Geico Reviews

Did you ever wonder why Geico can afford to advertise so frequently? Also, how can they save you 15% in 15 minutes on your insurance bill? The answer, as I learned first hand, is simple. In the Geico contract, there is a little clause that says they get to use "like parts" when they fix your vehicle. "Like parts" in the context of their insurance agreement does NOT mean like the parts that are on your vehicle. It means they can scrounge for parts on junk cars, use rusted parts, buy parts in the after market, use non-original manufactured parts from the car maker, source from China, South America, Mexico. The parts they use do not have to fit properly, or last, and you won't know unless you can see the problem from the outside. How do I know this? I had a policy with Geico when I was involved in a 12 car accident. The police assigned full blame on an uninsured driver so Geico, by law, was responsible to repair my car because I had uninsured motorist coverage. I took my brand new SUV to my trusted, preferred body shop. Geico complained because they wanted me to use their preferred bodyshop so they can hide their dirty little "like parts" secret. Since my car was brand new, I instructed my shop to source the part for the manufacturer. Geico complained bitterly. They got nasty and refused to pay. I had to pay over $700 out of my own pocket, beyond the deductible to get my SUV properly repaired. I was injured in the accident but Geico refused to pay my medical expenses. When I contacted 3 different injury attorneys, I was told that Geico will fight every case to the max and it would take years to collect, and it is likely I will never collect. When I contacted the corporate office they were nasty to me. I highly recommend that you stay away from these reptiles. It's no wonder their mascot is a lizard.

GIECO IS AN ENORMOUS FRAUD

2. Let me try to make this as short as possible. On May 20, 2015 on my way to work driving through Yonkers (cross country expressway) heading west. I Probably was going about 10 mph due to the constant stop and go traffic.

3. At one of those instant when my car stopped, some guy driving behind me did not. He struck my car in the rear, which then forces my vehicle into the car in front of me.

4. Ok, no problem. No one was hurt, the cops were then called. Arrived about 45min later. Statements were taken from each driver. Police report reflects exactly how I described the accident.

5. Called Gieco informed them. They told me they would need the police report before they could proceed (I have liability insurance)

6. Police accident report took about 2 weeks before it was ready and another 3-4 day for mailing (Westchester County finest) finally I got the police report. I fax the accident report same day to Gieco after receiving it. 3-4 days went by, no respond. I decided Called gieco. The Gieco rep claimed they never got it. (I had confirmation it went through) fax it again to the new number they provided. Another 3 days went by. I called, no answer. A few minutes later they call me back

7. Now the gieco rep is stating they have to get in contact with the other people that were involved in the accident. (Took another week for that). Finally the guy insurance (gieco) called me stating they will accepts a 100% liability on the rear of my vehicle. However, the front will be 50% and I'm responsible for the other 50%.

8. This is were things got interesting. They stated the lady who my car hit made a statement she felt 2 bumps and the guy who hits me said he saw me hit the lady then he hits me. Both lies! (None of which are in the police report) when asked why such important event events never made on to the police report. Gieco rep stated the police wasn't detailed enough (BS) Moving on, I then asked. Can I see or hear those statements. Gieco rep replied, it’s against gieco policy to disclose such information (more BS)

They didn't want to take a statement from the passenger that was with me (they claimed that person would be bias. Also, I asked what’s the purpose of the police report? (They gave another BS answer) something down the line that’s its only to assist with their investigation.

9. Argue with the Gieco rep then the Rep supervisor for about 45 minutes. They still insist on me paying 50% of the frontal damages

10. So today June 30, I wrote a letter to both individuals who was involve in accident asking them contact me. (And to see if those were real statements) If guy decides he is not going to cooperate then I will be taking him to court to have my car fix.

Anything else I should do? Thanks

My insurance with Geico renewed every month on 21th. At the 26th of June I cancelled my policy with them and switched to another insurance company. My monthly premium is about $100, for providing just 5 days of coverage (15%), Geico charged me about $60 and told me because state of North Carolina allow them to charge short rate instead of pro rate, the penalty $40-50 on my cancellation is legitimate. I hereby comlained against Geico for:

(1) Failure to consent customer about the extra charge. I have called Geico regarding the cancellation before that took effective, no one mentioned that GEICO, unlike other insurance provider in this state, will take advantage of the short rate and billed me more than the pro rate. In addition GEICO failed to consent information regarding their special cancellation policy while I firstly signed up the policy 1.5 yrs ago.

For others who lives in North Carolina and uses GEICO service, please be aware of the rip-off customer cancellation policy of this company, you should expected a 40% arround short rate penalty if you cancelled your policy with them in the middle of the month. Actually there are other people reporting same experience on this website.

Horrible experience here! The service manager did not reply and waitied for him for my damaged car. Next, the repair manager was terrible at responding and actually talked the insurance company out of my repairs??? I would NEVER reccomend going there as this was the worst service eperience of my life! Encore motors was less than half the price! Im sure you can get sales to do a good job but for service I would NOT reccomend anyone go there!!!

