This is a very clever scam where they get you excited about great jobs in china that you can only get with an internship and they offer to connect you for a $300 refundable deposit, but once you pay it they send you a contract to pay another $3,400. I told them i was not told the full cost and want my $300 back and now they just ignore my call. Thieves!
They are really just after your deposit! once they get it you will never get a refund and then you start finding out the truth... It will cost you a total
Gi2c placement fee = $3,700
Rt air fare tickets = $1,500
Apartment rental = $1,500
Meals for 90 days = $1,500
Subway fares = $1,000
Then i found all these horror stories on line this morning:
Thanks but they already screwed me before I saw your warning!
Everything you say is true. Unfortunately most people are not going to see this warning until it is too late. Gi2C caused me to lose over $5,000 and 3 months of my life with a garbage internship with some Chinese company nobody in China even heard of and they worked me like a dog doing deliveries and handing out brochures in a mall 12 hours a day. They paid me nothing and I had to spend over $30 a day just to eat and take the subway to and from the assignment. They gave me zero training nor support. A total sham.
Laowai Career Center is new name for old Gi2c China Job & Internship Scam!
Same costly scam now wears a new disguise to avoid bad internet publicity. The Russian owner and his girlfriend are still swindling university students but now they are using the name Laowai Career Center - their fifth name in the last 6 years! This link explains how devious they are and how they got a lot of foreigners arrested and deported by telling them to come to China without the mandatory Z visa. http://www.realscam.com/search.php?searchid=508727
I cannot believe these guys are still in business. In 2008 they were "Getin2China". In 2010, they were "Better Careers" and now today they are "Gi2C". They are like a cockroach that never dies! I too was swindled and tricked to believe that you can get a $60,000 job with a MNC or Fortune 500 job in China just by buying a $3,700 summer internship with Gi2c who claims to be their exclusive "corporate registrar"? By the time I left China, I had spent over $7,500 in costs they never told me about and I never once interned at any MNC or Fortune 500 Company, but instead was a servant at a third tier start up called Cebex running errands and proof-reading. Don't get me wrong, Cebex is a legitimate company that uses ecommerce to sell events, but that is not the "big international company" that was promised to me. Anyone else out there get screwed like me? If you are interested, my whole story is at http://eslwatch.info/forum/china/117-fraud-warning-gi2c-and-other-china-job-internship-scams-beware-people.html#403.
I met a few other victims at the above thread but Gi2c now claims that some jealous competitor is just trying to make them look bad. If that was true, or even half true then I would ask the management at gi2c to answer me some very simple questions...
1. Why do you two aliases to sell the same intern service gi2c,org and getin2china,com?
2. Why do you try to fool people with a ".org" internet when you are not a registered foundation, charity, NGO, or NPO?
3. Why did you guys tell me you had offices all over the world like you say on your homepage, but when I dial all those telephone numbers in Los Angeles, New York, London, Tokyo, and Canada, the same person answers the phone in a space of 30 minutes? Can you please publish the street addresses of your offices in all those countries here?
4. Why did your sales rep Max and and manager Kris tell me to lie to the Chinese visa officers and never mention that I was coming to China to work as an intern? Why would you tell me to break the law and risk going to jail?
5. Why did 15 of your 20 employees resign in the last year yet you keep their photos on your website nine months later as "Our Team". Is this dishonest and misleading people to think foreigners are running your business?
6. Can you please publish a list here of at least 10 Fortune 500 companies or MNCs that Max told me you guys represent as well as those famous "Wall Street Companies"? I met 22 other Gi2c interns last summer and none of them got placed with ANY company that was even a second tier international company!
Yes, I was gullible, naive, and just plain dumb to believe all of this. Did anyone else make the same mistake? I can't even tell my parents what happened or I will hear "We told you so" for at least the next five years of my life even after I pay them back every dime I borrowed from them for this China misadventure. Cheryl, if you still work there get a real job dear before you become like the owners. Greed is very contagious. The China Scam Patrol report of Gi2C is a must read for anyone who believes their many lies.
