Florida Business Consulting, Inc. Reviews

This company seems legitimate upon a quick Google search. I went in for an intitial interview and was made to believe I would be working on marketing campaigns and doing entry level marketing work for one of FBC's clients, Children International NGO. I was called back for a second interview, at which time they sent me an email detailing what that interview would consist of. Here is the actual email they sent me.

"The second interview will be conducted by a top representative. You will learn more about our clients, corporate structure, compensation, benefits, and of course, the sales and marketing position discussed in the first interview.

Please come prepared with another copy of your resume.

The interviews are expected to last for full days, so please have your schedule cleared until 8:15pm.

It is a full day, so it okay to wear more comfortable footwear with business professional attire.

At the end of the day, you'll meet again with the hiring managers and they will determine whether or not they want to offer you the position."

I arrived at the office with six other applicants. We were seprated and asked to go outside where we would be shuttled to their training location. One of the employee's at FBC drove us in their car to a Wendy's where the other groups met us. We paid for our own lunch. Upon getting back in the car, one applicant asked the manager "where are we going?" The manager doged the question and would not give her an answer. We arrived at a low-income restricted neighborhood in Miami Gardens which is NOT safe for anyone to be walking around in. The managers seperated the aplicants and dropped them off at various neighborhoods in the area. We were told to keep our cell phones OFF and leave our personal belongings in the car. At that point, the managers began knocking on strangers doors in the neighborhood and asking for a $28 donation for Children International. The managers smoked on the job, were unprofessional, cursed at people who wouldnt open the door and refused to introduce themselves professionally when someone asked who was outside. To make matters worse, they continued knocking on doors well after it became dark outside. It is NOT a safe neighborhood and these shady practices put every employee and applicant at great RISK. We were invited into several starnger's apartments at which time the managers happily walked in. This company lied about the interview process and did not disclose the fact that we would be on our feet, without a break, food or restroom for over six hours in an unsafe neighborhood. The company also markets their "training-program" as a start from the bottom and prove yourself job, but they NEVER state that the first 7-8 months will be spent outdoors walking from door-to-door in low-income and unsage neighborhoods sometimes 45 minutes away from their actual office. This company also advertises starting pay at $35,000-$55,000. That too is a lie. You will make roughly $200 per week if you meet your quota. Not only do you have to walk around the neighborhood and knock on doors once, you have to do the same loop THREE seperate times. This is a terrible, terrible company that abuses young professionals who are looking for work. They do NOT value your time and will lie at any cost to decieve you into their second-round interview process. Most new-hires do not stay for more than a month. We were also told the interview would last until 8:15 pm but we did not get back to the office until almost 9 p.m at which time they still wanted people to stay, fill out a survey and wait for an interview. Stay away from this company if you value your education, safety and life. They are liars.
