Factory Outlet Store Reviews

  • May 28, 2015

Initially did Google Search online to purchase name brand Samsung water filters for refrigerator and www.factoryoutletstore.com showed as offering Brand name Samsung filters. Prior to placing order, I called their customer service number, see above, to ask specifically if the filter were Brand name Samsung and not generic. The representative told me they were definitely Brand name Samsung filters. When I received my order of 6 filters, they were all generic WaterSentinel filters and I had never been called or emailed about any issues and I was still charged the same amount! When I called customer service, I was told they had run out of the Brand name and the representative had a foreign accent. I informed her I was never asked regarding whether or not I even wanted a substitute and was charged the same amount as Brand-they had not adjusted the price, even though generic are considerably cheaper. I asked for a return label that would have package picked up at my front porch (as they had already caused a great deal of inconvenience) and she agreed to do so but by email in 3 days. When it finally arrived, this label's instructions were to travel to a drop off center which is NOT close by my home-again I had been lied to. This is a Bait and Switch operation in that they will tell customers they will supply Brand name merchandise and charge in that price range, then send generic and not consult the customer regarding the change nor make price adjustments. A pretty good scam! Then they make it even more inconvenient by not immediately sending a return label (I charged this on credit card so had some protection) but others have even had to pay for the return postage AND a restocking fee!! When I called them back to request to speak to a supervisor, the first time I was put on a lengthy hold time and then was hung up on without speaking to anyone. When I called back, the representative rudely and abruptly told me that I need to speak to the person who answers the phone when I asked to speak to a supervisor and not waiting to hear my response, he hung up on meagain!! He had made it very clear he would not allow me to speak to a supervisor Highly unethical and fradulent company with Bait and Switch operation. Has "F" rating with BBB but GoGoTech the parent company owned by Dan Cashman has A+ BBB rating. Have filed IC3 report for Internet Fraud.

I ordered a product online from this company. As is my habit, I also made a screen shot of the web page. I then received a confirmation of the order with the description of the product matching the one as shown on their web page. The product that I subsequently received was an entirely different product and was not an acceptable substitution. I took a picture of the product that I received along with the original shipping carton. The product was placed, unopened and undamaged, back into the original shipping carton, taped up and taken to the UPS hub and returned - at my cost. I have not received full credit for the return and this company has refused to issue credit for my out-of-pocket cost of $11.35 to return the product even though the error is theirs. I should not have to pay to return a product incorrecly shipped by the retailer. Since the erro is completely theirs, I expect full creit for the product returned to them and credit for the cost of shipping.

BUYER BEWARE! My experience is that their Customer Service staff will lie, manipulate, and ultimately cheat and steal from you!

BUYER BEWARE! Factory Outlet Store has totally deceptive business practices .. my experience is that their Customer Service staff will lie, manipulate, and ultimately cheat and steal from you! I have SEVEN months of notes on this problem but I will try for your sake to pare it down .. to save you from the trouble I had with them!

My experience:

*05/13 Planning a trip to Italy so was primarily interested in the advertised "Free Lifetime Maps Included" on the GARMIN NUVI 1370T. Called 800-816-0810 and spoke to "Roger" at x261 .. told him what my purposed purchase was for .. he assured me the Map Updates were for: the U.S, Canada, Mexico and Europe. He was very charming and promised me (I told him I was a grandmother of 10 without a grandchild in town to help so he needed to be sure he was selling me the right thing!) .. he assured me it included the Lifetime Map Update Card for Europe. That if I had any trouble at all just to call him directly at x261.

5/12/13 Received GARMIN NUVI 1370T .. BUT with ONLY the Lifetime Map Update Card for North America .. NOT included was the one for Europe .. on Order #FOS2995217E. Spoke to someone .. they said they could not just send me a Lifetime Map Update Card for Europe .. I would have to return the whole unit and be sent out a new unit. They said they would send me an emailed product return shipping label. I never did receive that emailed shipping label!

BUT over the next period of time my husband was in the hospital and my focus was not on a GPS unit! During this time I did call repeatedly leaving a message for Roger on x 261 .. did not receive a call back .. did not start making notes of dates but also spoke about this issue to: Austin x266 .. Neil x224 .. Tracey x271.

8/30/13 Once again tried Roger on x261 and started making notes of dates. Left voicemail but again no return phone call .. at least I deserved a courtesy call explaining problems were not his department now but he was going o refer me to xyz!

