Eye Glass World Reviews

I have dealt with this store before to order my own glasses and contacts. My boyfriend lives a hour south from me and I took him to Eye Glass World because I had dealt with them before. His glasses were only 3 months old and he needed one of the nose pads replaced. The man at the store was replacing the nose pad when he broke the arm off the glasses and the frame. I was standing right in front of him when it happened. His comment was, ohhh this just fell off. Well it didnt just fall off, he broke it. He attempted to glus the arm back onto the frame and told us not to wear them for several hours. Later that night it fell off again. My boyfriend had to go to work that day without use of his glasses. We returned to the strore that evening and they tried to sell us a new pair of glasses for $130.00. They refused to reuse the lenses and wanted us to by a whole new pair of glasses. I left a message for the store manager to contact me. He never returned my message. I called the store, and left another message for Alex and to this day he has never contacted me. I would have been willling to pay something to have the glasses fixed, or repaired since I know it was a accident, but $130.00 is ridiculous. They are constantly running ads for 2 pairs of glasses starting at $78.00 . Its a scam. Buy the time you add the lenses and all there markups your lucky if you get out of the store under $200-$300.00. Bait and switch. I have been to the store previously before this incident to purchase my glasses and contacts. The customer service and the way in which they handle walk in customers is horrible. No ones ever at the front desk, the associates see you come in and dont even acknowldege you. And you wait, and wait, and wait. When I did see the doctor for my eyeglass appt., it was half hazardly done, and i had a few questions pertaining to having a slight bifocal on my old glasses, but none for my new glasses. When the doctor told me I dont need bifocals. I asked about contacts too and wouldnt you know it, I cant see with the glasses because it has no bifocal. and the and the contacts I can read with if I use reading glasses. I think all these chains are only interested in moving you in and out. I will not be back to this store nor will I recommend Eye Glass world. My boyfriend made a special trip with his broken glasses to another eyeglass place, and they were able to reuse his lenses in a new frame for under $40.00. I feel Eyeglass World should have had to pay for this.
