In March, 2007 I was sub-contracted to perform a magic show for this company. Their pracctice is to have the entertainer collect the money from the customer, and then forward a portion to the company, which they receive in addition to a deposit the customer made.
I completed, yet another, successful show. I sent the funds to Fun Factory Parties via certified mail (at my expense). I started receiving dozens of phone calls from the owner, Jeff Herring, stating that he has not received the money, and that his buddy, named "Ryan", in San Diego will be coming to my home to kick my ass (since I supposedly didn't forward the measly $50.00 to him). I was a husband and father, and a dedicated professional. I have declined performances and have asked to be removed from their list of entertainers. I later reeived the signed returned certified receipt.
The hostile and erratic behavior of their owner was the most unprofessional I have experienced in my 19+ years as a performing magician. I would not recommend this company to anyone, as the Owner does not deserve any benefit, due to his "gangster"-like tactics, lack of compassion or concern for the customer or performer.