GEICO is a huge rip-off, they have innocent commercials but lie to their insured customer, disconnect calls intentionally and hike rates without notification. After speaking with an agent for over an hour, they promised to back date an insurance policy that they failed to notify was expiring. Then the agent disconnected me and I found myself speaking with someone that had no idea what was going on, I then asked a supervisor to help me and he was nasty and refused to honor what was promised. I then asked him to connect me with a manager and he refused. I had no choice but to accept the insurance policy with a lapse in coverage even though it was GEICOS acknowledged error and admission. I am going to switch insurance companies the very next renewal that comes up.

Their cutesy commercials are deceptive and misleading. They are liars and do not honor their word. Then the supervisor hung up on me.

About a month ago, I applied online for a job with GEICO because they advised they were hiring 200 individuals in the Macon area. Five days lter, I was contacted by phone to come in for an interview on May 20. I took the day off from my surrent job at the time to pursue this job opportunity because, there was more money and it was closer to my home. Upon arriving at the interview which might I add was an all day process, myself and as many as 30 other people were shifted from room to room, going to various interviews and completing tests. At the final part of my day, i was instructed to go to the claims department and meet with a supervisor there. She was very nice to me and asked me questions about my work ethic and then she had me to wait in the break area to meet with a floor manager. After about 30 minutes, I met with the floor manager and he was verynice. After he asked me a series of questions, he offered me the job verbally and on paper. I signed the offer, shook his hand and went back to the first claims supervisor's desk. There she gave me some paperwork that I completed including the date and time that I was to show up for my first day of work (June 1). After this was complete, I went back downstairs to the desk area and waited for the nurse in the infirmary, that was going to conduct a drug screening. The nurse advised me that she would be cutting a little of my hair for the test which was fine with me. She opened the envelope for my sample and showed me nothing was on the inside, cut a lock on my hair and sealed the envelope. After I signed the envelope and verified the letters on it were the same as the authorization paper that I had. I returned back to work the next day and advised my employer verbally and on paper that I would be resigning from my current job at that time. A few days later (May 26) the health services manager at GEICO called me and advised me that he had to pull my application because of a positve finding on my drug screening. Might I add, I don't do any type of illegal drugs and I never have. My former job that I had was a govenrment job in which random drug tests were conducted and I had never tested positve before. I asked the health serivces manager at GEICO, if there was anyone else that I could speak with anout the finding. He gave me the number to the lab and I called and left a message. THe next day, I spoke with a nurse int he lab about my situation and she advised me that I would have to speak with the doctor about the finding because, it was like a trace and the doctor and I could talk about any painkillers that it could have possibly been taking that were in my system. I never spoke with the doctor ( she never ever called me back) and it was almost impossible to speak with a warm body at GEICO. My thing is, I don't know if the nurse in the infirmary had been cutting hair with the same scissors all and they were possibly contaminated, i;m not sure how many other people may have gotten a positive reading this same day, and the health services manager also advised me that It was GEICO's policy to pull applicants that have a positive finding without restesting them which I did not find this policy anywhere in the manual. If I used drugs or had used drugs, I wouldn't be as adamant about this claim as I am but I need help. I was unable to revoke my resignation at my former job, so as of May 29, I was totally unemployed. I thought I did things the correct way, but I need help in knowing where do I go from here? Even if I don't get a job with GEICO. that's fine with me. I just want to clear my name.

GEICO'S INSURED REAR ENDED MY 2004 MALIBU ON MARCH 14, 2014, THEIR INSURED I BELIEVE TO BE SPEEDING IN THE RAIN AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT. GEICO IS OFFERING $2900 TOWARD THE DAMAGE TO MY CAR WHICH IS LESS THAN THE ESTIMATE THAT WAS GIVEN TO THEM. I RECENTLY AGREED TO ACCEPT $2900 AND WAS WILLING TO LET THEM TAKE MY CAR. BUT I WANTED A RENTAL CAR THAT WAS THE SAME AS MY 2004 MALIBU EITHER ANOTHER MALIBU OR A HONDA ACCORD FOR AS LONG AS IT TAKES ME TO FIND ANOTHER USED CAR. I HAVE LOOKED ON CRAIGSLIST AND IN NEWSDAY FOR USED MALIBUS SINCE THERE ARE ONLY 2 CARS I CAN FIT MY HEAD INTO BUT MOST OF THE CARS LISTED HAVE OVER 100,000 MILES. IT MAY TAKE ME A MINIMUM OF 2 MONTHS TO FIND ANOTHER CAR SINCE THERE IS A SHORTAGE OF USED CARS. GEICO REFUSES TO GIVE ME A RENTAL FOR MORE THAN 10 DAYS. THIS IS RIDICOULUS NONSENSE AND IT VERY UNREASONALBE CONSIDERING THEIR INSURED ADMITTED FAULT AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT TO THE POLICE. YET GEICO CONTINUES TO PLAY GAMES AS TO THE AMOUNT OF MY DAMAGES PLUS THE COST OF A RENTAL.

