I went to FreeCreditReport.com and obtained reports from Experian and TransUnion without issue. After providing answers to security questions for the Equifax report, the system rejected my request saying "Online Delivery Unavailable Mail in Request" and "We're sorry, for your protection we are unable to deliver your Equifax Free Annual Credit Report online." I then attempted the same directly through their website, which does not offer the "FREE" option without using FreeCreditReport.com. So I looked into other products they sell on the Equifax website and found one for "Credit Report & Score". I was curious to see if they would reject my request for my "protection". Within seconds after making payment, I was able to review and print my entire report. For my protection? Really? SO WHY WERE THERE NO SECURITY QUESTIONS AFTER MY PAYMENT WAS MADE FOR THE SAME REQUEST? Money. That's why. They seem to be skirting the free annual report requirement. All or most questions of their "security" questions via FreeCreditReport.com seem arbitrary and unrelated to the consumer, which is likely leading to high (delivery) rejection rates for consumers' online requests and high profits from those consumers' looking to avoid sending their personal data via the US Postal Service (i.e. Social Security card, Pay stub with Social Security Number, W2 form, Driver's license, Rental or lease agreement/house deed, Pay stub with address, Utility bill). I want my $15.95 back ASAP!!! If a lawyer is willing, please contact me.