9/12/13 Spoke to Carlos x251 .. was referred to Megan x259. Megan said she could not just send me a Lifetime Map Update Card for Europe .. I would have to return the whole unit and be sent out a new unit. She would email me a product return label .. it would take 2-5 days after receipt of the old unit for the new unit with Lifetime Map Update Card for Europe to be shipped to me. I made her repeat back to me so there would be absolutely NO MISTAKE: You will be shipping out a GARMIN NUVI 137T WITH Lifetime Map Update Card for NORTH AMERICA AND EUROPE! SHE DID REPEAT IT!

9/16/13 Called Megan x259 yet again .. I have not received the product return shipping label! Just as I had never received the promised shipping label in May 2013. Megan informed me her request "Had been removed by a Manager."! But by the end of the day she would see that I did receive the shipping label. PLUS she told me that BOTH TRACY AND MEGAN had noted on my account that when the Garmin 1370T was received by Factory Outlet that they were to ship out a new Garmin Nuvi 1370T with BOTH North America and Europe Lifetime Update Cards! That BOTH people had noted that on my account!! (It should be noted: in the ad I saw it said "Free Lifetime Maps Included".

09/13 When I looked again at their ad for the GARMIN NUVI 1370T .. they had ADDED RIGHT BELOW "Free Lifetime Maps Included" .. the words "Lifetime Map Update is for North America Maps"!! Absolutely no mention of the Lifetime Europe Updates! They were admitting how deceptive the original ad with "Maps" PLURAL was!

9/18/13 Received product return shipping label.. SHIPPED Garmin nĂ¼vi 1370T TO FACTORY OUTLET STORE

10/7/13 Called Megan x259 yet again. Have not received new unit .. we are moving to our winter home .. this needs to be shipped ASAP! She said the reason I had not received it yet was because the one I returned was "Returned for Credit" in a mix up .. NOT for a shipment for a new one! She said she would see that it was "shipped tomorrow .. you will receive it in 3-5 days".

10/14/13 Called Megan x259 yet again. Was given to Tracy x 271. "The unit is not in

Stock."

10/22/13 Tracy x271. Account status is "Hold". Manager is "going to see what they are going to do".

10/23/13 FINALLY .. they are NOT going to send me out a new unit .. they are going to credit my Visa for the purchase price of $164.95 .. I had her REPEAT BACK TO ME THE DOLLAR AMOUNT to confirm there was absolutely NO misunderstanding! The credit to my visa account would appear within 48 to 72 hours. I was on hold for a VERY long time .. but FINALLY some resolution! It had been repeatedly inferred that because of the period of time I had been dealing with this problem somehow it was MY fault .. very aggravating! "The return" period was past !! Excuse me .. look over your file .. READ!! It is YOUR fault NOT Mine!

At this point I am so irritated it has become the principal of the thing .. the money involved at this point is $164.95 .. the hours I have spent on this is FAR beyond the dollar value .. I just felt so ripped off.

So I found out the name of the Manager .. Keya .. they would not give me her extension number .. I had to request to speak to her!

10/29/13 Manny x231 .. Keya not in .. call 10/30

10/30/13 Spoke to Keya .. accounting will be mailing out the check

11/10/13 FINALLY RECEIVED A CHECK! BUT lied to and cheated yet again!

$164.95 Purchase price

$164.95 PROMISED and agreed upon credit

$128.21 CHECK #10055!!!

The last and FINAL RIPOFF and LIE! I was told the check amount would be $164.95 .. this is the FINAL POKE IN THE EYE!

My husband said just to let it go .. not worth the trouble .. BUT I decided to write this review .. BECAUSE if it helps just ONE person avoid the lies and cheating that I went through .. then "Random Acts of Kindness" .. pass it on! But I was ALSO so detailed so there was NO WAY Factory Outlet could do a FANCY REBUTTAL below my review! With ALL my dates/extensions #'s and details .. there is NO way they can wiggle out of this one!

False unfair and deceptive advertising to scam people into buying refurbished electronics Internet

BUYER BEWARE! My experience is that their Customer Service staff will lie, manipulate, and ultimately cheat and steal from you.

BAIT AND SWITCH PRACTICE and BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE.

I bought 2 OEM Samsung battries for a Samsung Infuse Cell Phone with extended warranty all made in Korea as the pictures shown in their advertisement and I received 2 batteries made all in China in a flimsy plastic bag.