DO NOT BUY GEICO INSURANCE THEY ALSO TRIED TO LOW BALL ME WHEN I HAD INSURANCE WITH THEM AND HAD AN ACCIDENT IN 2003

I asked for a simple insurance quote on my car which is an 05. I got a HUGE quote, not because I am a terrible driver (no tickets, no accidents), not because I haven't been driving long...40 years driving a commercial vehicle, but because of some OLD credit dings. Geico didn't inform me that they would be dinging my credit for an insurance quote either. The more inquiries, the lower your score gets. I was not informed that simply by shopping for car insurance, my credit score would be lessened... This should have been told to me up front.

Here are the reasons my quote was so high.

-Insufficient length of credit history (-) [only since 1988]

-Recent delinquency (-) [2008 foreclosure, this is 2015]

-Delinquency (-) [from any time in my life apparently]

-Delinquency date too recent (or date unknown) (-) [2008 on a house payment only is too recent? Since when do reporting companines report delinquencies without a date?]

So because I lost my house, but stayed current on my other bills, Geico sees fit to not only damage my credit for their auto insurance quote, but also give me 4 different (-) in order to get more money.

Here are some of the insulting things they said on the next page;

"Research shows that consumers with longer credit histories have lower insurance loss risk than those with shorter credit histories." So years of driving accident and ticket free are nothing compared to the year old credit card you never used...

"Analysis of consumer credit histories shows that consumers with previous late payments are much more likely to have greater insurance loss risk in the future." The fact that I have NOT had any tickets or accidents doesn't matter because "analysis shows" that after all these years I might suddenly become a risk because my house was repossessed 7 years ago. Really. I have had insurance for 40 years as well...without any breaks in coverage.

"Research reveals that consumers with previous late payments are much more likely to have higher insurance loss risk in the future." Even if you have never been a "loss risk" in your life. The RESEARCH REVEALS that I'm a risk! Not actual facts, un-cited abstract RESEARCH reveals it. What research? Into what? It sure wasn't "research" into my driving record and (non-existant) LOSS file.

Again they explain the last "delinquency" ding as "ANALYSIS" makes the consumer more likely to be a loss risk. Not your driving record or the number of miles driven accident and ticket free...ANALYSIS of late payments is the deciding factor of risk. Seems more like they want to make sure they get the money than it does about "loss risk".

My credit score was over 700 btw. Not bad for being the kind of deadbeat "risk" that GEICO makes me out to be. 4 separate (-) for the same event. Thanks GEICO.

GEICO needs to be more upfront about what they are doing. Using a credit report instead of a driving record for a car insurance quote is playing dirty. Claiming that a missed house payment means that you shouldn't have reasonable car insurance is bad policy. The fact that they check your credit apparently WITH your (unknown) authorization makes your credit score go down should also be explained to auto insurance shoppers.

I was involved in a minor auto accident with another GEICO driver. It was a situation where I changed lanes was fully in my lane and then got hit. Initially I thought that I had been rear ended, however once I got out of the car I was hit in the rear wheel well and therefore the other driver had merged into me. the driver was clearly a naïve driver, he had agreed to a bunch of things then got on the phone with his father and his father tried to trap me into signing something admitting that I did it! I said no, the police get there 3 hours later and in that time a 19 year kid had spent enough time on the phone with his manipulative father to change his entire story. The police found no one at fault since there was no witness. I called GEICO, he also had GEICO. They took over a month to make a decision. At first they act like they are on your side and fighting for you. they arnt. Its about whoever has more money with them,,. Since I just have liability only on my car they could care less!!!! The other driver had full coverage and his adjuster had told me that because the kids dad had all of his policy’s with them that its in their best interest to side with them in a minor incident. I was furious. I was also very honest. When I changed lanes going at most 10mph at night in rush hour I made sure my lane was clear, I didn’t take stock of every car and where they were and what color they were, etc. im not sure anyone does. I was honest in saying that I had changed lanes and that I was fully in my lane for several seconds before the accident occurred. No one ever honked their horn or anything so I have a very hard time with his made up after the fact story that I hit him after I had been in the lane and had full control. After this month + of "investigation" by GEICO they ruled in his favor, having my policy pay for him. Crystal’s explanation literally said because they were adamant that they were in their lane and because you admitted to changing lanes we are ruling for them!!! I said so lying is rewarded, she tried to dance her way around it. bottom line is whoever has more coverage with GEICO is who they will side with when it comes down to it. they are a joke for insurance and horrible to their clients. Just because im honest, have an older car that I don’t need full coverage on, that makes me wrong?? I’m amazed at this. because I am a decent enough person to tell the truth I’m punished. Maybe no one should be honest and the person that throws a bigger fit wins. Great way to teach that kid a lesson, instead of learning that lying and hitting people are bad, he learned today how to make it go your way and get away with lying.

This story will make you question... If the auto insurance company you have been with for the last past years wil have your back once your in a auto accident? I have been with geico insurance for 10 years, I recently was in a auto accident with 3 of my children in the vehicle , when a drunk driver speed through a stop sign and ambushed vehicle ! My car flipped over and was completely totaled. I was knocked unconscious and my daughter had a panic/ asthma attack while my two boys were cut up by all the broken glass. I truly thought that was the end as I seen my life flash before my eye in an instinct. thankful to a higher power myself and my three children survived the accident.

