I was told I needed a NEW garage door for hundreds of dollars when all I needed was $95.00 repair that took about 35 minutes for a different company to do. I called for their service as my garage door had come off the tracks.
I was told someone would call and come between 3-6pm.At 5pm no call and no one had come by so I called to check in. They said someone had come and no one was home yet I had all the windows up in the sunroom and two barking dogs but had noticed no one coming by. I really was annoyed bc I was home and no one had come by. So they said they would come by the next day and I said nevermind Ill call someone else. The guy said hold on maybe they could come today and put me on hold, I hung up. About a 30 min to an hr later someone shows up anyway. So I said it was fine for him to take a look at it. Bc if it was an easy fix it would have been nice to have it out of the way.
A few mins later he comes w/ the "bad news", I need a whole new door at a cost of $1000. as inONE THOUSAND DOLLARS. I said well I have someone coming tomorrow (since I had called another company bc of the original mix up) and I said Ill see what they say then decide. So he said it would be a $29.95 service call but he would see if his manager could knock the price down some for me. So he comes back with $700 and I said I still wanted the second opinion at which time he told me I would have to pay a $39.98 service call and I could call them if I decided to get the new door. So the service price jumped $10 bucks for some random reason in a matter of a few minutes. I ended up writing a check for $40.00 and jus hoped the next guy coming could have a better price for me.
The next guy the new repair guy from another company comes and within 35 minutes MY GARAGE WAS FIXED FOR $95.00. NINTEY FIVE DOLLARS!!!! He told me what the issue was and if this certain part quit working it would be $325.00 repair job but I did not need this done now. So I did NOT need a new door at all. It was a quick 35 minute repair for someone not intent on ripping people off. I do not recommend this company. Please do your reserach before you let them jus replace your garage door.