Read the China Scam Patrol report about them at http://chinascampatrol.wordpress.com. Everything they say an do is fake to make themselves look like a big huge company. They say they have 8 offices around the world - they only have 2. They say they have 20 employees but have only 10. They say they have 50 University "Partners" they have 1. They say they placed "over 1,100 interns with MNC companies" but cannot name one company nor intern to prove this. They say they work with "Famous Wall Street Companies" but cannot name more than 1 and that company stopped using them last year. Need I go on? One of their employees, according to scam-detector.com was even arrested by the China police for visa fraud, and a former Gi2c customer named Winnie Maliko was told to lie to Chinese visa officials by Gi2C staff!
Yes, they have a cool website and lots of great "testimonials" and "reviews", but how many are real and why did they have to hire a hacker to delete 37 negative reviews on line? You can see samples of what was removed here: http://scam-detector.com/forums/forum/employment-scams/428-gi2c-china-internship-scammers-hired-hackers-to-delete-negative-comments-on-internet
The Gi2c China Internship Has Pakistan Boiler Room ""Calling From London"
I just read at the two linkks below that they have Pakistani telemarketing people calling students pretending they are calling from the London office of Gi2c (they have no office in London). Somehow they spoof the London telephone number and ifyou ask for a call back number they will give you this phone number here: +44 203 6087372 which turns out to be one of those "virtual numbers" which is call forwarded to Beijing! They could just be trying to save money or they could be trying to give people false confidence that they are dealing with a regulated company in Beijing instead of an unregulated company in China, or they could be trying to hide their legal trail in case someone wants to sue them or prosecute them.
No matter how much they may cheat people, they are not breaking any laws in China, but they are forcing their customers to break the visa laws of China. See here for two explanations;
Yep, this is a wicked and sneaky scam where college grads will lose at least $300 and and as much as $7,000 depending on how stupid you are. The links the op gave prove the scam is real. After look ing at their website howver, I can see why people fall for this bullshit.
It looks like they have been doing this same scam under different names for five years inlcuding as "Getin2China" "Better Careers" and now as "Gi2c". But what people don't seem to realize is that by participating in this scam you are committing a felony crime that can get your butt thrown in jail and then deported.
Gi2c China Internship Scam Makes False Claims - AGAIN!
If you go to the below link you will see two pages from Gi2c's printed brochure where they falsely claim to have "partnerships" with "500 Top University" but if you call the universities admin or legal offices, they never even heard of Gi2C and are quite annoyed. If you then call Gi2c and ask them for their contact person at MIT or UCLA or one of the other unis they claim to be working with, they put you on "hold" and never come back to the phone! Here is what I am talking about:
All I can say is that they must be paying somebody off to keep their doors open for business. According to the below they are violating the new visa laws of China: http://totallyexpat.com/global-immigration-news/china-china-eliminates-internship-training-visas-foreign-students/ and also: http://antifraudintl.org/threads/beware-of-china-internship-visa-scams.96692/#post-265311
The Russian guy who owns Gi2c is the same guy who owned Getin2China that brought in an all those great looking Russian hookers for the 2008 Beijing Olympics. I wish he stayed in that business. I miss those beautiful babes!
Getting visas for Russian street girls is not easy in China so Yuri is certainly resourceful. Now he is getting dumb ass university students to pay $3,000 for what my friends and I got for free - China internships! Obviously he is a talented guy - that needs to be locked away for a year or two.
I am convinced this is an out and out scam. Granted it may be legal in China but the last I heard, selling girl babies is still not prosecuted in parts of China and the police care less about transient foreigners who get cheated in some scam - especially one operated by another expat! http://www.scam.com/showthread.php?681897-Fraud-Warning!-Gi2C-is-a-clever-China-internship-scam-cheating-university-students&p=1878371#post1878371
Just a very sophisticated scam that is easy to fall for because of all the self-created "testimonials" & "reviews" (fake-fake-fake!) Just google these con-artists and you will find stuff like this everywhere:
1) The job description does not come directly from the sponsor company = SCAM!
