Freightliner Reviews

It begins in dallas texas i went to atc freightliner for repairs .my truck needed a head gasket repair.i was there for about 18 days for this particular repair.from 11/24/13 to 12/12/13 and cost $7914.08 at the time i wasnt sure i was satisfied with the repair and would need to drive it before i could say it was fixed properly

on 1/2/14 i needed to go to freightliner in dayton ohio for repair.the regeneration system which was replaced 7 months before was not working properly.it was and still is warranteed.it was determined a set of 6 new injectors and various parts were needed in order to do the repair.it was a very unexpected, timely and costly repair. i was there for 20 days.final bill $6120.39

on 2/18/14 i went to atc freightliner in fort worth texas for a repair to the engine brake.i had it looked at before i went there by an outside vendor, thinking i would save valuable downtime ,as well as money for cheaper hourly rates.with a computer it was determined the engine brake problem was a relay but required freightliner software to determine which relay was faulty. so back to freightliner .

they claimed they had issues with their software program and was 11 days before they could continue with the repair.during this time the vehicle develops problems with the regeneration system, which had been worked on in the previous repairs.i was there a total of 30 days.they replaced nearly every part that was already replaced in previous repairs.was warranteed parts but was charged labor fees.also due to freightliner software issues was charged more than 20 hours of diagnostics. the repairs and parts they switched and tried were too numerous to mention in effort just to determine what was wrong.i was there a total of 30 days.final bill $4730.02

i left there on 3/18/14 i was less than 100 miles away from there and engine warning light comes on.i called and told them i had a problem.it was noted and they would know that it was not fixed properly.i returned there 1 week later.it was determined there was an oil leak from the valve area which was running down a cable into the mcm.

i assume it was something that occured in the process of all the other work that had been done.that the valve cover was removed several times for various reasons including cam timing, throttle valve ,as well as an injector , i expected the repair to be warranteed.instead they gave me an estimate for another $3000

the personel there said they had never seen such a messed up repair, worst they had ever seen,

in my 20 years it is without a doubt the worst example of a professional repair shop i have ever even heard of.totally unexceptable .9 out of the last 16 weeks have been at freightliner repair shops .no income without a truck has all but ruined my business.but the downtime is impossible to recover from.
