On Monday, August 25, 2014, I went to the El Cajon Court to try to get an emergency hearing in front of the judge to explain how I could not get the law firm to sign the substitution of attorney so I can proceed with my case. The clerk informed me that they could do nothing for me until a substitution of attorney was signed and that I needed to take it to the law firm, wait outside the law firm, do whatever I could to get this form signed.
Hirsch & Yurman use a small office with no secretary or receptionist. I finally took a substitution of attorney to Ms. Hirsch's residence & taped it on her door. I also took another signed form & taped it to her office door. I sent an email and left messages for both Ms. Hirsch and Miss Yurman stating that I had left signed copies of the substitution of attorney at both the residence and the office and requested that they sign said form and return it to me so I could get moving on my case.
Ms. Hirsch then informed me that the substitution of attorney form they sent to me was the wrong form and Ms. Hirsch began berating me via email, via text messages, via voicemail messages and calling from various phone numbers harassing me and stating that I had better sign a new substitution of attorney form. She finally left a new form taped to her office door and I retrieved it and was able to fax it to opposing counsel.
I am out the full retainer. I have had zero representation from The Hirsch and Yurman law firm. I have no money to hire a new attorney. Ms. Hirsch and Miss Yurman's actions were atrocious.
Back in July of this year, I was able to get a copy of an invoice from the law firm. There are numerous bogus charges on this invoice. Ms. Hirsch claims she appeared in court and did a stipulation on my case back in March of this year. I went to the court file. There is nothing in the file that shows she did anything. In fact, she did not even show herself as attorney of record until May 7, 2014. Over six months after I had hired and retained her services.
Ms. Hirsch finally returned my phone call and scheduled a meeting at her office for Thursday, April 10, 2014, for 10:00 a.m. I arrived at her office at approximately 9:45 AM. I waited until 11:00 AM. Ms. Hirsch did not show up nor did she call. I began to try to reach her by phone but to no avail. Finally, at approximately noon, I figured Ms. Hirsch was not going to show up and I left her office. Because of the fact that Ms. Hirsch still was not shown as my attorney of record and the fact that the paperwork had been produced on my case and the fact that Ms. Hirsch did not show up for my scheduled appointment nor return any phone calls, I gathered that either she was not capable or was not interested in handling my case. That evening I sent an email to her requesting that she be taken off my case, basically that she was fired. The next morning I received a phone call from Ms.
Hirsch begging me to let her stay on the case. She then scheduled an appointment at her office for April 18 at 10 AM.
Again, I heard nothing at all from Ms. Hirsch or from Ms. Yurman. The morning of June 2, 2014, I was concerned because I had not heard from my attorney so I called the office to make sure that they would be in court that afternoon at 1:45. As usual, no one answered the phone so I left a message reminding Ms. Hirsch of the court hearing that afternoon and to please call me if there was an issue. I heard nothing from Ms. Hirsch. I arrived in court at 1:30 PM. I checked in with the deputy. Opposing counsel, Mr. Burkett and Mr. Baker showed up in court. At 1:50 PM, I tried to call Ms. Hirsch again. I got a recording stating "the person you are trying to reach is not able to accept calls at this time." I again called at approximately 2:20 to let Ms. Hirsch know that I was waiting for her, Judge Amador was waiting for her, and opposing counsel was waiting for her appearance. Again, I could not reach Ms. Hirsch.
Dorrina Hirsch stole my $2,500 dollars,she did no work on my case, I am now on my own and representing mysef.
