had thought about disputing the charge with my credit card company. I instead tried to resolve my problem with dressale.com. After about 20 emails back and forth, dressale offered me a 10% refund which was about $17.00. I paid &177.00 for an unwearable dress.

I ordered a dress and was called from DRESSALE within an hour. After realizing there was no way the dress would get to me in time, I cancelled the order. On the webpage it says 100% refund if cancelled within 24 hours. I get an email the next day from DRESSALE telling me they are charging me $30 to cancel this $99 dress order since there are transaction fees. I explained their webpage said clear as day states "100% refund"

They told me what it meant was 100% store credit. They didn't seem to understand a store credit and refund are not the same thing. After several emails back and forth, payPal finally settled the dispute and refunded my money. I guess they still don't know that because I just got another email from them about these transaction fees.

Dressale.com mis manufactured a custom gown ordered and paid for and refuses to honor thier stated return policies. The dress was 3 inches too small and despite thier admission that they made the dress too small they refused to provide return and refund information.

When reviews were posted, the immediately deleted them and blkcked me.

This website is completely fraudulent, if they make the dress to the sixe you send you are lucky, but do not expect them to work withyou if they made a mistake

I have to honestly say this was the worse experience ever purchasing online.

Stay away from this company you will receive poor workmanship and irregular merchandise and will not get a refund. They have all this materail about there manufacturing process and you will find quite clearly that they will uphold non of it.

I am not going to go into many details as you can read many of the other complaints. They need to be shut down.

I used paypal for this transaction and shuld have known better.