My family suffered physically, mentally, emotionally, and much more. My car was deemed a total loss " of course" and I made it out with a several damage disc, lumbar, cervical damage, head trama etc. I suffered significantly. My children are all under the age of 6 so they were saved due to there car seats pertecting them from any harm. But they did have to get there face, arms, and neck stitched up due to broken glass.

To make a very complex story short, dye to my injurys obtained during my accident .. I can no longer work! I have physical therapy 4 days out of the week.. To try to get my body back to normal . I have always worked very hard to provide for my family. And as a private contactor I do diffrent assignments with diffrent companys.

I was told by geico insurance to provide them with my current employers info, I did just that . Then I was sent a form" employment/ income verification form. And was told to have it filled out by my employer, I did just that. I was told after they recieve my " income verification forms" from my employer that they will start my " wage lost" and send me a check on the mail.

1 week pass, 2 weeks pass, 3 weeks past, now I'm getting worried. What's going on? I call my claims adjuster Brittany, " I explain it has been 3 weeks already and I have not evidenced any check for my lost wages . I explained I have 3 children, rent, bills, car payments etc. She says " oh, sorry I need them your employer " to also send a letter with there company heading saying you were employed, how much you were payed, how you were paid etc." I'm like " you have to be kidding me". All of that information was on the forms you had my employer fill out 3weeks ago!

she states" well that's what we need" get that to is and your checks will be on there way". I politely responded" ok and hung up. I was in tears by this time. My rent is now due, I have a shut of notice for my gas bill, and I have no food in my home to feed my children.

So I call my employer and ask for them to send a letter confining my employment with there company and also verification of my pay etc. ok they send it to Brittany at geico . another week passes , then another. I call geico claims to follow up. Still no check. They direct me to " Brittany , she says oh, i apoligize I didn't get to it last week. but we have it" I'll take a look and you will have your check by the end of the week.

nope, nothing at all.. Nothing! I have been with geico insurance for 10 years. Have never I mean never ever missed a payment. And they won't even hold to there policy! She keeps giving me the run around. She's calling my employer asking them questions about there business that dosent even relay to my employment. She questioned my boss about her answering machine, about her position. She even said she wanted her company tin number.

this is sad, and not acceptable . I now have a 72hour notice to move. me and my children will soon be homeless . I don't know what to do. I can't believe geico is doing this to my family. I'm physically incapable of working at the time. And I feel hopeless . I had to get several food boxes just to feed my children.

I need help, please expose this company for what it really is! If my rent is not paid by Monday " February 15" me and my children will be out in the streets. I'm a hard working single mom of three, proud mother and thanks to geico I can't even keep a roof over me and my kids head.

i pray what's in the dark comes to light and this company will be taken down .. For wrong doing of there companys, harassing employers , lowing to the insurers etc.

im running out of options.. If anyone knows of a church or of someone that can help me cover my rent for February that will be greatly apreciated. I'm inbarrassed to even ask, this is a humbling situation. Please help. Thanks and god bless.

ms. Shanel

Anything would help in this situation. I look forward to hearing from you all.

My family and I have been auto and home policy holders for over a decade. This treatment and inability to resolve the situation is unacceptable.

I called Geico claims to see if my premium or account be affected in any way if I made a claim about some minor damage that had occurred to my passenger’s side door. The representative ran their “Accident Evaluation Tool” and deduced that my premium would not change and that no accident would be placed on my insurance record.

I went ahead and filed a claim and took the car to the collision center. The claims adjuster told me that a sealant would fix the issue, but he decided to replace the door and the side mirror as well. I honestly do not understand why he replaced the side mirror as there was absolutely no damaged to the mirror. He failed to tell me that by doing all this work, the cost to repair door would become over $1000, resulting in placing an "at fault accident" on my insurance record and Geico charging me roughly $240 more to my premium.

The claims adjuster made unnecessary repairs to my car, chose a more expensive option when there was a cheaper alternative available without an explanation as to how it would affect me, and as a result, I have been unfairly charged for the past year and an at fault accident has been placed on my insurance record preventing me from getting a better deal at another insurance agency.

Geico cancelled my policy without notifying me after 10 years. I've had health problems and didn't notice a bounced check. 2 weeks after I had an epileptic seizure and totalled my jeep and owe $14k on it and went to emergency and they won't cover me. I'm getting a lawyer this is bs I would never recommend this insurance to anyone!

I have been a Geico Auto Insurance policyholder for many years, I had chosen Geico because they seemed to have the best prices for coverage offered.

Coverage means nothing if you cannot use it.

I had purchased full coverage for my car several years ago, I have not had any accidents till last year when someone rear ended my vehicle, the driver had insurance, thankfully.

His insurance accepted full responsibility for the damage as I was told by Geico.

The Geico call center reps are all very kind and helpful, but once you have to deal with Geico employees directly that will ALL Change! My first contact was with an adjuster who took the physical report on the damage after my first accident was extremely difficult and has a very unhappy disposition.

Even though Geico would not be paying for the damage the claims adjuster was extremely difficult to work with and not helpful at all, each contact with him became increasingly challenging.

