I deposited my money on thier site and when i decided to cancel the project and withdraw my money and the freelancer also agreed to cancel the project below is what i got from freelancer.com

Your account has been limited

for account security reasons until we can verify your identity. You can continue to work and receive payments, but you won't be able to transfer or withdraw funds. To verify your identity, visit the Verification Center.Visit the Verification Center

and below is what they asked me to send them ( which i think at least in my neck of the woods is not legal to ask to be sent to rease my money)

1. Government Issued Identification

Provide a scanned copy of a currently valid government issued ID, driver's license or passport which includes your photo, signature, name and date of birth.

2. Proof of Residential Address

Provide a scanned document as proof of residential address such as your bank statement (less than 3 months old), utility bill (less than 3 months old) or tax assessment (less than 12 months old) which includes your name and your current address.

3. Verification Code Confirmation

Provide a photo of you holding the verification code displayed below in one hand and your ID clearly visible in your other hand.

4. Answer the Following Questions:

Please explain the discrepancy between your address and your login location.

so they want all the above to release my money back to my account from which i sent them the money. if it was just the id card or passport one would have said ok so they want to verify my but no even autorities can aske for all these details with out sufficent cause and an autoritive order.

they are just nightmare. i have looked and the internet and have come accross many people that are really upset about them. to me it seams like some kind of scam or money loaundary opration. this is a business that has not phone number to contact them for any reason. i have sent them more that 20 emails asking them to send me thier legal department contact details to no avail. this business is really not stright and they most bedoing something under the table otherway how can it be that one can not get anyone on the phone. not even thier support comunication is personalised its all generic and script generate. i inted to build a website dedicated to poeple comenting aouby them and belive you me when i say alot of their current frrelancer would be the ons that will also be have alot to say aobut them.

On date 8 march 2015 , freelancer put my account on limit asking for verification..I submitted all my detail & they told us that we will get the response from their side after 48 hours..5 days has been passed away I didn't any response , today on date 15 March 2015, when I am trying to loggin in my account I am not able to do that as my account has been closed.

No reason has been told to me, No mail from freelancer side, when I tried to contact the support, they only reply that the issue has been escalated to senior department, Freelancer Support is the worst support in the world, the people who are giving you support are totally illetrate & they dont have any knwledge..

THere was around 90000 Rupeesin that account which has been stolen by freelancer, this is theif platform & suggest everybody not to use this as anthing can happen any time & you will not get any information

Ticket ID: IXA-519-51348

Department: Account Suspension

Type: Issue

Status: In Progress

Priority: Unset

I initially wrote asking WHY the additional $60 is sitting as a negative in my freelancer account when I was already charged $46 for the service. A repeat question is what I got and today I noticed on both my paypal account and banking online they have taken $61.38 OUT of my account WITHOUT my concent. I will be disputing this as I did not authorize this. do NOT use this company. Complete Ripoffs and Belong on this site.
