Galesburg Rescue Mission Reviews

I cant believe that this place call themselves a place of god.... WE ARE A COMMUNITY SOCIAL SERVICE AGENCY offering hope for the homeless, hungry, poor, needy, addicted, mentally challenged, victims of domestic violence, ex-prisoners, lonely and lost. We do not discriminate on the basis of age, sex, handicap, race, color, religion, nationality or ethnic origin. Its purpose is to share God's love to all. Yet they discriminate against sex offenders. I was honest with them but they allow themselves be discouraged for no rational reason. 1. First they told me as long as i was not a Registered Child Sex Offender i could stay. And that Becky Grohmann "Galesburg Sex offender police officer" had to verify that i was not a child sex offender by defining (Sexual Predator). 2. They called and told me Becky Grohmann told them that the mission cannot let me stay there because illinois laws will not allow it. However i called becky, and she became hostle saying she never told the mission that. But i believe she did. I believe she became hostle because she know she lied. 3. But what gets me is that i had the Attorneys General Office "Jessica Oleaoy- 1-888-414-7678" call the mission to explain the definition of" Sexual Predator" in my case. The mission told her they're place of god dont want to have nothing to do with "any" sex offenders at all. Which i feel was a waste of time calling becky in the first place. I have a 4 ypur old lil girl, and Miss Oleaoy informed me today that i can go to a school grades 1-12 and or a school bus to get my lil girl, where Becky told me i cannot. Obviously Becky has a history of misinterpreting sex offender laws. 4. In 1993 i was talked into pleading guilty to a added attempt criminal sexual assault charge. the victim the was 18 and I was 20 in 1993 attempts did not have toregister. In 1996 Illinois added attempts to its sex offender registery and retroactive the law which add me to the registry for 10 years. In 2007 I completed my 10 year registration and was taken off the registry. In 2011 I plead guilty to retail theft, unaware that Illinois had passed a new law that would add any prior sex offenders who had completed their sex offender requirements to be added back to the registry after being convicted of "any" felony. They would register under their original sex offense, but under the new law of the original conviction. In my case attempt criminal sexual assault requires lifetime registry. Illinois uses the words "Sexual Predator" to define lifetime registrants on the Illinois sex offender website, which in turn is partially inaccurate to the illinois criminal statue defining "sexual predator" http://www.isp.state.il.us/sor/faq.cfm?CFID=2077395&CFTOKEN=96aaea7e8c3d0c74-935BE5CB-0390-6A78-C3F4385691AFA2F8&jsessionid=ec3034a3a0ffbc824757692841562d2b4528#predator http://www.ilga.gov/legislation/ilcs/ilcs3.asp?ActID=2009&ChapterID=55 My point is that the Galesburg Mission misleads it c community in falsifying claims to help all people in need to get resources from its community baesed on this false claim. Personally i would never donate and support any place claiming to be i place of god that discriminates without a rationale justified reason. I feel the mission should but focused on child sex offenders, sexually dangerous offenders, and sex offenders with 2 or more sex offense convictions.