Geico wants you to have any work done to car at one of their contracted services centers and if you do not want to utilize them I found that Geico suddenly stops all assistance with your vehicle damage and support of your claim. Now, flash forward one year later after my car is completely repaired. My car is vandalized while parked on the street in front of my house. Now this time Geico treats me like a criminal when I report the incident. Investigations and interrogations as if I had committed a heinous crime. The investigator for Geico reads me my rights and asks me to provide my statement under oath while being recorded. Seriously this happened and I have it all electronically recorded. Since when did Geico become law enforcement agents? So, knowing what I do about this ridiculous and insulting situation I decide to record the investigator as well. He made several errors in his investigative interview of myself so of course I had to correct him numerous times due to his getting facts confused and his line of questioning having little cohesiveness. He kept trying to tell me that the damage to my car occurred during separate incidents. How would he know this unless he was the one that did the crime? And lets not forget this either, why would I damage my newly repaired vehicle and have to go through this arduous process again?!?Regardless here is the issue with Geico.

If you pay for certain types of coverage be well aware they will not honor their end of the deal if they have to pay out for the damage themselves even if they are not the responsible party they will not treat you well at all. Add Insult to Injury and this is what you will get from The Geico Insurance Company. You will be left to prove your innocence as if you are a hardened criminal and of course left feeling like you have been injured not Once but Twice after working with Geico Insurance.

This has been a disgusting process and I will certainly continue to broadcast the issue so others will not be tricked into thinking they will be getting what they pay thousands of dollars for when signing up for a Geico Insurance Policy.

Geico was slow to pay an auto loss claim under collision where I was not a fault and insured

geico offered payment for $605 tow bill under a accident where police report stated clearly I was not at fault

Geico sent check to pay tow bill $605.00 I cashed check then 7 months later geico

7 months later geico ask for repayment of tow billwhile I was still not at fault

geico sent paid claim to collection agency for $605 instead of going to court

collection agency prevented me from employment

geico refused to discuss claim

just figured collection and damaging credit would be cheaper than going to court and losing

Why?

Geico

15 minutes or less that's their motto

On July 31,2010 a NJ driver ran a stop sign at 45 mph hitting us ,disabling us ,465 Doctors appointments, surgeries, procedures etc.Geico has starved us out and has used its wealth to put us on public welfare making the tax payers foot the bill for their clients negligence.we are 4 plus years treating and every game they can play has happened, the binding insurance that should cover is a fraud, they are costing the public big money by not taking care of what they owe.It seems that a Goverment Insurance related company can cost you the public instead of paying their policies.

Los Angeles California, on January 2014 I was driving my Black Honda on my way to my Doctor, I was on the 10 fry East when a lady name EVELYN HEATHNESBITT driving a Gray Nissan 2005 crash in to my back bumper.

The freeway 10 going east this day and hour was moving about 60 mph. stopping and going because of a fry cleaning machine, all lines full, all cars stop, I stop but EVELYN HEATHNESBITT was on her mobile phone and kept driving, when she notice time for her to stop her brakes and tires started screeching to stop, I notice I had few feet space in front of my front car and I was on the right lane next to the right shoulder I immediately started maneuvering to get out to the right shoulder to avoid her hitting me and me hitting the car in front I can approximately said I was almost half way out when EVELYN HEATHNESBITT hit me hard,

this is how I reduce the impact of this accident what RIPOFF GEICO calls "little or no damage to the vehicles involve", I receive damage to my back bumper and later notice damage to the bottom front bumper because I hit the freeway rail guard of the right shoulder while trying to escape, the back damage was fixed but RIPOFF GEICO refuse to fix the front because I did not reported the same day, now I understand why RIPOFF GEICO did this by RIPOFF GEICO refusing to repair keeps the damage cost to a minimum to said latter "little or no damage to the vehicles involve".

I was in a awful pain from my lower back and back of neck with an excruciating headache and right shoulder and wanted to go to my Doctor immediately, when EVELYN HEATHNESBITT walk towards me she started to emotionally break down and crying and I had to console her asking her to relax and I was not in the mood to make her bad moment much more complicated by calling law enforcement for been distracted with her mobile phone and causing this accident.

EVELYN HEATHNESBITT claim she was insured by RIPOFF GEICO, we exchange information and I started driving but few minutes later I was having a black out and an anxiety attack I was confuse and with pain all over I drove to the fry shoulder and rest a while call RIPOFF GEICO latter reporting the accident to a representative name Sylvia, few minutes later the freeway enforcement arrived and ask if I need the paramedics I said I think I can make it to my Doctor and continue.

I was schedule for more therapy, test, x-rays etc. for the next 5 months and I also went to my UCLA ER and had more test and scans because my entire left arm become numb days later. I reported my doctor visits, test, scans, x rays to my Attorney for 5 months on June 2014 I was discharge, my Attorney received my Doctor's. report and send to RIPOFF GEICO, on August 2014 I received a letter and a package with all my documents, the letter from my attorney and said, RIPOFF GEICO refuse to pay because of "little or no damage to the vehicles involve" and in the same letter terminating his representation on my case.

