Beautiful day walking along Lexington Avenue, lured into a store by a hand lotion sample, I had been thinking of buying a moisturizer anyway.
Totally sweet talked by by young man who totally flattered my ego, before I knew it I'd bought hundreds of dollars worth of stuff, which is totally unlike me. I left feeling really weird, embaressed but kept rationlizing that I could use the product anyway. Didnt tell my husband.
Today used some of the products and my skin began to burn and then get blotchy! Couldn't believe it, innocent me went to the internet to find the phone number of the store to call the salesman, and what did I find first? Twenty plus complaints of this being a rip-off on this site!
Called the store anyway and a man answered with a "hello" as if it was a private phone. He finally understood that my skin was blotched up and he said to call back in 30 minutes "when the manager was there". AHA!
Finally, getting the message that Id been rooked I called my credit card company right away and explained that I wanted to dispute the charge. And they said they would take the dispute as the product didnt do what it was advertised to do. I figured let the scammers try to convince Visa that blotches were normal, not to mention that I paid at least 5 times what the list price is for these products!
BUT, to cover my behind, I sent the salesman, a very nice e mail, and of course he didnt answer!
SO I feel like a jerk, and I hope you will beware of these scammers with a store in NYC now; they seem to have kiosks all over the place . Also, if you are a lady of a certain age, don't let your ego get the better of your rationality!
