Erie Construction Midwest Reviews

My 70 year old Mother wanted to paint her house. We, my wife and I, agreed to do it for her this summer. Yesterday we had no idea she had any intention of putting on Vinyl Siding, but she had already been approached by two men working for Erie Construction Midwest, Inc., and luckily found out who put the idea in her head.

We signed a contract with Erie Construction for new windows and siding. That was in August. So far no problems with the siding but the windows are another story. We have a picture window that was installed ""bowed"" and a bedroom window that you have to slam shut to lock then lift the right hand side of the window up to make sure the lock locks.

It is now January 25th, 2014 and we still don't have the problems corrected. We have contacted the Toledo office numerous times and are constantly getting a different story every time we talk to them. They replaced the front window finally but we are still waiting for it to be finished (trim, etc) and the bedroom is yet to be fixed.

The installer who came to correct the problem with the bedroom window was told to put some shims in it to fix it. Really? We paid almost $20,000 for siding and windows and feel we were definitely overcharged! The installer said the bedroom window needed to be replaced and so now we are playing the waiting game again for this to be fixed.

Had an appt for 9:00 to have the window fixed but low and behold, the frame is not in.l Would have been nice if someone would have called us and told us that so we were not sitting around waiting for them to show up. I asked for some compensation for all of our inconviences and they sent us a $50. gift card. Big deal. I was thinking more along the lines of a reduction of our window bill but I'm sure that's not going to happen especially since the financing is all done.

I can write a few chapters on the experiences we have had including the installers that installed the windows and siding originally, I would not want them at my house ever again. So again as of today (1/25/14) we are waiting to get the job complete. They claim the window have a lifetime guarantee and like we said, it will take a lifetime to get the windows in right.