I contacted RIPOFF GEICO immediately and what I notice from this RIPOFF GEICO adjuster DAYNA MOYER a very fast talker and immediately said, "there is no mechanism for this case to continue" or "there is no mechanism"? and repeated, on top of been a fast talker now she is using words that doesn't make sense to understand? what she meant by mechanism? maybe she is taking engineering classes instead of medical to understand how a person can be injured in a car accident mainly in my case been on medical care for the last 6 years and close to recuperating until RIPOFF GEICO client hit me and injured me all over again.

My insurance were very helpful and called RIPOFF GEICO and spoke with RIPOFF GEICO DAYNA MOYER then my insurance calls me back saying that RIPOFF GEICO refuse to pay because of the low impact and because the medical bills were to excessive, my insurance suggested I retain a new attorney because something was not right.

My last contact with RIPOFF GEICO was on 09.2014, a call from a RIPOFF GEICO Supervisor SUZANNE ZYLIUS after receiving my complaint from the State of California Department of Insurance, SUSAN ZYLIUS said, "we are going to be maintaining our denial", on 09.2014 was my last contact with the State of California Department of Insurance they suggested I retain an auto accident injuries Attorney, I also file a complaint with the Los Angeles District Attorney for fraud, they referred my file to the Los Angeles Police Department Financial Crimes.

Dance the little lizard and they will come.....

The problem I have with Geico is how they handle their claims. Especially when I didn't make a claim.

A little background. I owned a used Mustang. It wasn't perfect and I bought it despite the little dings, dents and peeling tint, but I loved my car. I took good care of it, kept it clean and in good running order.

For a long time, I was lucky durning the recession. I kept my job until 2011, when finally it caught up to me and I became unemployed. Still I did my best to keep up with my bills. Unfortunately, in early 2012, I started falling behind in my car payment. To make a long story short, my car was repossessed that July.

I cancelled my insurance policy immediately. However almost two months later, I get a call from GEICO asking questions about the car. Was it in an accident, was there any damage to it, etc. I had not been in an accident, and there was no damages to it that wasn't already there. I was later notified that GEICO paid out the claim to them.

I was reassured by the claim adjuster that it would not go down as an accident and that other insurance agencies did not penalize for this. Despite being angry at them paying out on something that had nothing to do with me, I let it go. Its been two years since this happened, and every time I shop for insurance I have to fight to not get charged extra for that "non-accident claim".

This is unfair. It is silly that a USED vehicle is considered new for all intents and purposes when involved in a repossession, and that the lender can hold the driver responsible for all damages regardless even if damages were done before the car was purchased (ie. not durning insured time frame).

Truth is, if I got into an accident my policy dates are very relevant to them. However if it is a lender, they dont care because they would rather risk a lawsuit by the policy holder (which is less likely), than butting heads with a corporation that can easily afford legal action.

It isn't just GEICOs fault, though they refused to do anything except take the lenders word as law. Instead, the entire auto insurance industry for not using provable facts as consideration. In essence, their statements are slanderous me.

The claim adjuster couldn't even defend his actions claiming that all of the facts used were sent by the lender, which consisted only of a list of damages and cost. Of course, they would not allow me access to any of this information.

Forcing insurance on everyone only makes insurance companies realize that we don't really have a choice, and that collude through systems like LexisNexis (which doesn't carry the same protections as a standard credit report) to ensure that they always have a excuse to charge you more. GEICO has only proven this with their actions.

I recently got a newer car and called GEICO to update my insurance, they informed me that they have a right to not insure me if they don't feel like it, but it felt like business discrimination.

The fact is that legislation passed (Senate Bill I think it was AB2298 ?) that requires companies like Uber and Lyft to have additional insurance on their drivers, so everyone including passengers are covered. The drivers are covered by their own personal insurance when they do not have any passengers, so it's not a big deal for the insurance companies. GEICO doesn't seem to understand that.

Thus, I ended a long term customer relationship with GEICO, rather, they were the ones who cancelled on me. Their loss. Now I'll find a cheaper carrier to help me insure my car. Bye bye GEICO... you lose.

  • Aug 27, 2014

I was in a parked car and another driver (insured by Geico) hit my car. We exchanged information. He tried to convince me that even though he hit my car, the damage was from a previous time.

I was sitting in my car watching him scrape and dent my car as he tried to park adjacent to me. As it turns out, he lied to Geico and said there was no impact whatsoever.

I brought it to a supervisory level. In the end, they stood behind their customer. I was in a parked car. Their customer hit me. I have pictures. It's ludicrous that they are accepting their customer's lies.

My girlfriend:

I have been dating her for a few months

We do not live together

We do not have kids

We do not work together

We do not share taxes

We do not depend on each others vehicle

She lives with her parents

She has had a license for only a week

She bought a car yesterday

She is unable to qualify for GEICO due to lack of experience

Myself:

My Insurance is GEICO

I have been with them happily for years

I have full coverage

I am a veteran

I live with my parents

Upon receiving her license, I decide to call up GEICO for advice. Since I was going out of town for the weekend, and she always works them, we thought it would be fun if she came with and drove my truck to her job that weekend. I call up GEICO and ask the intricacies of having another person operate your vehicle and explain the weekend situation.

