I have been shopping through Ebates for years now and have run into multiple problems. The main problem that I've been having quite a bit lately would be transactions that are not showing up. I know that I went through Ebates to make a purchase and while shopping can see the 'Ebates Cash Back' banner at the top of my screen. But, when I login to check my cashback, there's nothing there! And this seems to be happening much more often with purchases over $1,000. So, I've written to them and given them the store I shopped at and the order number and date/time. And you can see that I went through Ebates to that store at that time... But they still insist that I did not make a qualifying purchase. I believe this has happened about 4 or 5 times now and I forget at what point I stopped reporting. I have a website with advertisers and know how this works. Even if you just click on the link to go to a store through them, you can make a purchase (for some websites) up to 120 days later and Ebates will still get paid a percentage of you're purchase!!!! For a company that is making millions that people don't even know about, you would think that their tracking and customer service would be stellar! Instead, they're just ripping people off. It's disgusting how much money they make off of us (they're keeping most of the profit on YOUR sale and your money) but then they have to scam us to and say we didn't make a qualifying purchase when we did. Thanks so much, Ebates! You just made a couple hundred off me again and I didn't get my measly 30 bucks! Forget trying to get $1 back! Shop through the smaller blogs that need the commission to try to make a living!
I recently went to the site EBATES.COM. I believed this site to be a realistic site where I could shop, make purchases and actually get paid. Was I out of my mind, a site like this is too good to be true for an avid consumer. I am APPALLED by what EBATES did to someone who would have been a loyal and long time customer. Now don't get me wrong, EBATES did pay me $.19 for two small purchases that were made, then came my larger shopping spree. I was to receive 3% back from an AT&T purchase. I logged on to EBATES, clicked on a Galaxy Alpha offer, was brought directly to AT&T site and told all you need to do now is SHOP! And that's exactly what I did, purchase a $619.00 Alpha phone, which I should have received 3% back on. Of course, for some strange reason it wasn't on my purchase log that I had gone through the Ebates site. I immediately emailed EBATES explaining my experience along with what steps I had followed and my online reciept. At first they couldn't accept it because I made it on the phone, then I showed them my reciept. Then it wasn't within the time frame, I showed them the date. Finally, I didn't go through EBATES. I asked how I would know about the offer they were advertising and why I would know the EXACT steps and purchase the EXACT phone they were offering and not use the site. No explanation, simply SORRY we can't assist. I am appalled by what EBATES did to me, I could have purchased ANY phone I wanted but figured why not get some cash back? Guess what, I got scammed. Do you self a favor, they don't confirm purchases and the same will happen to you, STAY AWAY FROM EBATES!!!
I decided to use ebates for a big purchase I was going to make on cyber Monday. They advertised that I could recieve 10% cash back if I clicked on their button through their site to make a purchase through sears. Well I did this rather then doing out and buying a T.V. as it would make more sense only if I was going to revieve the 10% back. Without that 10% I would of been better of making the purchase in a store like Walmart or Best Buy. After making the Purchase and waiting there was nothing. I filed a report and they said it would take 10 days. I waited another 10 days and filed another report as I hadn't heard much back. I now 18 days after I made this purchase come to find out they will now give me the money for my purchase! I shared with them all the information they wanted and to scam someone like that.
This has to be fruad and false advertising, If an attorney does see this I would love to join a class action lawsuit against this company. This is unfair what they are doing to people. I now have damages thanks to Ebates. I then searched to see if other people had been treated like this and of course they have! STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!
I made a large purchase from Sears using the Ebates link. Got a cofirmation from Ebates. When I checked my account, no record of the purchase. I put in customer service inquiry and was told that there is no record of the purchase being made through their site. This company pays small rebates of a few pennies or dollars, but anything large they will claim no record and deny your rebate. It is a rip-off. Do not use them. I am canceling my account immediately.