2) Some third party wants you to pay money for the internship placement = SCAM!
3) The HR specialist refuses to answer all of your questions = SCAM!
4) You are told to lie or hide something when applying for your visa
5) You are told that if hired you will have to pay a percentage of your earnings to a third party.
Remember that all the genuine scam-free internships are offered directly by the companies that need the interns TOTALLY FREE OF CHARGE - No registration fee, No application fee, and No placement fee. For more details see these links:
Gi2c is a smoke and mirrors con job - beware friends.
Legally, it may not be a scam to charge money for what people can get for free, but I would rather buy a fart in jar from Queen Elizabeth than have anything to do with this Gi2c group. Their entire website is a deception just chock-full of lies mates. Take a look at the screenshots at this web site to see what I mean: http://www.scam.com/showthread.php?681896-Gi2C-is-a-clever-China-internship-scam-cheating-university-students
Surely you too can find better ways to waste your hard earned shillings.
Gi2c is a scam - do not be fooled by smooth talking fraudsters!
http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/showthread.php?t=3227459 is just one place to start. What they offer is not even legal in China since 2013! http://www.balglobal.com/News/NewsDetail/tabid/266/id/3105/language/en-US/CHINA--China-Eliminates-Internship-and-Training-Visas-for-Most-Foreign-Students.aspx Read this very carefully and then block those bastards on Skype and on your email. They operate as three different companies, but the scam is the same: http://antifraudintl.org/threads/beware-of-china-internship-visa-scams.96692/
If you want to intern in China you can do it for free! See http://freechinainternships.blogspot.com
There are many other companies that just take your money and give you nothing but fake invitation letters. Maybe you get a third rate expensive internship with Gi2c bu8t at least you get an internship with a room, Chinese lessons, and some orientations. They do need to be more honest with people and stop acting so big and successful. http://www.realscam.com/f8/fake-phantom-felon-employees-gi2cs-china-internship-scam-6-invisible-offices-4057/#post85938
Warning to All! Gi2c Scam now Operating As Laowai Career Center in China!
They are still scamming uni students but using a new name - again! The same Russian scammer and his girlfriend are using the name Laowai Career Center. Here are all the details. https://scam.com/entry.php?6418-Beware-of-China-s-many-Legal-Scams-like-Lawoai-Career-Center-Job-Fraud-Targeting-Expats.
Beware! Gi2C changed name to Wiseway Global - Same Expanded Scam!
Gi2C changed their name to Wiseway Global becuase of all the bad publicity so people need to warn their friends that it is the same but expanded scam run by Yuri and his gang of con artists. If you visit and search ant Scam.com and ESLWatch.info/forum/china you will get all the details.
Gi2c is bold China internship scam that uses fake reviews and testimonials
I have to admit...they fooled me completely for a week with all those wonderful testimonials and reviews. Their web site is superb as well. Then I discovered the truth by accident when my mom found some links buried on page 9 and 10 of a google search. Here is what she found.
China programs are well-disguised and camouflaged by clever SEO specialists IMO. It was just annouced at realscam.com that the police forced the landlord at Galaxy Soho building to evict Gi2C from their upscale offices - Stefan
Gi2C is Violating China Visa Laws - Truly A Clever Fraud
Just google "Gi2c China internship, victim, Winnie, visa, scam" and you will see how these scam artists tell their customer to lie to vias officials - which is a felony crime BTW! Also read this here http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/showthread.php?p=58467839&highlight=gi2c
Wiseway Global Education is another Gi2C Scam alias name
Now that Gi2c has been exposed as a total sham, the owners Yuri and Svetlana and Ben have begun shifting their marketing operations through two other scam shell companies called WiseWay Global Education and Loawai Career Center. Same scam, same Zhongguancun call center in Beijing but now they simply use a different script and focus on teaching internships and jobs. Don't be fooled, however, As I just found out the hard way, it is the very same bait and switch bullshit, and no, you will not earn even $25,000 a year in ay job they find for you. You can do much better yourself for free. Gi2c is Now using name of Laowai Career Center to scam students