They explain the procedure very satisfactorily, but then add her as a driver automatically and irreversibly. This proceeds to skyrocket my insurance by a 150% increase (from $100 to $250 /mo.). I explain I was only asking advice and they proceed to tell me that based on their guidelines they must add her because it appears she will be driving my vehicle on a regular basis. She proceeds to tell me the only two options are to show proof of her getting insurance (which I fail to see why her insurance is MY business), or do a named driver exclusion which basically makes a complete stranger covered to drive my truck but my own girlfriend not--a harsh punishment for responsibly asking advice for the future

I quit arguing and write the company a complaint in which they respond with the same logic, and state that anyone in "my household" must be covered under my insurance.

I then call back and am presented with the fact that a lot of false documentation has taken place. They state that she is as young as 19 in which she is not, reiterate that she lives with me, in which she does not, and state that I stated (and that its documented) that she was a routine driver of my vehicle. This fails to logically validate itself due to the fact that she has had a license for a week, that we do not work/live together, and that she was planning on buying a car right after the weekend that I had inquired advice for.

I get off the phone and hop on the internet to find that GEICO has a multitude of complaints with this sort of thing dating as far back as I could find to 2008! I explain my situation to friends, family, and colleagues to discover I am not crazy and that this is unfair practice. I call back a final time.

This time my request for a supervisor (as opposed to the previous phone call) is met and I discuss my situation with a lady who was professional and courteous the entire time (albeit she has to go in accordance with these terrible guidelines). However, she gives the benefit of the doubt to this documentation that states I had told them my girlfriend was to be a routine driver. She reiterates the options of proving my girlfriends insurance, or doing an exclusion form. I then proceed to ask where is the incentive on asking for advice in the future and do I have to claim every one night stand I might have from this point on towards my policy (I’m not serious on that--it’s a point I’m making that my love life should not factor into my car insurance). Also no reason was given as to why my girlfriend was unable to meet the qualifications of GEICO in order to have insurance through them, yet she appears on mine due to me mentioning her existence.

After the failed phone call, I then proceed to file another online complaint, asking "WHY?" to everything wrong here, as well as fax in the driver exclusion and a written letter of disapproval stating that I did not intend to renew with them.As a veteran of the intelligence community, an engineer graduate, and a former employee of both automotive repair and customer service, I truly hope that I am not flawed in my justification of this whole situation that is supposed to be so easy "a caveman can do it.

I am so angry with Geico insurance and the state of North Carolina right

now, here's what happened to me. I did a routine review of my auto

insurance rates recently and discovered that I could save over $1000 per

year by switching to Safeco. I immediately signed up and contacted

Geico to cancel my existing policy.
Much to my surprise I was given

mis-information by the first clerk that I spoke to. I was told to mail

in my request to cancel, which I didn't need to do as stated by a second

clerk a week later. The second clerk told me that all I needed to do

was submit my request on their site and all would be ok. She also gave

me my refund amount of $218.88.
When the actual refund came it

amounted to only $89.49. I immediately called Geico to find out why the

refund was so low. I was informed that the state of North Carolina

allows them to take what's call a Short Rate Premium for early

cancellations as well as a .431 percentage of your actual refund.
Here

are my numbers: Total Amount of six month premium=$958.49 x 61% (Short

Rate Premium)= $548.68 Subtract that amount from the amount actually

paid: 803.48-548.68= 218.88 the actual amount of gross refund. But wait

here's the kicker Geico takes another .431 (That's over 43%) from my

refund as an additional penalty which amounts to $94.28. My net refund

according to Geico is only $124.60. What a rip off and I plan to tell

every one I know! What's even worse is that North Carolina is the only

state in the Union that allows this, some politician must have some

serious investments in Geico.
Cheaters, liars, thieves!

I am 24, a full time graduate student and a full time software engineer.

My car was struck by a GEICO insured. They admitted fault.

I rented a car while mine was being fixed. It took 19 days to get the parts and return my car back to me.

The only way I could rent a car was by agreeing to pay a $27/day "Under 25 fee". Without paying this fee, no rental car agenciy would rent me a car. Obviously I needed a rental.

GEICO said that this fee was reimburseable in telephone conversations on 6/2/14, 6/14/14 and 7/7/14. But on 7/25 they offered to settle the rental bill without paying ANY of the under 25 fees. I am currently out $548.91.

I have filed a complaint with the New Jersey Insurance Commission.

The Geico Claims Agent insisted I should have had someone over the age of 25 rent the car for me to avoid this fee. I believe, but am not certain, that this would constitute a fraudulent act.

Folks, you need to check your policy very well. I had auto insurance with Geico for over 6 years and upgraded my policy from liability to auto comprehensive, unknown to be that a Geico agent sold me a policy with $2500 deductible, I was happy to be paying average of $135/month for close to 18 months. I had no ticket or traffic violations. I only find out about the $2500 deductible when I filed for a claim for my 2008 Toyota Camry. You can see the adjuster's print out below.

