I have written here a Year ago, with the same issues all of you have complained about, and no-one seems to want to help. Not even the Law Suit. I have included at the bottom some information that may be of interest (HELP IS ON THE WAY!!!)
EquiCredit/Fairbanks/SPS/Select Portfolio (what ever they call themselves these days) Is still up to no good. Last year they forced foreclosure on my house, do to over due back taxes not paid. We made an arrangement with the State Marshal (No problem for them)but for Fairbanks NOT GOOD ENOUGH. They started the foreclosure, They Refused our mortgage payments.
Fortunately We were able to obtain $ from a private investor to save our home, $28,000 later Forclosure Fees,Taxes and Mortgage Payments Caught up to date. We were able to Keep our House. After the Law suit, over paid them over $3000.00 worth of illegal fees not including the foreclosure. We received a check for $200 (what a slap in the face.) This company is the worst to deal with. 1st of the month, you receive 10 calls in 1 day looking for payment, where's the grace period? Late charges are supposed to be 89.68 all of a sudden they started charging $100.00.
How can they just change in the middle??? To make a long story short. After 4years of fighting and almost giving up, we have finally refinanced our home, GOT RID OF FAIRBANKS for GOOD & our Private Investor!! After fighting & searching the net and getting the information we needed to prove EquiCredit-was Fairbanks-now SPS (after their reps denied it)Fairbanks/SPS will tie up Payoff requests ($150.00 Fees)(Fax Fees $50.00)
We finally CLOSED OUR LOAN 5/4/05. The only tie we have with Fairbanks/SPS now is waiting for the check of overpayment $1800.00, once we receive it Let bye gones be BYE GONES FOREVER!
