A fax was received at my wife's workplace on 11/26/2014 advertising discounted vacation packages. She called the number provided 844-244-8133 and spoke to Kevin at x528. He proceeded to sell a trip to Hawaii for $295 x2 less a 25% discount ($442.50) if signed up within the hour for 2 round trip tickets to Hawaii and a 7 day stay. After that transaction we were forwarded to another shell company and requested a $69 x2 booking fee ($138.00) . After filling out that paperwork, we were assessed another $50 fee for booking and advised that we would have to pay any taxes and additional fees that would be tabulated. We got the email on 01/15/15 advising we had to pay another $1083 x2 in fees, making the trip approximately regular price as if we had booked it ourselves with a reputable company. Then after filing a BBB complaint we also contacted the company and paid them another $25 for a new booking arrangement that they claimed would be closer to the original offer, on 01/30/15 to further demonstrate that we followed all of their directions, knowning this was an obvious scam. The original $442.50 seems to lost altogther because Fun Time claims thats First Select Travel is a separate company and all they did was give us access to Fun Time. Fun Time then claims they are separate from The Travel Center that is at the same UPS mailbox store and box number in Clarksburg. We paid $442.50 to the first company, then $138.00 to the second, then $50 and $25 to the third. We have emailed them on several occasions requesting our second itinerary that we paid the additional $25.00 fee and have not heard back from them since 1/30/15 even though their email claims we'd hear back 5 to 10 business days after receiving our check.

We have contacted the Illinois Attorney General who then forwarded it to the Maryland AG who advised they would suggest we take the partial refund of the $138 but that they can not locate First Select Travel, who took the lion's share of the money. As others have stated on this site, it would be interesting to have an attoreny look at the cases as a possible class action. I beleive a judge would rule that the papers signed that Fun TIme is trying to hang their hat on was fradulant.

The Better Business Bureau of Maryland reports more than 105 complaints. So, many people who are not even willing to take the time to try to obtain their money back. Is Donna Comptroller really her name? Is the Travel Center working as a proper business? Is there one last spec of justice in the United States of America to put this business accountable for all the money they have collected under false understanding. Never believe what is verbally said. Talk is cheep.

This really is a scam, i too actually looking for vacation packages to travel with my husband to celebrate our birthdays this year in september. My mother received a flyer at work which is by the way a government agency as i too work for a government agency we take fraud and scams very seriously, she brought me the flyer and said look at this vacation package i received on the job, it was multiple vacations listed at prices ranging from 188-349. I WAS OVERLY JOYED AND FELT VERY BLESSED TO HAVE SEEN THIS PACKAGE NOT ONLY DID I TELL MY HUSBAND,BUT HIS FRIENDS, HIS FAMILY AND MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY , YES THIS WAS GOING TO BE A BIRTHDAY BASH TO REMEMBER SO I CALLED THE NUMBER LISTED ON THE FLYER AND SPOKE WITH BEN HE ASSURED ME THIS WAS A FLIGHT AND hotEL 3 DAYS 2 NIGHTS Vegas getaway , after i paid my inital fees of 288×2, i received an email confirmation, so im like great i read over the documents several times, and was convienced me and honey and our lovely peeps, would book a trip to remember.

this was great. Then the scam, so they emailed me telling me to send 69×2 for processing the booking arrangments, fine. Paid those fees, then weeks later another email with more processing fees, lol now i'm getting fustrated cause paid the 25×2 for the so called other processing fees, then received another email a week later stating this is the final payment 184.60 per person so im like ok this should be it but also the document stated respond in 24 hours or you need to submit an additionl payment of 25 so im like hell no, we paid up to this point and this is final great. Not at all so hotels.com sent me a confirmation resevervation booked, Me being a virgo, i have to confirm so i call the hotel and the reservation for the hotel was booked in full with the money i had sent the night before, i ask the gentlemen who im sure is unaware, of this fraudelent scam so i say well my travel company booked it where is my filght to get to the hotel, he says no flight booked ma'am.I thank him, cause he has no clue whats transpiring.I then call the scam artist first select travel to file a complaint.

Since we have a hotel booked which is non-refundable by the way, so how in the hell are we going to make it to vegas yeah we could drive but what happened to my flight hotel package? I spoke with Vicki, who was by the way very dry and a bit rude being in the customer service department. I am a child of god, so before i let Ms.Vicki have it, i requested to speak to her supervisor. She transferred me to Crystal, who is the owner by the way or claims to be, so as i start professing my concerns, Uneducated Crystal became very rude an annoyed with my truth, as stated earlier i am a child of god, so after Crystal tells me the booking agency was contacted, but u will have to make more purchases for the flight, i was furious.Being a child of god, i still acted lady like but before i could read Crystal her rights, the scam artist hung up. i called and am going to continue to call until this issue is resolved, Crystal should have realized everyone is different and everyones comfort level is different so i will not stop, sleep or rest until they are brought to justice and this company is taken down. Please help us bring this company down no one and i mean no deserves to be scamed, and frauded.FirstTravel Select and Funtime reservations get ready, this is war, and i can ensure you this is not a threat. Signed an unhappy child of god.

I received a fax at my place of employment (a school district) advertising excellent prices. Being sceptical, I called 3 times, thinking I had asked all the right questions. I received responses similar to those described in other reports, eg, that trips had been "bought back from companies" and were therefore offered at a good price.

While there was a 72 hour window in which to cancel (for a price), all the information was not disclosed until well after that window. I was referred to the Travel Center and then to Fun Time. This is where I draw the line.

Information was deliberately withheld that would have negatively influenced my purchasing the travel packages I did purchase. I was so happy that my husband and I would be able to visit our children that live out of state.

Now, I'm out money for nothing and have even less money available to visit our children. Can anybody do something to put these companies out of business?? Advertising thorugh a school district?? How low can you go??

I received a fax at my job for discounted travel packages. I called the number and asked the guy if this was for real. I was told First Select Travel buys back unused corporate travel packages and resells them at discounted price so they don't lose money. Sounds good right? Think again. I gave them $378 to "book" the vacation and had 72 hours to cancel. I was to await an email confirmation to continue the booking process. Two weeks later I contacted them looking for my booking instructions. I was then contacted by "The Travel Center" who required an additonal $69 per person to "book" my vacation. Ok, so now I've booked it twice right? Next day I receive an email from yet a third party, "Fun Time Travel" asking for $50 per couple to "book" my vacation. At this point I've become very suspicious and I googled "Fun Time Travel" the BBB gives all three of these companies and "F" I am guessing I should have done that first.

First Select Travel requested an initial payment for two vacation trips. You are requested to submit your bank account number for payment. Initial sales person misinformed her position as the "vacation booker" After initial payment you are then emailed a whole new set of terms a few days later. Now another party, The Travel Center is requesting payment of $69.00 activation fee per person mailed to 23219 Stringtown Road #223 Clarksburg, Maryland 20871. This location is a UPS Store. It also states that another booking agency will be contacted after "activation fee" is paid.

First Select Travel was contacted for full refund. Thirds party bookers or any other new procedures were never discussed. And initial sales person said she was the one to contact to book the vacation. She is no longer available. First Select Travel informed there will not be a refund and submitted paragraphs of terms and conditions that were supposedly discussed over the phone in two-minute conversation. Answers to questions seem to converse in circles that keeps this business institution free from defaulting on their services. Processes and procedures are such consumer may run out of time of their so called 12-15 month vacation package, to terms and conditions worded redundantly to have consumer pay additional charges or not to be refunded.
