I purchased 38 (56 sashes total) armor glass windows with low-e film in 2006 after Hurricane Katrina. In 2008 we started having problem with cloudy windows do to low-e film separation. All American window in Mobile, Al Phone #251-660-7707 was the local installer and vendor for Gorell. After a request for Gorell to replace all sashes without the low-e film was demoed. The problem continued untill 2011 when All- American Window stopped carrying the Gorell window. Then any replacement sashes would have to be ordered direct from Gorell. These sashes were UPS shipped to me. All the while Gorell had been honoring the warranty. I had sent several pictures to Gorell showing poor workmanship where the sealant was applied to the windows. This leakage caused air to enter the seal and cause the low-e film to separate. Out of 56 origina sashes, 44 were replaced and now I have 3 more that are bad. Some were manufactured as late as 2010.
Now I find out that Safe-lite Window, LLC was a subsidary of Gorell and they purchased Gorill'a assets but will not honor the 50 year warranty. This transaction was pulblic knowledge and ordered bythe court syste.
So now I assume the cost of replacement sashes as they fail.