I contacted their customer service 3 time asking them to refund the total amount of the transaction and to provide me with a prepaid return kit .

To this day I did not get any response .

I had to open a complaint with Paypal and they sided for me but I have to pay for return shipping for receiving a product completely not as described in their missleading had.

THis company Bait and Switch practice is not acceptable and I will not stand for it.

Their customer service is one of the worse as they completely ignore customers complaints and don't even bother to respond to emails

I purchased cell phone battery Order Number: FOS3580098E on 12/13/2013. Price $9.94 shipping $1.95= $11.89

They charged my account for the $11.89.

When it arrived it did not fit my phone-the wrong battery

I called in and they sent me a return label and assured me that the original shipping and my return shipping charges ($2.97) would be refunded as well as the price paid for the battery--which would be $14.89.

On 1.12.2014 they refunded $7.70 they missed the target by $7.19!!!

I notified this company of the problem and they will not respond.

I should know better. But, the Returnable Item 30 days on the Add To Cart check out gave me a false sense of security. I knew I should have read the return details before clicking CHECKOUT. Much like other people have reported I was lead to their store after a search GARMIN GPS. I was convinced I was dealing with Garmin. So much so that I called Garmin to return the item. Garmin searched every which way to find my order. I said something to the extent of it came from your outlet store - that was the clue the Garmin lady needed!

She immediately stated do you mean factory outlet store? I said yes, and then she replied unfortunately we are not afflilated with that company. I then said it was chintzy of Garmin to have this outlet store and not support their products. She then explained that the company is not part of Garmin, that Garmin gets numerous calls that turn out to be products purchased from Factory Outlet Store, she then wished me luck dealing with Factory Outlet. I stated Garmin should do something because the subtly suggest that they are Garmin.

I then found the phone number and email address for factoryoutletstore.com and contacted them. The CSR barely spoke English and not to disparge anyone, it sounded like an offshore call center (Indian or Pakastani). They were actually nice and prompt on the phone and immediately emailed me the Prodcut Return Form. I returned the product and noticed refund was significantly lower than amount charged.

I called them again and the Pakastani or Indian woman said about restocking fee and initial shipping costs to me. I said this is not a Buyers Remourse return -this is a defective product return. After a back and forth she waived the restocking fee. Then we started in on grossly inflated shipping costs. After explaining that I should not be forced to pay for them shipping me a defective produc, she acquiesed and refunded the entire amoumt.

My big problem with them is they trick you into thinking they are the manufacturer, and the boldy state Returnable Item thoughout the Checkout process. A 15% restocking fee is almost criminal for an unseen internet purchase. Finally, they jack up the initial shipping cost a ridiculous amount.

I think factory outlet got some heat from Garmin because they no longer pop to the top of the google search results page. I am sure we can get the same or better value from more reputable sites - overstock.com, amazon. I quit buying from eBay years ago due to shady sellers! As the Garmin lady told me, good luck (dealing with factoryoutletstore.com)!

FRAUD ALERT

I ordered two unlocked Samsung S5 cell phones. A $1650 charged was made to and accepted by American Express. Factory Outlet Shop, HOWEVE, contacted me to say they could not ship because the shipping address and the credit card billing addressES were different. BUT, American Express did accept and post the charge because I have listed the shipping address as a secondary address. I called American Express and confirmed that the charge went thru & posted.

I called Factory Outlet Store and they asked that I provide a faxed copy of the my Drivers License and the back of my credit card. American Express, however, had accepted and posted the charge. I chose not to provide a copy of drivers license and a copy of the back of my credit card (for fraud protection) and Factory Outlet Shop agreed to cancel the order plus reverse the charge.

THE FRAUD: They DID NOT REFUND THE $1650 charge and PROCESSED A SECOND $1655 charge plus several $1.00 charges against my credit card. I called to rectify and they RETAILIATED BY PROCESSING A THIRD $1655 charge for a total of nearly $5000 RIP OFF! When I called again, they threatened to charge another time. American Express is putting alerts on those charges and trying to rectify but Factory Outlet Store refuses to cooperate. i have closed that American Express account. Meanwhile, my available credit at American Express has been decreased by nearly $5000. Good thing I was not traveling. The people who speak to you at this Factory Outlet Store are located in probably India and can barely speak or understand English. I think this is a rip off operation. BEWARE
