I cannot lay down for half an hour without finding ten blood sucking bed bugs crawling on my body, as many roaches scampering around the sink, crawling over my clothing, computer, furniture and even inside the refrigerator.
Despite complaining to the manager, who has since been replaced, over half a dozen times in a period of six months, the roaches and bed bugs remain in the apartment to this day, after a full half years of this disgusting and unsanitary torture. The problem is legally the responisbility of the management, yet I sprayed twice myself. No difference!
Finally the management, which still leaves three piles of garbage, bark and leaves in front of the apartment, attempted to get rid of the bed bug infestation. As of last night they are still there, and so are the roaches. No youth hostel nor cheap hotel in Egypt, China, Russia, Morocco, Indonesia, Thailand nor any in 50 other nations where people live on a few hundred dollars per year is worse, and only one men's hotel in New York where convicts and mental patients reside is worse.
The sign in front of the apartments advertised the rent as being lower than it actually is for about a year, and the four by four inch post that held it up finally tipped over for being completely infested with termites.
My apartment was broken into after the poorly fitting screen on the window was simply stollen, and the window opened with the bad latch with the push of a finger. The local who advertised they were going to steal from the apartment in this now bad neighborhood stole exactly what they said - unlike the management who could not eliminate bed bugs, roaches, termites despite numerous written and verbal complaints, and still has not after six months. Just the roaches and bugs crawling on your body is enough to drive anyone crazy. There are several apartments less than five blocks away with exactly the same floor plan that appear to be roach and bed bug free.
I literally cannot leave a meal on top of the microwave for five minutes without a roach flying into the food. All this, plus the management likes to talk alot and been rude, patronozing and authoritative without ever solving the problem. One tenant actually died in this fourty unit apartment complex while I was there and those hired to remove his belongings rudely complained about the burden of doing so without me asking.