2017 UPDATE - LAOWAI CAREER CENTER IS THE NEW NAME FOR THE GI2C CHINA JOB & INTERNSHIP SCAM!
You can paint a duck green and stick a wig on it but it is still a duck. The sly Russian Yuri is still walking like that scam duck but he is just using this new brand name of Laowai Career Center. In fact the same Gi2c managers are working with him (Ben, Vivi, and Chris). http://www.abroadreviews.com/fraud-alert-laowai-career-center-cheats-uni-grads-china-job-internship-scams
Run far and run fast. They stole $2,999 from one of my new friends who was left homeless in Beijing because of these assholes. Read this also: https://chinasupersleuth.wordpress.com/

Gi2c China Internship Fraud Using New Names - Beware!
Watch out people-the Gi2c con artists have acquired two new names of Wiseway Global Education and i2 China Job Agency - neither one of which is registered with a business license or the tax office of Beijing. http://www.realscam.com/f8/warning-gi2c-china-internship-just-another-china-job-scam-but-pricey-3928/ and also
Sadly Gi2c is an obvious scam with fake reviews and testimonials that they bought for $1,000 each (See Scam.com). But the good news is that there are in fact, real Fortune 500 Company and MNC China internships that are 100% legal and you can get for FREE. But it is a DIY affair. This link explains all you need to know: http://www.esl-jobs-forum.com/viewtopic.php?t=6994
Gi2C Internship is not a scam - It's not a scam to charge money for a legit service
I got into China via an internship provider and it opened tons of doors for me. I don't regret it at all. Even met my spouse there. Yes, the initial cost is a little steep but good luck trying to find work in China on your own!
There is no official China visa for foreigners doing internships. The omission of any reference to internships has created a legal ambiguity as to which visa, if any, is appropriate for an internship. A clear statement of policy has yet to be provided by the government and immigration authorities to resolve the ambiguity.
In 2017 They are still cheating people and using different names to do it!
These guys are like roaches that pretend to be dead and then scamper away when you blink your esys or turn your back for 10 seconds! https://www.scam.com/blog_post.php?do=updateblog&blogid=6418
As you can see at this link they are now using the name "Laowai Career Center" and previously used all of the below names as well!
Getin2China
WiseWay Global
WiseWay Education Group
China Express
Olympic Escort Service
I guess there are no shortage of dumb suckers in this world that are too lazy to search "China Job Scams" on yahoo or Google! I found this helpful site for lazy people: http://reddit/r/chinascamcentral

Getting visas for Russian street girls is not easy in China so Yuri is certainly resourceful. Now he is getting dumb ass university students to pay $3,000 for what my friends and I got for free - China internships! Obviously he is a talented guy - that needs to be locked away for a year or two.
Gi2c is a scam no matter how you slice it
I am convinced this is an out and out scam. Granted it may be legal in China but the last I heard, selling girl babies is still not prosecuted in parts of China and the police care less about transient foreigners who get cheated in some scam - especially one operated by another expat! http://www.scam.com/showthread.php?681897-Fraud-Warning!-Gi2C-is-a-clever-China-internship-scam-cheating-university-students&p=1878371#post1878371
Gi2c China Internship Scam ALIAS: Getin2China

Gi2C Not As Bad As Other China Internship Scams
There are many other companies that just take your money and give you nothing but fake invitation letters. Maybe you get a third rate expensive internship with Gi2c bu8t at least you get an internship with a room, Chinese lessons, and some orientations. They do need to be more honest with people and stop acting so big and successful. http://www.realscam.com/f8/fake-phantom-felon-employees-gi2cs-china-internship-scam-6-invisible-offices-4057/#post85938

Gi2C - Bad China Internshi[ Scam But Good News