  • Jul 17, 2014

I had car insurance with Geico and they told me I owe $398.00 dollars after I had cancelled their policy. I was paying $92.00 dollars a month for liability insurance. I brought a new car and was told I had to pay $301.00 for a down payment, but to continue paying $92.00 dollars until they contact me. Later that week, I noticed a email with a transmission of $301.00 without my authorization. I was waiting for them to call me because I was inbetween pay weeks. They said, my payment would be $196.00 a month and I could pay $301.00 on the next paycheck. The next week 3 days prior to getting paid I notice a transmission of $523.00 schedule to come out of my bank account. I placed a stop payment on that check, and when I called them they said they were sorry, because they realize it was not authorizated. I paid my account through a automatic payment from their website. I felt like I could not trust them any more so I cancelled my car insurance and went with another company. I cancelled on July 4th 2014, but I still had 3 weeks before my insurance expired. They mail me a letter saying I owe them $398.00 prior to cancelling because I had been insured and had not paid. I had paid my account every month the only reason I had waited is they told me to. It is so obvious that they want to say I owe $398.00 to keep from sending me a refund. The insuranc company that I went with said I should get an refund, also I had been with another insurance company for 18 years when I cancelled I never owe anything in fact I received a refund. I would "warn" anyone to stay far away from geico insurance, because they are not a honest company. When I complaing to them asking why are they doing this they receptionist kept saying, "I understand your feeling". I do not blame them the crooks are hidden behind their desks with this company!!!Beware People!!!

My Car: 2012 Nissan Rogue 80,000 miles. They bloated my value to 23,000 to keep from totalling it. Damabe from hitting multiple deer 11,500. To keep from totalling it they bloated the value and added all cheap aftermarket parts to my car. At my expense, I will be stuck with a car that has pretty much been 70 percent salvaged. I will never be able to trade it and I am very upside down now. Thank you Geico!

  • May 14, 2014

My car has been waiting to be repaired by GEICO for over two months now.

After I filed a complaint with Texas Department of Insurance; GEICO's manager (Arnie) contacted me on May 7, 2014 at 12:10pm and said they were going to have my car towed over to a mercedes repair shop. I waited all day but no one called or came to tow the car. I contacted GEICO numerous times but each time they asked me to wait. As of taoday, May 11, 2014; I am still waiting...

My car is not drivable and parked in the garage is causing additional damages to the car; the car is now almost sitting on the front right wheel.

I'm a very unhappy customer with GEICO INDEMNITY COMPANY. In April I decided to go back to GEICO. Policy number 4347-70-68-32. I signed up for services on 04/18/2014(my birthday). In less than a week I got into an accident on 04/24/2014. I filed my claim. Geico puts me in a rental car, totalled out my car, pick my car up from the salvage yard and then tells me that my policy is cancelled due to an error with my payment. I ask them to let me make the payment and they said no we can't restart your current policy but we can issue you a new one. After investigating the payment and finding out that it wasn't my fault the manager(michael) said he would have it reviewed with the underwriting dept. He then calls me back and said because of reviewing my polices in the past(5-6 years ago) that the underwriting dept will not reinstat my policy. I'm a victem of Geico backing out of my policy because I had an accident. Not just that the stress and pain that I'm going through. I've been to the hospital and been on medication. I now have to go sit with an attorney because Geico is being unreasonable and is trying not to cover my accident. They already have my car and the claim is already in process. I urge EVERYONE, my family, co-workers, friends and those who is reading this post. Please don't fall victem to this. Avoid signing up with Geico and if you have Geico, please change to a different insurance company. Geico will take your money for years but give you H*** if you get into an accident. I'm being stuck with not having no coverage and no car. I could've stayed with my previous company Nationwide. I'm so hurt that there is cruel people in the world that would make someone suffer a loss and then to make it worse leave me out to hang. I will be sitting with an attorney first thing in the morning.

  • May 7, 2014

After selling my car, I contacted GEICO to let them know and cancelled the policy.

They proceeded and gave me a small refund.

Two months later I found that my drivers license had been suspended. Due to GEICO informing the state agency that I had no insurance. What is this about?

Unnecessary for a client that during 2.5 years never had a single claim.

I was run off the Interstate at 75 mile an hour. Thankfully my child and I are alive. Geico appeared to be doing the right thing by me, and I thought wow...WRONG! There was a horrible knocking in my engine, and I was afraid to drive it. When I got my vehicle back it looked great, I gave them 500 dollars for the deductible, although the OTHER driver a semi truck was sited and listed at fault. I was given nothing in return but a shell of a vehicle. I said it still knocks, and they FLAT lied to my face and said they called my husband and he said it was always knocking? What? I said I don't know anything about that! I know it was not, and that we had just had the vehicle repaired. I even had shown them reciepts!!! I was furious, went home told my husband, and he said they are shisters and NEVER EVER talked to him or called him. He would love to hear a recording of his voice because it never happened. Now there are 3 blown cylinders that were not there before! They claim we let the oil run low. Lie my husband was very conscience of this and changed it frequently, and even on the last dignostic there shows NOTHING of any bad cylinders. Furious is an understatement!

Geico, is ripping people off! They gave me 2 policies at one time with similar account numbers. Some how went into my account and took money out without consent. Two policies on the same car! I think an agent did it for the commision or they float the money for intrest until the consumer catches it. What an out rage! Don't use Geico it is all about marketing and theift by deception. Geico is all smoke and mirrors.
