I have been receiving letters from Convergent out of Houston, Tx that I owe GAP (Galaxy Asset Purchasing, LLC) an exaggerated amount that I have never heard of until the first letter. No one has gotten a card under my name either for I keep a close eye on my credit report. There has been no activity whatsoever from a Bank named GAP or anything close not even the amounts they claim I owe. To me, this is nothing but a scam to get money from someone who keeps up with their credit and they just want a piece of it to get back what others may of taken. Please advise on how I can get them off my back, life and credit.
I also received a letter from Convergent regarding Galaxy being the creditor and have never heard of these people. They stated the original creditor was Household Renaissance and never heard of them either...the amount they claim I owe is ridiculously high and I know I never bought anything at any time for this amount. I looked up Galaxy's website and it is very short and uninformative. They don't say who they are or what they do or sell. In addition, the bill was in my married name and I have been divorced for the past 8 years. I received a different threatening letter from another fake collection agency less than 6 months ago that claimed I owed money on a 20 year old Sears credit card that was closed when I went into a bankruptcy during that time, also using my married name. Someone needs to shut these companies down...they are scamming people left and right because some people won't research and will just send them money, fearing for their credit scores.
This company be calling me looking for people that I don't know. Now they sent me a letter saying that I owe 2,175.56 but they can settled 435.11. They said it's from a Pear card. I have never had a pearl card and it's not on my credit reported either. This company always try to scam people when it's close to taxes refund.
I just got a letter today from these scam artists saying I owe Chrysler 500 + dollars. Daimler Chrysler which does not exist, it is a Mercedes dealer in Euorpe. Arrest them assholes.
