I signed up for what I thought was a legitimate mystery shopper program. Then got a check for $3580 to conduct 2 tasks. One was to send $2850 by Western Union to a receiving agent and the second task was to use $150 to shop at one of 10 stores. The rest was to cover expenses and ay me for my services. None of this was to be done until the check cleared in 24-48 hours, I was told. I went to my bank and asked if it was a legitimate check and was told that it wasn't.
Then I called the bank in N.C. that was shown as having issued the check to see if it was legitimate and was told that it was fake. This company tried to scam me out of almost $3000.
